Okami (Chelsea Heights) - Japanese All You Can Eat reviews
63Surprisingly this was the first time I have ever come away disappointed from an Okami experience. I go regularly to multiple locations, but this was the first time at this location and I will not be coming back to this one. Despite the food been great as usual, I think we only had someone come over to our table of four 2-3 times. Not only this but when we did have someone come back over they in short told us they were going to reduce the size of our plates because we hadn't finished every last piece that was on our table (never been to an Okami that has stopped us from getting what we want). To top it off, as we had still not gotten the plates we wanted (even ones we ordered) they came around to do final orders only to tell us they couldn't make any of the things we asked to order? Never ever had an experience like this at any Okami and Im not one to go out of my way to write a review but it was just disappointing and a waste of money: (Completely defeated the purpose of 'all you can eat' when I didn't even leave feeling full.
Nice food but make sure you order a lot of different dishes as they are small serves. Not bad value for all you can eat.
Okami has become our go-to dinner spot. Love the food, it's very well priced for the amount and quality of food you get. Definitely worth a visit
Frankston Okami is better. Service wise- fast, accommodating and well organised with chef. Food is the same it's just the Service was very slow. Thanks
Excelent food great service plenty on menue to choose, not noisey, cold beer, hot food. I" l be back.
Disgusting service. Pre ordered for 545pm on menu log. Order was accepted by resturant and I contacted menu log at 610pm as order had not been received. Driver was assigned by menu log and then at 630pm order was cancelled by resturant. Menu log driver states resutrant was close yet they do all you can eat.
Second time this has happened. Do not offer home delivery if you are going to disappoint customers.
On several nights now been phoning to make reservations and phone just rings out appears they have private functions but no message on phone, waste of time calling.
Was ok, more like an all you can eat. Quality not the greatest.
Good if you have never had Japanese before.
Average food. Not authentic Japanese. Had sashimi and sushi which was fresh but not made well as rice keep falling apart.
Excellent customer service! Food was out quick and hot.we will tell our family and friends about this place and we will be back!
I love this place the food is amazing. The service is prompt, polite and professional. Makes me hungry just thinking about it! Try the warm sake, you won't regret it!
Honestly after reading the reviews myself and partner were really expecting more. Food quality is really average. Extremely low grade beef used for the beef carpaccio, same for the chicken which was tough and chewy. Not much in the way of seasoning. Seafood tempura was flavourless. The green tea taiyaki was super oily and smelled and tasted of old fry oil. If you want great all you can eat Japanese try Isshin in Forest Hill it's my usual goto but thought we would try somewhere new, we won't be back here.
Just had dinner here for my son's 19th birthday. Excellent service, amazing food and Hot Saki is nice too. Coming back here for sure
First time here and won't be the last
Great value fresh and tasty food plenty of variety and very popular
Awesome food. Staff were quick getting the food to us. Had a great time. Loved all the dishes especially the octopus balls and the beef in white sesame sauce. Thank you.
Such an underrated place. So beautiful. Ambience is great, service is kind friendly and professional. Food was beautiful. Sophistication through simplicity as is the culture. Aboslutely recommend!
We were expecting good things from this restaurant, as we had gone to the Frankston one before but were unable to get a table due to it being booked out. We had a large group and it became quite a stressful experience. As the one who picked the restaurant I became the leader of ordering. It became apparent that this would be a hard job as we had to repeatedly ask for fork & spoons. We ordered the mains with fried rice. The mains got delivered but not the fried rice. We ate the mains without the rice and when that was delivered because I asked, it was bland, not suitable to be eaten by itself. I understand the japanese way of eating is different to western style. However, we should be sitting in seiza if we want to totally do that experience. The food was bland and I have eaten better sushi. The restaurant was packed so they are doing well. It wasn't my ideal type of restaurant.
Great pricing for the all you can eat option! Unfortunately that was the only positive about this place.
Majority of the food was tasteless, if you do the banquet option you can not order your own food (it comes out portioned to the number of people at your table) which was still not enough, meaning we had to order multiples of the same. Only around half the food we ordered actually came to the table.
The environment was very loud and seating was squishy, just like a jetstar flight.
Split bills are not accepted. Staff were friendly but run off their feet.
Great food but very subpar service, waitress charged for things that we didn't order/consume and even asked another staff member to fix it up (which they did) but was still sneakily charged for it anyway. Have been a couple of times definitely not as good as the Hampton one, foods more or less the same but the customer service just isnt there. Everytime we've gone to this one there's just always been something where as we've never had a problem with the Hampton one.
Fresh and tasty with reasonable price. I am giving 4 star because they only had ice cream in desert. Beef carpaccio was best.
