Okami - Caroline Springs

A great place to try a variety of Japanese food the service was excellent we had 3 people waiting for us everything ordered came out immediately I was very impressed buy the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. The food was fresh and hot straight off the stove there is only a small choice of refreshments but I found the tea was excellent helping to digest the huge amount of food I ate. I almost tried every dish and ate till I couldn't have anymore absolute great value for money. It's something you must experience.

Food is normal. Service is really bad. Our fried udon came out with human hair mixed in the noodle? !? That’s very disgusting and disappointing. We talked to 1 of the staffs and they just took the dish away? !? !? The chicken katsu wasn’t cooked properly, tasted awful! Very bad experience, won’t recommend to anyone else and won’t come back again.

The food is not the best. Less than average. It’s all you can eat but they hate taking your orders and make you feel like you can’t offer more.
The toilets are disgusting. Sign says keep toilets clean! I think it’s better if you clean the area than we can keep it clean.
Do not recommend this place at all, the Melton one has fresher food and excellent customer service compared to the CS one.

I was disappointed with the service and food at the caroline spring branch. All the wait staff were trying to rush us. Food was average and not very fresh. I ordered set menu for 2 and One separate dish for my son. But they charged me set menu price for 3 just coz I shared a lil bit of ice-cream with my son. I requested them to charge only for ice cream, but they were very rude and charged full set menu amount for a 5 year old boy. Very disappointing. They have lost a genuine customer for a lifetime.

I went here with my family for my birthday dinner. The food was average, and we waited over an hour just to get our second sushi platter. As a buffet restaurant, I genuinely felt that they held back the amount of sushis being made. It's very ironic because they are a sushi buffet. I've been to other Okami over the years this one was just not it. Maybe just order a sushi platter per person and not to share they will take the whole 2 hour session.

I read a lot of reviews about bad service.
I did not experience bad service.
The place is extremely busy and fast phased, it is a very affordable feed.
I think this needs to be kept in consideration.

Ordered a bento box takeaway today and the chicken with sauce was way too salty. Not a very pleasant flavour, every time i took a bite it the saltiness flavour felt too overpowering. The chicken was also difficult to chew on, not tender, and it did not taste that fresh at all. The last time I had this it was fine but this time i'm left with not feeling that great.

Dined in with 4 people and the food and service was the best! The chicken katsu is best dish to pick!

Had a excellent experience in this spot with my friends. One of our to-go places from now on.

Good variety of TERIYAKI CHICKEN - something for every taste. Excellent service. Reasonable prices.

I have been here before and we had a bad exprence didnt want to go back but i gave it a second try so we came back on a friday night with 10 people not even busy, what we ordered they gave us more then what we wanted. And the staff was rude didnt even say one word just left the food on the table and went. Also when we ordered some ice cream it took more then 45 mins to come out.they didnt even take any of our dishes away, I will come back ever again.

If you’re planning on dining here with a group, don’t bother. We dined in with a big group of 20+, including children, and they had terrible seating arrangement, and service was too slow. To make matters worse, they interrupted us while eating, demanding we “pay now” because we were a large group. Absolute poor service! Booking was made one week in advance. If pre-payment was required, this should have been clear before the reservation date or upon arrival. Compared to other Okami restaurants I’ve been to, this is by far the worst. A call out to the manager, please don’t accept group bookings if you’re not going to accommodate at least rearranging a few tables so a group can be seated altogether as opposed to scattering people across 5+ tables. There was adequate room to arrange this! I do not recommend this location and will never return. Sort it out mate

Wonderful restaurant. Very busy restaurant in weekend, but their service is excellent. The food is very delicious.

I have to say that we are very disappointed with your service as we have been to many of other Okami. It never happened for waiting so long for the food, and the staff has to let us go since the next group of people are coming, our orders not been served. The amount of dishes are smaller then other stores.

Very happy with the service and the food at okami Caroline springs. Okami is a great way to try new foods as portion sizes aren't too big. All you can eat allows you to eat what you like most and food is cooked fresh unlike most all you can eat that sits under a bain-marie. I would definitely go again.

Will definitely return in future and recommend restaurant. Friendly service. I ate like a sumo.
