Okami - Footscray reviews
69 Absolutely horrific experience. Attended Okami which states “all you can eat”. Within 1 hour only 4 dishes came out and it was poor quality. They also avoided our table and forgot 2 rounds of orders. And then asked if we wanted to order again, just after they took the first order which never came out.
There was 3 of us and only 4 very small entres came out in 1 hour.
We all got up and decided to leave.
We then drove to Basil Leaf on Brunswick Street and got what we paid for
Please avoid Okami Footscray
Delicious food however it served as a great break up place as it has a very emotionally playlist, me and my friend had a touching moment that put good friendship might not always be like that. Please don’t play sad music, it’s emotional
Today I visited Okami Footscray with 2 friends and it was by far the worst experience of my life (yes, of my entire life). We recieved 3 tiny entres over the space of an hour. I am certain that they were deliberately forgetting our orders to prevent us from being able to eat much. I have now developed a post traumatic eating disorder due to the tiny portions and torturous waiting time on my food. Unless you are literally an ant I would not reccommend this place.
The food was really good however not really Japanese taste, the food range also a bit low.
Customer service is very good.
We tried the steak, beef carpaccio, seaweed salad, squid salad, agedashi tofu, chawan mushi, chicken karaage, tempura and sushi/sashimi platter. Serving is medium to small which is great because we can try many things.
Flavour wise, they are not too bad except the steaks (too sweet and I can't taste the miso in the miso steak. My in laws like sweet stuff so they think it was alright).
All staff was great and very responsive. Food came out in reasonable time.
Decent food. Fried Chicken is not what I would call Japanese standard, more like chinese honey chicken. Eggplant dish was the best out of everything.
Great food and reasonably priced. First time having japanese food and after such lovely food I hope to have japanese food again.
Amazing all you can eat venue and would heavily recommend it for others to enjoy. Good variety just ensure to give yourself enough time to eat. Staff are amazing.
