Okami - Footscray

Really good service at Footscray Okami. Very attentive and friendly staff who attended us consistently and ensured we were able to order frequently.

We had the all you can eat menu. Staff were great, polite and service was pretty fast. Food was a huge let down though. Everything was swimming in liquid, seaweed salad was soaking wet and sitting in a puddle on the plate, gyoza was weirdly dripping wet and incredibly mushy inside and out. Serving sizes are adjusted for the number of people dining, so expect smaller sizes if there's only 2 or 3 of you. Food presentation was lacking and most dishes don't look like the menu photos. Can definitely get better for the price elsewhere. All in all it was a kind of weird experience, most of the time we were playing 'guess that plate liquid'.

Fresh and delicious food. Service was amazing. Each time we picked up the menu, someone came over to check if we wanted more or were just browsing. Polite, gentle and warm place to eat.

Extremely slow service with not enough staff!

The staff forgot about our cooked prawns 3 times, and when it came out after reminding them a fourth time, only 4 prawns for the 6 of us came out.

Found plastic inside our chicken and received no compensation for this.

Ordered the vegetarian gyoza, and when advised we had 2 minutes left in our sitting, it comes out, however we were ready to leave and pay.

Quite impressed with the quality food and quick service I was apprehensive at first but it has surprised me best book ahead very busy and as soon we came in at 5pm it filled up in ten minutes 8 definitely recommend this place remember only rule is finish what you order other there will be a surcharge and drink are extra charge 5 stars guys.

Very good service and great atmosphere. Price can be towards the expensive end for a meal but buffet price is actually relatively fair especially in comparison to other buffets. The taste of the food is amazing, which is evident from the fact that the restaurant is virtually always full. However, this popularity also means that a booking is usually required to obtain seating during prime hours

Food is good enough with price, there should be a choice for Sashimi Platter rather than Sushi platter for those who do not like to eat rice

This place is amazing! I've been here twice and loved it each time All the dishes are fantastic and it's insanely good value for money- I always leave super full and content. Our booking didn't go through the second time, but the waitress was so lovely and accommodating and I can't wait to reccomend this restaurant to others.

Food was plain and portion was small for the price. I couldn't have the all-you-can-eat option because I was bymyself.

First time eating here and even though we didn't book a table on a busy night they still seated us at a table, fantastic service and some of the best food! The wait between dishes could be a little slow but with the amount of food plus the quality, it's honestly worth it! 100% recommend and remember to book a table:)

The food was excellent but just wished the staff's weren't rushing by running and around.we finished the food in no time and had to wait so long just to get more. Place seemed understaffed and inefficient a solution would be putting tablets at each table so the customer can order on the go instead of waiting for food so food comes out quicker.

Fantastic little Japanese restaurant. Highly recommend one of the all you can eat sittings. Food is amazing

Loved their food and it was extremely warming the way they were serving food with smile and respect.

$38.50 all you can eat. Yes please service is good. Just remeber to ask what's left to come out and remind then when you are waiting.

In 1 hour they forgot our order
And in a 1 hour time frame only 4 little entres came out
They also purposely forgot orders and avoided letting us order more and pretended to forget

Delicious food. Fast and friendly service. It helps to check the menu on their website and pick out four dishes for your 1st order. Once your seated you can give your 1st order straight away and then while you wait you can check their menus for your next round of orders. I recommend the karaage and the miso steak.
