Ocean Catch Fish & Chips

Worst fish and chips I've ever had. Not cooked properly potato cakes still raw in side dim Sims any half cooked. Fish was over cooked. Glad I didn't get chips.

I try not to leave negative reviews but constructive if I must, but this is by far the poorest excuse for food I've unfortunately paid for and eaten.

Before I even ordered the demeanor of the staff radiated "I don't want to be here"

As soon as I reviewed my parcel I could smell how old the oil was. Inside this parcel laid the saddest, soggiest oil drowned chips I've ever seen. They had the consistency of watermelon - mushy and filled with liquid (oil)

Then came the potato cakes, I've had some hockey pucks in my time and these were just OK. Twenty seconds in the fryer off being leather discs. Near crunchy interior. Not everywhere nails these - OK I thought. Surely the fish can't be bad.

Well, I was mistaken. The flake I ordered somehow was flat and deflated, and suspiciously shaped like an actual fish - kind of like those schnitzels shaped like hearts that you know are just a hundred other bits of chicken mashed into a schnitzel shape.

The fish was the highlight and not because it was good. It was just not terrible.

I hope this place puts some more thought and effort into their food in the future. It could be really good and has a great location. Not today however.

Wish there was a 0 stars button. Not only is the service shocking, owner is quite happy to scream and shout if you make a complaint that your order was missing half the items. No compassion for customers and the half of our order that was packed majority got thrown in the bin as it was disgusting. Worst fish n chips ever.

The food is good however if you call and order they will not start to cook it until you come in and pay.
What is the point of pre ordering if you don't cook it before I get there.

Was quite a long wait but in saying that the food was awesome. Chips are to die for. Will def be back!

Overpriced and below expectation of basic fish and chips. Reason they didn't get 1 star was at least fish was fresh.

Close to the worst fish and chips I've had. Definitely would not recommend. The fish had like a brown/grey kind of colour and was very dry and tasteless (maybe frozen for a long time?). Chips were soggy and greasy. Not good at all!

Ordered by phone as I had no other choice being a monday and nye, everything was in a couple of layer of paper when I got home 10 minutes later car seat was soaked in oil and the package was still leaking oil, the 2 flake in the order were pulverised to piece and mushed into everything else. The potato cakes were floppy and rubbery. Spoke to Riley who said he could redo the order, I said I didn't want to come out again and eventually he said next time you come in maybe the boss will do you a deal. That was it now I have to pay to get my car seat cleaned. Avoid at all cost far better fish and chip shops in Mornington and if all are closed pick a different type of food.
