Nobu reviews
75Can't book a table because of my medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask. Yet everyone is allowed to take it off once they sit down and get their drinks or food. Not only is this discrimination disgusting but also illegal.
Terrible place.
They are discriminated against disabled people with exemptions from entering. They are committing a crime, and lacking empathy.
Almost letting some of your best customers almost died because of poor quality food and then saying, you can’t prove it was us and then ending a call is absolutely suss. Don’t think I’m ever coming here at all
Awesome Japanese food. Especially love the bento boxes. Miso cod is to die for.
Staff are always friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They will even adapt the bento box to suit pregnant ladies.
Nice and cosy setting. Vegetarian dishes are good, especially the eggplant and broccoli dishes. Rich in flavour.
I love Japanese food, but my husband does not. I have been to Nobu before, and wanted to show him the best Japanese cuisine can offer. I took him to Nobu on Christmas day. Service was slow, table was sticky and food was very ordinary. Fine dinning it was not. There was no point in dressing up and pay $$$ for this experience. The manager was great and apologetic. Next time I would like fine dinning, there are a number of other restaurants next to Nobu that I will go to, and if I want good Japanese, my local Japanese restaurant serves better quality and variety of food.
We came here to celebrate my sister's 60th. So, I wasn't going to order Bento boxes. We ordered 7 dishes, 2 desserts and coffee from the a la carte menu. Most were delicious but I am not a fan of the new style salmon - too oily and drowning the natural sweetness of the salmon. My favorite is the wagyu beef taco - big, bold flavor. The black cod with miso does not disappoint - sweet, silky and buttery. It is expensive - the bill was $349, but we were happy and full.
Was there on a busy Saturday night, slow service, food standard seems to have gone down compare to our visits years ago.
Some dishes were absolutely delicious, others not so. Overall, an excellent venue, great wait staff and a great location.
3.5 star A group of us went to Nobu for a friend’s 40th birthday. I have been to Nobu a few times and wasn’t really impressed with them to be honest.they are a bit overpriced I felt and their service can be a bit meh. However on this occasion I was quite impressed with their service and the food was (whilst still quite overpriced), pretty good.
We started off with the Dom for $45 a glass and 2 tacos ($10). That was pretty nice and apparently fairly good value for money as one bottle of Dom is about $360 at Nobu.
The kingfish sashimi w jalapeños was nice, but I really liked the salmon w nashi pear and yuzu.
Next up was the famous black cod with miso, that one is always nice (although I always felt that it’s overpriced). The beef short ribs w corn salsa was also impressive, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
The soft shell crab sushi was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. While the others were impressed by it, I could taste the oiliness of the deep fried soft shell crab so wasn’t as impressed.
For dessert, the chocolate fondant was a bit grainy, like there are bits of sugar in there. It was also a bit too sweet. The matcha ice cream was nice though.
The coffee whiskey dessert was amazing, although it can use a bit more thought in presentation.
The service here saved it quite a number of points. My shoes were killing me for some reason yesterday and the waiter kindly gave me a huge bunch of bandaid, and I used almost all of it cos I needed double the pain protection!
Will I go back? I think I might just go back to the Dom and two tacos lol
I went there when I had my birthday! The food and service are impressive. Of course it comes with price, probably it is the only reason why I give 4 star instead of 5!
Initially we were led to wait in bar area to wait our table ready! Probably 10 mins later we were taken downstairs to our corner table which my husband requested online. It is a bit dark environment, dim lights, creating romantic and intimacy!
A little bit confusion how to order the food, when the waitress came to us to explain the menu, all the dies are designed to be shared! It was our first time dining in Nobu, we thought we would still be hungry after we finished our meal since it is fine dining! Surprisingly we ordered 3 dishes and 1 dessert, we were full!
I think I would visit more if it is a bit cheaper!
I'm giving 3 star as I'm not fully satisfied with the taste on some of the food. It's not giving me that "wow" factor for its costs.
Well presented, fantastic customer service and ambience is great though!
I do love the seafood and drinks at Nobu. Just not sure about the meat dishes. I think they do seafood really well. We saw some diners having the chefs degustation and that looked beautiful. Next visit.
Delicious cocktails and great service, all with a great vibe and gorgeous views. Will be returning for the food next time
We have eaten Japanese around the world and Nobu would be in our least preferred restaurants. Tables weren't cleaned well, food was a poor example of modern Japanese food and service slow. Nobu is very loud inside making it hard to hear people on your own table. Cocktails are nice.
Service was impeccable and the food was lovely. A little smallish in serves and a bit on the expensive side for what you get. Overall happy Witt everything and will come again.
Food was sensational, flavours, flavours, flavours.
Service was top notch, we had a great attentive waiter who i wouldn't mind being friends with.
My only let down was the noise, but it was also charming to be in such a jovial place.
Will have to be back soon
Great food and service. Sat at the sushi bar and was able to talk to the chef making amazing sushi and sashimi. Fantastic night. They made us feel very special. Thank you.
Easy to find seat, but service takes forever. Tried it 3 times now. 3-4 hours to get out 8 plates. Pushy and territorial service too. Food was forgettable, other than the iconic fish.
They are using the Nobu name, but quality and taste of food is far from Nobu brand. Extremely overpriced for the portion sizes and the food.
We started by ordering couple of rolls and couple of entrees and the waiter said "Thats it? I don't think that's enough food" (in my mind i was thinking did we ask for your opinion?) i right away knew this place is more of a money grab than a nice restaurant. Very pushy.
The sushi rolls were not good at all, were not well prepared and were falling apart on the plate ($16-18 per roll).
The fish and chips was really good.surprisingly, it was the cheapest thing we ordered.
The king prawn appetizer priced at $28 was not good at all, way too spicy and undercooked veggies.total experience was not great and a shame to the Nobu brand.be prepared to spend about $75-100 per person and leave unsatisfied.
