Nobu reviews
75 Great service, great flavours, great vibe!
Black cod is a must, sushi is okay and servings are smaller but this is fine dining
It’s always a delight to dine here. From my birthday celebration to a quick get away for the weekend with friends. Nobu never disappoints. Phenomenal food, amazing service and lovely staff.
So fresh and delectable! Oysters, scallops and cod are a must. We did the Nobu set menu - 6 course degustation. Highly recommend.
The crispy rice with spicy tuna was hands down the worst dish I’ve eaten. The cubes of crispy rice were virtually inedible and the tuna was anything but spicy. It was like a plate of expensive cat food. Steer completely clear of the Wagyu Beef Gyoza was the second worst dish I’ve eaten. The tuna tacos were amazing so if you must go stick to them.
Food and service was about what I would expect from a restaurant like Nobu and the cocktails were definitely a standout. Unfortunately they seem to be either struggling financially or don’t care about the standard of people they allow to dine there. I didn’t pay $400 dollars to be sitting amongst people in basketball jerseys, Nike shorts, and thongs. It certainly was not like that the first time I dined there.standards have definitely take a turn for the worst and some kind of dress code preventing the great unwashed from entering would be welcomed
Came for the Christmas set menu 2021. Food was fantastic, a diverse mixture of flavours and textures. Clearly spent time developing this set menu. Well done. Also shout out to the staff who were again, fantastic
Staff were friendly. Restaurant was tired, noisy and the table was sticky. Food very ordinary. Not at all what I expected.
Price was actually very respective for the great food they provided. I went in a-little off but still could taste everything about the hype. Jordan from Nobu Melbourne was a great waitress too. See you guys very soon again
Miso COD is a must try
We tried an omakase set meal we left with a very full belly
The menu selection is nice, it ranges from delish fried Quail, good steak and that amazing Black COD miso yum!
the service is top notch and we really have a good time. Will come back for more
Had the banquet and was very impressed. Nobu signature dishes are incredible. Expensive but worth it.
Finally got to visit again after not being able or have the time to go and it was fantastic! Staff were super attentive, food was absolutely divine and overall ambience was great couldn’t recommend enough!
Overpriced and average quality. We ordered oysters and sashimi. Oyster are not fresh, and the sashimi are on par with every other take away sushi places.
If you're looking to spend a little more on a special occasion, Nobu has what you need. Pricey, but with beautiful lighting and atmosphere, polite and knowledgeable staff that can answer any questions (and are happy to), and well crafted dishes. We got the beef gyoza, umami chicken wings, Wagyu tacos, and on recommendation from our waitress Martha (thanks so much Martha), the crispy rice and tuna, which was our favourite thing.
Pricey, but with the service provided, well earned.
Great Ambience and Food! Baby Tiger Prawns with Creamy Spicy Sauce reccomended. A great alternate to Dynamite Shrimps from P. F. Chang
Service was awful. The hostess was rude. That said the food was good.
My wife and I were looking to spend an afternoon enjoying some very good wine and food at what we thought would be a great spot on the river. The experience did not live up to expectations and I felt like we were treated with contempt by the hostess.
We won’t ever return.
Sooooooooooo disappointing. Its a japanese
Macdomalds! There is no class or magic here,
just expensive rice.and the manager was sooo rude.he needs training in customer service and manners.and his a liar
It was soooo great that when my bf’s birthday came around we’re out of lockdown so that we could book a dinner at Nobu?
We shared all of these dishes:
Nobu Style Seafood Ceviche
Prawn Tempura Rolls
Aburi Salmon & Tamagoyaki
Salmon Tartare with Caviar, Wasabi soy
? Scallops with Wasabi Pepper Sauce
? Wagyu Gyoza with Goma Ponzu
Mochi Ice creams
We loved every single dish we tried! We could definitely tell the great quality of the ingredients they used and we loved the way the dishes presented also the combination of flavors in each meal.
We didn’t really enjoy the wagyu gyoza though as we found that they were a bit too greasy and there wasn’t a lot of flavor to enjoy.
My favorite was the Seafood Ceviche, it’s such a great appetizer that highlighted the freshness of the seafood and it got our taste buds ready for more meals to come. My bf’s favorite was the Prawn Tempura Rolls cause he’s always obsessed with prawn tempura
The mochi ice creams were amazing! We honestly didn’t know they were going to be that big that’s why we opted to try all their available flavors like chocolate, strawberry, matcha and red bean (not 100% sure about the flavors). Also, how nice were they to put a candle and birthday message? !?
We do recommend for you to visit, we’re keen to try their lunch menu next time!
8 people with Omakase without the Omakase experience.
Came here on a Monday night to dine with my friends.
The Omakase course (7 course) was $175 per head. Alcoholic bevs averaged about $20 per drink.
Overall, the food was quite okay but not worth the price. We thought we'd be paying for experience. However there was not much to experience. I do prefer Nobu over other fine dinings like Akaiito. Maybe on par with Kisume.
Staffs were extremely nice. So that's the bonus.
Nice play to eat and chat. Not sure if I'd come back again though.
My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. The food was Devine. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning
Great to have Nobu back up and offering customers a dine in option, though you may want to specify downstairs seating when you book if that's what you're intending. Upstairs is lovely for big groups, but I much prefer the quiet, dark, intimacy of the traditional dining downstairs. As ever, the black cod miso is a stand out, wagyu with salsa is a must, and the salmon carpaccio now has my heart! Charred edamame was a little over zested; the tacos are always a great appetiser amongst other things. Cocktail offerings could use a refresh, and the cleanliness/tiredness of the toilets upstairs needs a bit of gentle consideration. Wait staff are always very helpful, and in this case incredibly considerate of us wanting to be moved somewhere 'baby free' (crying).
