Next Practice Prahran

Best clinic I’ve ever been to. Been a few times and they are consistently helpful, professional and take the time to listen. This isn’t a “churn and burn” clinic like so many are, so if you’re wanting to go back to a time when you said “my doctor” and know they put your health first, then come here. My biggest “problem” is deciding which doctor to book with amongst the 5 brilliant ones I’ve seen! Dr Gihan de Mel, Dr Liam Egan (provides thorough skin checks), Dr Margaret Gusah, Dr Alyssa Kelly…. All excellent choices! So naturally I referred my mum to this practice and she tells me she saw a fabulous doctor (who I haven’t seen), Dr Terri Cluse. So clearly the culture at this clinic is right. 100% recommend them and I hope they continue to manage the practice the way they do as it is an absolute gem!

Good experience here. Staff were all really nice and were able to squeeze me in for a same day appointment. Doctor was really nice bloke too.

I received a fairly serious knee injury playing sport and needed an appointment as early as possible to start the process of referrals for MRI's, surgery etc and my regular GP was booked. I booked with Next Practice on Health Engine and picked a doctor whose bio said they specialised in sports medicine. The practice is nice enough however my experience was awful.

Before I was allowed to see the doctor I was taken for "triage", which involved taking my height, weight and waist measurement like it was 1950. When I got into the doctor's office she was quite erratic and strange and questioned my lifestyle, weight etc, which, if it had been related to my reason for attending is fine however changing to an organic diet is not going to sew my ACL back together. After being told I should lose weight and stop drinking alcohol, neither of which were going to repair my ACL, I eventually got the referrals I needed and paid close to $200 for the appointment. Might be great for diet advice but would absolutely not recommend for any kind of serious injury.

Its a nice looking practice but the best doctor is no longer there so don’t bother, look elsewhere.

I have been going to Next Practice for the last 12 months or so. The doctors here are fantastic and really take the time to listen to you. It is also a beautiful clinic in a great location!

It is a pretty enough practice, but be very careful. When my doctor moved practices and I wanted to get my notes transferred, they were incredibly difficult. They refused to transfer the whole record, and it appears their only motivation would be to make it more difficult for my doctor to be able to treat me easily and efficiently. When I politely asked to have my "complete" notes, not only did they tell me that the private notes taken during my consults with my GP were actually property of the practice but they then threatened to call the police on me when I asked for further clarification. Why a clinic would want to keep the private consult portion of a patients notes that will no longer be a patient with them, then further, refuse to even send them to your GP even if you pay the $16.50 fee is beyond me! Unless they are using the notes transfer fee as a money making exercise? I.e if 300 people leave and they charge $16.50, then they are making a cool 4800 dollars out of the process.
So it appears, if you want to leave this practice, it will be difficult to go to your " next practice", so only come here if you never ever intend to leave. So you are stuck in Victoria for ever. Good luck.

I first went to Next Practice Prahran about 18 months ago and I don’t think I’d ever want to go elsewhere. The staff from the front desk through to the nurses and various doctors are welcoming, professional and actually show some care for your health which is unlike most providers out there. The doctors are also always running on time. Would very highly recommend the team from Next Practice!

Dr Alyssa Kelly and Dr Nisha Iyer are really great. They are super helpful and friendly and provide amazing advice, I highly recommend them. A great location and experience overall.

Not a great experience, had a child with a high temperature that they didn’t want to see, which I understand it’s a lockdown then did a 8 min Tele-health consult which cost $100 and really you wasn’t much help, only to be directed to seek a client facing consultation.
Ended up going to emergency with my child for review (thought GP’s were meant to take strain off the hospital system) and while there had them chasing me for payment. Note they only bulk bill for children Monday- Friday 10am-4pm

Absolutely amazing experience all round, very professional and a beautiful calming space. The entire team were all super friendly. Dr Jen listened to my concerns, gave great advice, acted on my best interests and authentically cared. Highly recommend.

I would like to acknowledge the amazing work from the staff at this practice. From the calm and attentive reception and nursing staff that go above and beyond, to my new incredible Dr Jen that offers holistic health care like I have never experienced. She works so hard to ensure she has explored every possible avenue for you. She will follow up with emails, calls - even outside of her working hours. Everyone needs and deserves a doctor, and practice like this. Thank you!

This is not a child friendly practice! The doctors here speak to small children as if they were adults and seem have have very little experience communicating with them. There is nothing child friendly on the ways or hanging to distract them. It is a very clinical environment.
I was told today not to attend any appointments with both of my children for their safety, staff safety and patients!
Attend alone if it the appointment was for myself.
My children are high energy and yes they were jumping on the exam bed - BUT THEY ARE CHILDREN!

On another occasion I had a follow up appointment for my daughter who had a very bad UTI, the doctor didn’t look at the records or follow up urine sample that was taken at emergency. He simply told me “no no, if she had a UTI for three weeks she would be very unwell and in hospital. Take her off the antibiotics straight away, she’s most likely just constipated!
I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by this practice and their dealings with small children. (Ages 3&4)

Amazing aesthetics and beautifully planned out, but the difference in this clinic is all in the staff. They are beyond helpful and are all incredibly knowledgeable. I found out later that it is because they are either nurses or are health care trained.in some way. Dr Jen is a fantastic GP and goes out of her way to assist her patients in any way.

Amazing receptionist with gentle and kinda
nature and GP Nisha as well, listens to all questions and answered to the best of her ability! Highly recommend this place, clean environment and great patient care.

Highly recommend. The most professional and compassionate medical clinic and doctors, who treat you as more than a number and truly get to the bottom of the problem.

Next Practice Prahran is a beautiful space. The doctor I saw was really knowledgeable and made me feel right at home. Would definitely recommend

I’ve had only excellent experiences here. Not only is the practice welcoming and calming but the Dr’s are fantastic as they’re highly knowledgeable, very thorough and are caring too. I particularly like bringing my children here as they’re very supportive of young kids too.
