New Shanghai Emporium Melbourne reviews
68This place has amazing Xia Long Baos. All their dishes are pretty consistent and trying something new has never let me down.
Nice dumpling place in the heart of Melbourne. Love to come here when I’m in the city. Great variety of menu items other than just dumplings. Love their pan fried pork buns, they are so juicey! Tried spring onion pancakes on my last visit and there was no taste of sight of any spring onions on or in the pancakes! (Disappointing)
My noodle was literally "noodle" with a few of minced pork (it was nearly 10 pieces) and 6-7 baby Bok choy.it was okay if you are craving noodle only with very collectable amount of veggies and meat.
But All drinks and xiaolong baos were so nice. Mocktails were so great and kiwifruit juice was amazing, Xiaolong bao was beautiful.
It was nice experience while i was there only 2010 Korean songs were played (which I like) with good bao and my lovely boyfriend
Authentic Shanghainese food, nice setting, reasonable price. The pork dumplings and XO fried rice are strongly recommended.
Not sure why this place isn’t better reviewed. The service is quick and courteous, the menu has a wide variety and the food is delicious. The dumplings here are great, and we have had many other delicious dishes here like crispy skin chicken, pan fried beans, tofu etc.
I tried the prawn dumplings and the Shanghai noodles. They were delicious. A family member had the crispy skin chicken, they were disappointed that it tasted dry. Excellent customer service here, waiters were very polite and asked if we were enjoying our meals.
A lot of reviewers mention service issues but I have been here half a dozen times and have always been promptly greeted and served, even when busy. The food has never disappointed, although the dumplings I tried were a bit average in taste and texture and didn't make me want to order them again. I tend to steer towards vegetarian with rice options and they have been great. I am happy to visit here when in the CBD.
