New Quay International Buffet reviews
61 Good food, but the fish they used in hot dishes are pretty bad.
I understand they are trying to save some money, but that piece of fish is really bad.
If you are just here, living nearby or standing around. It's not a bad choice for a hearty dinner with many choices.
But it doesn't deserve to drive from far or intend planning to explore.
Many choice including some Chinese styles hot dishes.
At leat 5 kind of seafood are provided to choose at night. But taste so-so, and can't garantee it's very very fresh.
BTW. Service is not very good and the staff are not proactive.
Overall. It's convenient and price is not cheap but make sense.
Can't say it's bad. But better control your expectation.
This place is absolutely wonderful have to book in advance I come here once a month the food is astronomical the freshness is magnificent it is classy you must dress up a little bit for it it is worth the money every day of the week highly recommended
Always a beautiful lunch at New Quay.
If you are looking for a nice seafood meal especially, you will not be disappointed.
Great food and the sort of friendly and polite service a restaurant needs. Will certainly be back!
Worst restaurant I have ever experienced in Melbourne. Too expensive. In that case, I'll go to Crown. I paid $73 and got 10 pieces of oysters. It's a buffet and no refills. Someone took a TikTok in the restaurant. This place is worth eating for $30. No sushi rolls, no sushi. There is only a little salmon sashimi. Different from the photo provided.
Saturday lunch out with my friend after 4th lock down finished.
Very excited to eat in with harbour view from the table.
I love seafood so this place is heaven for me!
Lots of choice of seafood. Salmon sashimi & sushi, prawns, mussels, shells, octopus. And more.
Mini size dessert is great. We can try lots of them. My favorite was puddings.
Staff on the floor were very attentive.
Overall great experience.
Thank you!
Seafood no seasoning whatsoever.
Rest of dishes below standard.
Only thing that was good was the freshly cooked steak and the mini desert's.
Nearly $70 per person.
I would feel guilty to charge anyone that much for food well below average.
Even the foodstar buffet has better quality food at only $30 per person.
This I have to say is one of the worst reviews I have ever had to give.
Not bad food but not much selection for the price the dessert is DELICIOUS very expensive though.
Great food and great service. Plates were taken away from the table as soon as they are empty. Food was replenished quickly, so the hot dishes could be enjoyed hot. Not like in some places where the hot dishes cooked in bulk and by the time you want to enjoy it, it is already cold. Tables are placed very thoughtfully to not to overcrowd. We had a great time. Would visit again.
It was very disappointing. Quality was expectedly not great for the price but there was a lack of variety and quantity. It used to be decent, but the standards have dropped.
Dinning out at New Quay was a delight. Friendly helpful staff. Relaxed, all you can eat seafood was fresh. A variety of dishes to pick from. Also desserts are many. Will definately go back. Close to Marvel Stadium and the Pier is a pretty walk at night. Thank you New Quay.
We have celebrated my son Birthday and the manager has been very Kind to us and provide exceptional services. We love the food and the outstanding customer services. Thank you so much being so Kind.
Absolutely not worth $68 at dinner. The selection was already limited and yet most of the food was the same standard as a substandard Chinese restaurant. The only good things were oysters and sashimi but they took very long to refill the plates even though it was what most people wanted! The plates were old, grey and many of them were not washed properly. The servers were dressed quite unprofessionally, specifically, one was wearing an adidas sweatshirt and there was no uniformity like what you should expect from an expensive restaurant. Spend your money elsewhere.
Bad food all it’s cool as ice bad stuff especially the chef inside the bar very bad attitude it’s an indian I think
as people know the food are not good at all and no fresh but they take a higher price but with bad experience.won’t try anymore
In my opinion, this is not a good buffet for its price. The ingredients are good, but not the taste.
Worst experience ever. I booked my reservation and paid 50 dollar deposit. But because of the sudden lockdown restriction policy from the vic government, i am not able to go anymore. And i have been trying to reach out to them and called them for 2 days, no one picked up the phone. I have paid 50 dollars for nothing! Completely unacceptable!
Not bad but not exceptional. Deserts are good but other dishes are just fair.
Remember all wine and BEVERAGES are charge separately.
The sea food buffet was good. I had my birthday at this place and everyone ate enough.
Wealth the price will have a second go.
Not an amazing place atm. Some of the quality of the seafood that it is known for is a hit and miss. Prawns was fresh but the salmon sashimi was not and wasn't the best cuts that it could've been so it wasn't tasty. Service is lacking. Don't get the lobster, they charge you extra on top of the all you can eat. Had it and it was overcooked and some of my friends had burnt lobster. We didn't know we were getting charged extra (we even confirmed it with the waiter) until the we got the bill. Overall, not a great experience.
