Nelayan Restaurant reviews
67The best Indonesia restaurant in Melbourne with reasonable price and nice staff. Recommend for people who are looking for Halal food in Melbourne CBD. I love their beef rendang and sambal! Will come back for sure
Always be my favourite place when I go to Melbourne. A lot of asian restaurant on the same street. I tried the buffet, Ayam Penyet, the Meatball, but don’t even try the Ayam Geprek if you don’t like spicy. Even for me who love spicy food, this Ayam Geprek is on God level of spicy. But it’s very tasty tho. The owner were so friendly. But the staff not so friendly especially the cashier. I guest they need to smile more to make the guest feel welcome.
The food is nice, the waitress is friendly, the price is considered cheap as it is in the cbd. Should come and try sometimes
Nelayan Restaurant is fantastic. Cheap prices and quality food. Few signature dishes include the fried thin noodles, fried chilli or tail, beef and tripe soup, and the chicken noodle soup. Highly recommended for a quick feed.
Their credit card payment option requires 20 dollar spending in the least. The collection of foods are not very rich but foods are delicious.
This is the BEST Indonesian restaurant in Melbourne! They sell a wide range of Indonesian cuisine which are made to order, such as Soto. They also have Nasi Rames, which you can choose 2 or 3 dishes with rice. I love their bread, the flavor is very authentic Indonesian. You can't find such bread in other Asian bakeries in Melbourne. Remember there is a minimum of $20 if you are going to use Credit Card.
I love the foods at nelayan restaurant. The food is delicious and the portion is big but the service is poor. The staff was busy with her phone while taking the order. No smile no say any words or Thankyou. The restaurant was not busy but I don’t know why the service is poor. Is it how this restaurant serving their customers? I am Feel so disappointed. Please more quality check about your staff service
Sehr gutes und scharfes Bami Goreng gegessen. Einfaches Restaurant mit guter und schneller Küche. Wieder mal.
When we were in Indonesia we had oxtail soup every day - that is how good it was:) So when we were walking by and saw the oxtail soup on the menu, we decided to try it (eventhough we already had lunch), and we were not disappointed:) Oxtail soup was very tasty and filling! Enjoyed it very much! Especially on a chilly day it is a treat:)
Reccomend:)
Cheers:)
Not as great as authentic Indonesian food of course, but close enough. Really big portions = value for money
We went here the Christmas Day. I have no comment on dishes here, but as an Indo, my boyfriend gave a four-star
I had few lunch and dinner in here. It was good and you felt at home because the taste was almost the same as Indonesian food. If you did not eat so much, you should ask the server half portion of its or just took the food to bring home/hotel.
Gulai was delicious, i went in the first time and the staff were as freindly plus they didnt have any of the desserts I ordered.
Simple & good place to have halal Indonesian food. We came in quite a big group, 16 of us. Having white rice, fried chicken, fried meat & various menu. The sambal just love it. So tasty.
Halal place in chinatown, Melbourne city. Chicken soup (Soto ayam) is my favourite menu. Martabak manis (terang bulan) is available
It was my first visit to any Indonesian restaurant. I had ordered Nasi Goreng, Chicken Satay and ice coffee. Food was delicious and staff was friendly. Will visit them again to try some other Indonesian dishes.
Great location, in CBD if you want to have Indonesian and halal food. Some of the menus are not authentic but overall quite similar you can find different kind of Indonesian food.
OMG this place is simple but the food is for your soul. I really live the food when is done with love. Simple humble food. It is a bit spicy so keep in mind. The prices are reasonable. Location is great.
Very Ordinary. I like Indonesian cuisine and this disappointed me. Ordered the seafood nasi goreng - looked nothing like the "example photo" in the window which had cucumber slices, fresh chili and looked appetizing. Mine had no colour except for the food dyed prawn cracker (why?), fish ball cut in 1/4's, 2 prawns and no vegetables at all. Worst meal I have had in a while.
Best Indonesian food, since I went there for study 20 years ago, their food and price is just amazing, something that I will always look for whenever I visit Melbourne. When you crave for Indonesian food and wants the ability to choose as many dishes as you like without worrying not be able to finish it, this is where you go.
