Nelayan Restaurant reviews
67Well done for hiring a welcoming staff. I come to eat there regularly but I had very bad experiences in the past, ridiculous portion, rude staff etc. But during my last visit, I had great pleasure, everything was very good, the waitress was great, that's all I expect from a restaurant. I hope it will stay the same now. See you soon.
Nice place to eat.and always remember home tone Indonesia when IM eat here food is really delicious and good service.
Delicious Bakso with lemon and chilli, good price. Love it so much? Good customer service. Will come back again. Value for money
First time Indonesian for me today.
Very very good.
Beef Rendang and the Oxtail Clear Soup was so tender.
I think they are Indonesian staff, chef etc so I guess it's real Indonesian!
So I will go back and I will recommend.

The best Indonesian food I've ever had! Loved it very and and will definitely be coming back again!
This Indonesian restaurant is located in the heart of Melbourne CBD.on Swanston street.so you cannot miss this place when you're walking along this busiest street in the CBD.
The food is quite good.you can try sweet and sour fish or Rendang.
They also sell traditional Indonesian snacks.for everyone who misses their home made cakes.
We bought curry puff but there is only noodles inside the curry puff. Why is it noodles in the curry puff? They taste awful. The rice texture is very chewy and the beef gravy is tasteless. Waste my money and time.
Authentic Indonesian restaurant
One of the best halal Indonesian restaurants
Lunch deal is perfect for students also they have free tea for everyone
I’d give 5 star if they didn’t charge for 1.5% extra while paying by card
Im indonesian and yes this is my emergency food when im feeling homesick, i travel 2 hours from home to get here.
This use to my go to place for lunch when In UNI back 15years ago^ and surprisingly foods still taste delicious as always this day. So disappointed ️ forgot to take a pic to share> ordered seafood fried noodles and Indonesian desert for dinner, soooo yummy miss this foodstuffs.
It's stayed the same for over 18 years. Delicious Indonesian halal food, plenty of dishes to choose from. I normally take their rice plus 3 dishes and their hot chilli on the side. Personally i love their soups as well, they go so well with the rice dishes. A seasoned favourite restaurant

DISSAPOINTED! Went there on sunday 14february 2021 at 4pm, when arrived they already close the light for bain marie and when they gave me the food which is take away and i directly eat because i worked close to nelayan, its not hot and the potato which is “ perkedel” is already smell not good which is kind of stale.i did ask them and complain on instagram but they only read my messages:) they didnt say anything.
WONT BUY ANYMORE
Recommended place to eat Indonesian food in Australia. They serve lots variety of authentic Indonesian dishes. Rendang, gado2, nasi kuning, soto betawi, soto ayam, ayam goreng, bakmi ayam.and many more.everything is good n tasty especially the Rendang. They also have very nice freshly baked homemade bread.
It is a "Must Try" restaurant whenever you visit Melbourne.
Not worth the hype from my friends and other people recommending me an Indonesian place. Convenient location though.
Went there and the food was average tasting despite people telling me it's tastes really good. Maybe I'm not used to the Indonesian palette to make a valid assessment, but I'm a former chef. Customer service was very good.
Yum! Ordered siomay, pempek, soto betawi and nasi kuning with tempeh, none of them disappointed me! Thumbs up! Have been binge eating to 3other Indonesian restaurants in a week, definitely the best one!
Foods okay but for a small store with food trays the wait can be ridiculous if you’re in a rush on your lunch break
Good food, good price with good place to eat. I try their soto ayam and bakso is same as the original that taste bring me back to Indonesia. Awesome! Will be back again to have another meals to try, won't regret
Tried the Grilled bream fish and it's yummy! Also, the price is affordable, they do rice with 3 dishes only for $12.50 and it all tasted good.
Finally found a perfect place to fill up my belly at the lunch time. Not gonna lie, the combination of the yellow rice with dry beef and vegies is my favorite. They told me that the yellow rice is only available on weekends tho. Cant wait to try the white rice combination!
