Mrs Kim's Grill reviews
88I ordered the all you can eat. Meat came out on time at the start, but the more into it we got the longer the meat took to come out, almost as if they were purposefully sending the food out later so the 90 mins would run out. For the 34 dollars I'm spending I expect my food out on time.
There certainly seems to be a change in ownership/management. The food and service is definitely not as close as it used to be. The food is mediocre and not up to the standard I am used to.
A very popular and compact place set up for Korean BBQ grill. We ordered two separate sets to have between the four of us. It was just perfect. The meats, soups and salads were tasty. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. You order from an iPad that is kept on a ledge under the table top. You get 90 minutes for your sitting. The place is quite well ventilated. Parking can be a challenge in this area, be prepared to walk. The place had a vibrant up beat air.
Good for a casual catch-up. Quite crowded but they have extended into a back tent area which spans 2 shop fronts so they serve a lot of people in 1 go. Reasonable pricing but uses gas not charcoal so flavour is not the same as other BBQ places. Portion size is just right. Order 3-4 meats for 2 people works out the same as the cheaper all you can eat option with more choice. Sake is well priced, Soju is expensive.
My friends and I went here for the all you can eat offer for 90 minutes and were left quite disappointed with the service. After about an hour the food we ordered just simply stopped coming with no explanation, or came out after a long extended time. This obviously seemed like a tactic to limit how much you can have in the "all you can eat" special and was pretty disappointing after we spend over $200 here. The food was pretty good when we actually got it though.
Very good experience, the most important was great customer service, me and my friends ate as much as we could for a very reasonable price, food was good. Perfect place for groups of 3 or more. Definitely a place i won't stop visiting.
Our family of 5 had the $34 All You Can Eat menu and it was fabulous. Quality meat and a good selection: The staff were quick to bring out the orders. We’ll definitely be back again to try the $47 All You Can Eat.
Not recommend. Order 54$ for two. The menu includes more than 500g meat. However, around 350-400g was not meat. It was the beef bone. $54 for two people even didn’t feel full. Not valuable.
Used to be my favourite local Korean BBQ restaurant, no longer is since tonight.
Walked in wanted a table for 2, were advised that the wait was 20 mins, we were happy to wait and since the wait was a little bit long, we left to buy some milk tea in the mean time. After 5 mins i got a text saying my table was ready so i rushed back, left my boyfriend waiting to pick up my tea since we’d already ordered it. I sat down first then started ordering then my boyfriend came in after, first thing the Korean manager/owner said to my boyfriend was not a greeting but “You’re not allowed to bring outside drink in here”. We were quite unhappy with the attitude since we were loyal customers here, we knew the deal and it would not hurt anyone to deliver their message in a nicer way.
Once my boyfriend sat down another Asian male staff with pushed back hair ran to our table and told us we were not allowed to bring outside food in with a serious face. At that point i was fuming. We didn’t bring the drink in on purpose, it was meant to be a quick resolution during waiting time of which they decided to cut short. We were not criminals, we were customers, the drink was still sealed and we didn’t even attempt to drink it but putting it nicely on the corner of our table. My boyfriend calmed me down, told me probably they were tired so they might’ve delivered the message the wrong way.
We started ordering, there was some issue with our order that they wouldn’t do for us even though they had done that for us a million times in the past, they said things’d changed, okay we accepted that. Started getting served by the attitude boy, no smile no interaction no changing grill plate for us. The fire they put on for us was too high so meat got burnt quickly and my boyfriend attempted to lower it but it got turned off accidentally, we asked the staff to help us lit it back on and the attitude rolled over again. During our meal we would have occasional checks, some sided eye looks from the staff i was not sure why, maybe to make sure that we were not drinking our bubble tea so they wouldn’t have to call police upon us ️
There are hundreds of Korean BBQ restaurants out there that have nice food, nice location and good price. The only reason i come to this place often is because i want to support local businesses and i enjoy the customer service i used to have here. After today I won’t come back, probably you won’t care since you’re busy still with or without an upset customer anyway but words of advice, be better human beings and treat your customers with respect as they deserve it.
Not sure if the owner/management changed in the last couple of years but their food and service were no where close to what it used to be.
The all you can eat option was amazing, it costs 47 AUD per person and was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend to go there for any special nights/events/celebrations with friends or family.
A true adventure into Korean BBQ grill. The Kimchi was A1, the meats were well marinated and the vegetables were very tasty. The noodles were lovely and the Korea Fried Chicken was just right. Nothing let me down and the service was fantastic.
I came for a small catch up with girls from work over the weekend and we all loved it. A great night out. The food and pricing is great.
Stumbled to this beautiful Korean Bbq place in Carnegie. Too bad we missed out on the AllYouCanEat. I love how easy it is to order, we dont need to order through a server, we just use the ipad they provided. Everything is simple but made delicious! It would’ve been perfect if they serve Romaine lettuce or oak lettuce instead of the hard wedge of iceberg lettuce. But Ill surely come back!
Really good and value for money Kbbq place!:) We came here recently upon a recommendation from a friend and were so happy and satisfied with our meal we've dined here 3 times in the last 2 weeks! Amazing food and great service. A real gem in Carnegie.
It's always good to try something new, but we won't be coming back to Mrs Kim's. While the broth in my soup admittedly was tasty, the noodles on the other hand were a gluggy mess. My wife and daughter barely touched their chicken laksa's, whereas next door at Papparich they love their Laksa's.
On a hot 32 degree night, we had to repeatedly ask for our water to be refilled even though we were the only ones in the restaurant; so the waitress hardly was over-worked. Definitely suggest you go next door to Papparich instead for a superior experience.
Four of us came to Mrs Kim's Grill on a Monday night. We ordered the set menu to share between all of us. I love the Korean BBQ style of cooking our own food, which means that we can cook it as much or as little as we like. Thank you to Mrs Kim's Grill!
Use to be a great place. Not anymore. Been there twice in the past 12 months (before and after Covid) and it has been a huge disappointment.
1. Service was full of mistakes and very random
2. Food didn't come out despite several orders put thru
3. Food was average at best. It was bland and ordinary.
I have been a fan in the past, but this will be my last time at Mrs Kims
Feel disappointed with the girl (maybe owner or manager) attitude. They kept watching left over and did not delivery foods. When we check the bill the girl immediately go back to check left over (bc we sit on the back yard) which they dont do with other Aussie people table. Its bad attitude and racism. Asian should be careful to come!
Our first Korean BBQ experience and we enjoyed it! The food was great! Only took off a star because of the robotic service. If there’s one thing they could improve it’s to engage with customers instead of just seating us and walking away. As Korean BBQ beginners we had to ask for help on what to order and they seemed a bit disorganised at opening time. But we will be back for the food food.
