Fast and friendly service. Great quality ramen. Liked that half an egg was included in the serving. Good atmosphere. Felt like I was getting lunch in Tokyo and not Melbourne.

My fave ramen in all of Melbourne! I just came back from Japan and this place seems to be the closest to compare so far! The place is tiny, like that of the small ramen bars in Tokyo, so if you're not too claustrophobic this place hits the spot.

This was literally the best ramen I have ever had! The broth was so full of flavour and the noodles were perfectly made, a MUST try!

Tried their Charsu Ramen and is absolutely delicious. They provide garlic add-ons to the broth to maximise the flavours. A must try for Ramen lovers. And free add-on noodles too. The Gyoza was amazing as well. Will definitely return.

Quite busy when we went, had to wait in quite a long queue but if you don't mind 10min wait then it's not too bad. I ordered the beef ramen with spicy tonkotsu broth, and it was really nice, the service was really fast even though it was busy. Very cosy and warm, good place for a casual dinner catch up.

WHAT A TREAT.
Mr Ramen took me back to a tiny lil ramen house in japan in a matter of minutes, and then the food arrived and blew my expectations out of the water.
That broth had so much depth and that subtle linging joy of dashi was exquisite. Thank you so much

The ramen was delicious, I don’t quite often finish the soup but it was really nice and surprisingly I finished it all! The atmosphere was great and the staff did a great job!

A little ramen store inside a building, don’t let the surroundings fool you! Food comes incredibly quickly and if there is a queue, it moves fast.

It’s not that spacious so large groups might have limited tables but lots of seating for couples and a bar area for solo diners.

Staff are very friendly and won’t rush you.

Best spicy miso ramen in Melbourne, plus beer on tap and a good list of sake and umeshu, which you can also try as a tasting paddle. The staff are friendly, service is quick and it is quieter than the Russell St options.

Best ramen in the city! Been coming here since 2015 when one of my friend recommended to me. Love their noodles, fresh and different from other ramen restaurants. Staffs are very kind and friendly. They have really good and flavorful gyoza too!

We tried Garlic Tonkontsu Chashu and the Tonkontsu ones. The garlic one tastes a bit too burned while the Tonkontsu one tastes very rich and nice.

What makes this ramen shop different from others is its noodle - very tender.

We also tried the assorted Japanese mushroom, very sweet. Might goes well with beer.

Anyways, its a must try Japanese ramen shop in Melbourne.

One of the best Tonkotsu ramen I've ever had in Australia.

The soup was very tasty and full of flavour! Not a very heavy and thick Tonkotsu but somehow the flavour balance was perfect and had a nice complexity to it. Noodles were thin and firm.

We tried the spicy tonkotsu as well and it had a good kick to it and added more flavour than just being spicy.

They have a very comprehensive variety of condiments on the side including chilli powder, chilli oil, sesame and even minced garlic! And that's on every table, you don't have to ask for it.

Bonus: you can even order extra noodles so make sure you save some soup for that.

Gyoza was great too. Very flavourful and the skin is so very thin and light.

Felt like we were back in Japan. Would love to come back again!

Hands down the best ramen in the CBD! I have been coming here for a few years now and am never disappointed with my experience. When you walk in all the staff greet you and show you to a table. Due to COVID, the menus are now online but I think this makes the ordering process easier as you get to see photos of what you're ordering before you receive it. The food comes really fast and is always delicious, and they have a wide range of options, including vegan options! Prices are also very reasonable and you can get free extra noodles if you are super hungry. Pictured is the vegan tofu ramen and the tonkatsu pork ramen.

Easily best ramen in the city. Amazing little restaurant with top quality ramen and Japanese beers on tap.

It’s one of those places that you will be saying wow and raving over no matter how many times you come. Fantastic love it all!

Service exactly like japan.
The whole resteraunt just reminded me of a small ramen store in japan, really amazing.

The ramen is really authentic and they even provide all the side condiments including garlic paste. This is pretty rare so a big thumbs up.

Additionally, they offer unlimited extra noodles ensuring you dont leave hungry ever.

The drinks are all really well priced and the beef and miso was delicious.

The soup was well bodied and had enough collagen you could feel it on your lips, but not too much where its overly sticky.

The black tonkastu soup base was well balanced and salted less to accomodate for all palletes (i added some soysauce to mine).

The noodles were of my preferred texture of slightly hard, but bouncy.

The serving time is really fast, exactly what a ramen store is like.

Finally, i will come back again to try a different soup base and the gyoza.

Thank you for the enjoyable experience that reminded me of the fantastic times in japan.

One of our favourite places to go for ramen in the city. Great flavour, great broth. Can get a bit crowded during the lunch rush - go a bit earlier if you can!

Not bad overall but the quality of the broth changes every time, sometimes good, sometimes way under seasoned.

I was quite excited to try Mr Ramen San based on the incredible reviews. Although I must say I read plenty of them before coming and there was one review that particularly caught my interest. This person said he was drawn into this place because of the good reviews and it did not live up to the expectations. They also mentioned having experience in trying ramen in Japan. I must say I agree with this particular person since I also thought the ramen was good, but not outstanding, and definitely not the best I've tried in Melbourne.

Funnily enough, I have also tried several ramen places in Japan (since I love ramen), and since my last time in Japan I have been looking for a good place in Melbourne that reminds me of a good Japanese ramen.

Mr Ramen San was good overall, but for instance, the Tonkotsu broth lacked a bit of flavour and kick, which shouldn't happen in a tonkotsu broth. I endend up adding some drops of soy sauce and chilli oil to make it really tasty. The noodles were also quite thin for my liking, but this is entirely personal preference since in Japan every ramen shop make their own noodles, some of them thin, some of them a bit more thick which is what I personally like. The Chashu was quite thin as well, but really tasty.

The ambience and staff are amazing though, great experience in that regard. Also, the ramen was served basically instantly after we ordered it.

Overall, not the best ramen in Melbourne, but definitely a top 5 in my list.

A popular, cozy, casual restaurant, tucked away in an arcade, that specialized in Ramen. I think Melbourne is quite blessed with many great Ramen places, this is undoubtedly one of them.

The broth is full of flavor, but not as thick and gelatinous as some other Ramen places in Melbourne. Noodles are firm and "slurpable". Friendly staff with prompt service.
