MoVida reviews
71Great service. No reservations for main dining area, so snagged a res at the bar, and it was terrific. Service was impeccable. Food was not typical tapas selections, so we had to venture outside our comfort zone. That said, there were several specials, and every dish looked good, and tasted even better. Side note, their bread is A-mazing - so don't skip it, i.e. Totally worth the calories.
Staff were rude when I arrived, then inattentive so I just stayed for a drink k and left. Wine was good, food probably would have been too. I went somewhere with a friendlier atmosphere.
Great tapas, love every single one. Main dishes need more consistency cause some are delicious and some are not that good.
Food was good but the bar staff don't know the measures for an aperol spritz (it's written on the bottle). No big deal but then they charged $20 for a spritz! Come on, just don't serve it. It's $12 anywhere else and it wasn't even made right. Also ran out of tortilla.
Excellent food but pricy for the portion. I would classify this place as a $$$.
Knocking off a point because our server Emma was very stern and serious. - didn't exude a warning and inviting atmosphere/impression.
Dishes were on the small side for $24 to 35 AUS each. Tapas range from $5 and up and are single serving only.
Fabulous MoVida: exceptional food and service. Consistently good and such a fun place to dine. Well done! Staff here are super welcoming and friendly. Love this place!
3.5* tasty Spanish tapas based menu a confusing plethora of choices, medium priced food, wines on the expensive side.
Busy but worth the wait, came with a family of 11 and the staff were very attentive. Plenty of things to choose from on the menu and weren't rushed out towards the end of our booking. Will come again!
A Spanish Tapas Restaurant with a modern day twist to some of the classic Tapas dishes. A must try is the Air-dried Wagyu with Poached Organic egg & truffle foam. The table fell silent as everyone took in the moment as the wagyu dissolved on our tongues. Do remember to make a reservation as it was crowded on a Thursday night.
Wow. This is a must place to visit when you’re in Melbourne but make sure you book ahead because it gets very busy. The menu is not expensive and it features tapas and mains. But the ambience and experience is absolutely amazing.
Not very happy with the matradee as she wasn' nice.
More than half of the restaurant was empty and she wasn't acclimating! We wanted a quick in and out dinner.
Best tapas we’ve had, and we’ve just come back from 5 weeks in Spain. Specials recommended by waiter were all awesome, wine selections and speed of service excellent. What is not to love? !
Food was great. However be mindful of the bill. There was a small but nonetheless a mistake where a dish was charged more than on the menu. It has been rectified after we had asked about it
A bit expensive but the quality and the innovation of the food are totally worth to pop by. A Spanish restaurant with the classic hipster touch of Melbourne.
Don't worry about the cost, your meal is definitely worth it! Great atmosphere in the evening. The ingredients run and swirl together, amplifying each other's flavor. Prices are decent compared to other locations and portions are filling. Spent the evening here and would probably come back.
Disappointing end to a very, very good night.
To start the service was excellent and the food was outstanding. However the night quickly turned bad when our last dish, the Swordfish, came out. Filled with jambon (cured ham) that wasn’t mentioned on the menu at all. An honest mistake but a very costly one when served to 2 pescetarians, one of which being a Jewish person. The response from the manager: “oh we don’t list all of our ingredients” didn’t really feel good enough in this situation when any meat is a pretty damn big ingredient, let alone pork.
Hasn't been the same since they got rid of the quince pas. Oh god this steak tartare is amazing. Anyway, the quince paste ci. Oh wow and this smoked mackerel, delicious. What was I saying? That's right, downhill since the cigars are. Wait, are those churros? Aw yissss
Wonderful tapas and share plates! Definitely will come again if I have chance to visit Melbourne again!
Everyone said that this was a place to visit when in Melbourne. It was worth a visit once but I'm not sure if I'd necessarily make the trek again. The food was ok but nothing that stayed in my memory to crave again. Hosier Lane just outside the restaurant was memorable though with its beautiful collage of street art.
Now one of the more familiar parts of Melbourne's high end food scene, Camorra's outstanding ode to all things Spanish with a twist or two never ceases to delight. And I hope the Anchoa never ever comes off the menu. This morsel is MoVida in a single bite. Enormous, in-your-face flavour, surprising twists, and yet still balanced. And the restaurant is too casual to be pretentious or stuffy. T-shirts and jeans are more at home that jackets and dresses, so a casual vibe exudes, making it all the more accessible.
