Food is beautiful but I liked the old venue more as it was warmer and coffee/desserts were included in the price. But I will still support this place as the owner of the restaurant employs refugees and is an activist which I admire.

Ah what a shame these guys moved premises. Went to dine here at the previous address down the road pre Covid. It was exceptional. We aren't vegetarians but thoroughly enjoyed the experience at this restaurant. It was actually good to dine minus the alcohol. This new venue was disappointing on a number of levels. We booked as a group of 10. The other 8 had never been here before. Unfortunately as a larger group it just wasn't the same. The food that came out was mainly dips and nothing really to compliment it.like a flat bread for instance. There was a little eggplant and felt more solid vegetable based dishes would've been nice. The toilets are located around the back of the building. You need to exit the front doing area and walk around the rear and through another part of the restaurant set up for smaller group bookings. Very inconvenient. Funny as well.as I walked to go to the toilet I did notice tables that had a pita type flat bread.also interesting as well because all the food was eaten. From our previous experience there was so much food you simply couldn't eat it all. They actually provide take away containers (at a small cost) so you can take home what you don't eat. The majority of diners took take away containers. Anyway, if you're going to try this place, maybe let it be just a small group. I'm certain the other 8 friends we went with won't be going back but we may give it another go to the restaurant a chance to redeem themselves.

Visited on 22.11.20. Was our second time there, the first time being one of the best value restaurants in Melbourne. Not impressed at all the second time unfortunately, 35$ per head for something that cost them 5$ per head to make. The banquet was no longer a banquet - it was a couple of skimpy dishes and although that delicious chickpea dish was still there, it was probably the only dish that was nice. I hope it's just a post-COVID wobbler as seriously disappointed in the place.

Every dish included with the fixed menu banquet was utterly delicious. Staff are lovely, and new spaces are interesting and welcoming. Far too much food for us to finish in one sitting, so don't be surprised if you have to take some home.

After hearing about this place for months from a friend, finally had the opportunity to try it myself. I was initially doubtful of a vegetarian restaurant, but as the first set of food came out, right through to the end, it was all delicious. While I am not used to hearing social justice commentary during a meal, the passion from the owner, Hannah (forgive me if I got the name wrong), came out not only in the message, but in the food. Staff were all friendly and catered to individual needs due to allergies, and atmosphere was great. Strongly recommend for anyone that wants to try something different. Cant recall what the dish was called, but there is a chickpea bake of sorts to absolutely die for. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

Luckily, one of us arrived early, so we could make a booking and ended up having a table 1 hour later. This place is packed! Why? The answer is easy: Great vegetarian food for a great price. Although it was very busy, we were served quickly. Have a look at the photos to get an Impression. Well, and appetit! We can definitely recommend the Moroccan Soup Bar. We paid $130 for 4 people. This is cheap. And it was plenty of food.

It's was ok just so so. Would it kill them to put out some Turkish coffee with the sweets? So scummy with the mint tea.

Beautiful vegetarian food. This is the cuisine you might not have tried yet. Best service best quantity that you might wanna take home (do carry containers of your own). All the items from there fixed menu is amazing. Must try. Always busy.

Service a bit slow. The night we got there (at opening hour) as they don't take bookings for couples, we had to wait over an hour. Fortunately there is a wine bar next door. Sat down and eventually got a verbal menu. It was only one of two options from one of the feasting menus. Water dropped onto the table well after our entrees arrived. Speaking of which there is too much lemon juice used. Did not know there was a mains after and had filled up on entree. Doh! Altogether pretty tasty except for the potato and carrot dish that my partner and I left. We had to ask twice for a $2 dollar takeaway container for the left overs and spent 10 or 15 minutes longer than necessary. The tiny glass of mint tea was exceptional. Being Fitzroy, expect to see a couple of political statements.

Great place for vegetarians to have some authentic Moroccan dishes (p.s. Only set menu is serving here.)

Generous and considerate owner. Great service with talented waitresses. The vibe is congested and buzzing, as intended. Banquet was more than enough for a friend and I and a child, the waitress encouraged sharing to avoid food wastage given our appetites and wasn’t concerned with selling us additional items.

The entire concept of this place it makes it unique! Delightful food, cosy and beautifully presented dining area. Every time that I go with my partner it is a whole experience, is not just about food! You don’t even need to grab a menu, just wait for the food to be arrived and just enjoy every minute that you spend on it! That’s my advice! I still don’t understand why has 4.8 score! Should be 5 for sure!

Would have given 5 stars, even though it’s not really my thing. Food is amazing. The place is busy always. It’s louder than I prefer and the tables are squashed in. Very claustrophobic in there. But it’s because it’s so busy.

3 stars off for the ridiculous doggybag system. Can’t finish your meal. Want to take it home. Hope you remembered to bring a container. Because otherwise they’ll point you at the nearest supermarket 2 blocks away to get your own containers. Enjoy the trip.
