Montezuma's Mexican Restaurant & Bar - Parkdale, VIC

Slow, overcooked, bland Mexican themed food. This is a restaurant that has stayed in the 80's. The decor is the same and regrettably not in any way nostalgic. It's a family restaurant of the ilk and quality of a Sizzler.

My daughter and i have come to montezuma's ever since she was four and even before her my two older sons, it's an amazing atmosphere and the food never dissapoints.

Good service, food was ok/good nothing great. Small sizes and felt like money saving.
Would come again, but would try others first.

They turned down our booked table of 6 on arrival due to not providing medical details.

Medical apartheid is not ok,
Division For the sake of money.

Not knowing the law is no excuse.
Following orders without checking its law and ethical is no excuse.
Ethical behaviour and business is more important.
So dissapointed!

We went to Mexico city in Bentleigh instead where we could see thier smiling faces and eat thier gorgeous food!

Gross. Got takeaway, the chicken in the burrito had no seasoning, and I constantly found grizzle (how you find grizzle in chicken, I will never know). The rice was OK, but again, no flavour. The taquitos at $10 for 2 were a joke, tiny and come with very little cheese and lettuce.

I'd love to know how much other people had to drink to rate this place anything higher than 2 stars, its not authentic Mexican food in any way, and calling it quality food is an insult to literal beans in a can.

The food actually looked decent, and the portions were decent. Shame it was all devoid of flavour.

The takeaway food was reasonable and the portion sizes were good. A shared starter was actually enough, so we had leftovers. Staff were friendly on the phone when we ordered, and it was cheaper to order direct, rather than via Uber Eats (no pick-up available on Uber Eats at time of review).

Ideally located, with lots of parking and public transport at the doorstep, Montezuma offers a broad variety of delicious Mexican Food to eat in or take away.
The ambience setting is very vibrant, colourful and family friendly, with lots of Mexican rustic decor all around, which add to the experience.
The staff are very friendly and  welcoming, providing a fast service.
Definitely a must try experience for the Mexican food lovers.

Food and drinks delicious but service TOO slow. 20 mins to organise 4 drinks then 45 mins later for 4 meals when only allowed 90 mins meal time: (
The minute we finished main course the waitress asked if we wanted dessert!
No time for that so then we were told to go in 10 mins as the next sitting was starting.

Inconsistent. We have been there a couple times and some dishes are decent and then some dishes are a disappointment. This most recent visit it felt like everything had been microwaved and set under a heat lamp for an extended period of time. I had the chicken nachos, which alone a presented oddly, but every other bite of chicken was some sort of rubbery blob.

Dined here a few weeks ago for my bday. Great food, awesome ambience, friendly, warm service 100% would recommend to anyone who enjoys dining out

Utter garbage place an order wait an hour then phone me up to tell me you don't have a driver and then ask me to collect. Reason I asked for delivery is I don't have a car. Thanks no car and now no dinner.

Our first time here and loved our experience. The food was delicious and the cocktails were even better. Staff were super lovely and felt happy to support local. Will definitely be back

Amazing service and delicious food! My family and I have come in a few times now and it is always incredible. Kristy is such a lovely waitress, always very friendly and helpful. Thanks guys, we"ll be back soon!:)

Good margaritas (we tried a number of flavours & they're all very nice)
Friendly & helpful staff. The main issue was the restaurant was way understaffed. We waited a good 40 minutes before our orders were taken & another 30 minutes or so before the food was ready
Other than that the food was OK

Been driving past for decades and never got here as a kid myself so we took the family for a meal. Busy place, friendly but rushed service. Food ok, Sangria nice, some meat was too chewy. Wine selection lacking. Overall ok but now I have finally ticked the box will likely move on.

Had a wonderful evening here tonight. Staff were attentive and friendly, service was quick and food was delicious. I recommend this place to anyone looking for good Mexican food. Thanks for a great night!

Most revolting meal I have had in a very long time. The service was shocking and very unprofessional, waitress was unbelievably rude and the food was just gross. Refried beans were grey in colour, the salad was literally (still) frozen cauliflower and broccoli. The sangria was rank, no fruit, not even any ice lol. My partner and I vomited the whole walk home, no word of a lie, the health inspector would have a field day here. If i could give this 0 stars, I would. In hindsight, we should have asked for our money back because that was ridiculously bad. Never again.

Was there in November 2019. We had the Chef's Tasting Menu plus a couple of other dishes we wanted to try. Food-wise, it's good (of course).

Great foods and staff! The layout of the place is insane! And don't get me started on dem churros.
Great for families, vegans and vegetarians! Make sure you book!

Got a San Diego and a San Francisco take away, both were very delicious!
Good service and cooked at the time I asked them to so that it was nice and hot when I came to pick up.
