Montano's Patisserie Cafe

Signs were there as as walked in the door, staff more interested in having conversations with each other than greeting or serving us, had multiple staff stare us in the eye and then ignore us.

Sadly the food was not any better than the poor service. Zucchini fritters were horrible and among the worst we've tried in Melbourne.

Awesome place for lunch. Our waiter was so accommodating and found a great option for mum who has special dietary requirements.
The souva plate esoeciallywas a hit at our table. We will be back for sure.

Fantastic food, quick service. Had a Cypriot wrap was better than the souvalkis in Cyprus. Highly recommend. Will be a return customer for sure with family and friends.

Montana's has the best Canoli I've ever tasted. Pity I live on the other side of Melbourne. Id be going everyday otherwise.

My daughter organised a picnic box for 4 as a birthday surprise for me last week. It was fabulous. Great selection of food, everything was fresh and tasty. I was so impressed that I ordered a picnic box for my other daughter this week. Same quality food! The presentation in a single layer box made sharing in the park very easy. Montana's have clearly checked out the Covid rules and come up with an innovative way of working with them. Congratulations and thank you.

Ordered some lunch online due to the current conditions. Online process was easy and efficient no hassles there, got a txt to say extra 10 minutes required all good there too. I had a lamb souvlaki and chips. The souvlaki was ok but salty but pretty good. The chips were the biggest disappointment $9.90 and when I got back to the office no cheese no sauce and chips tasted like they had been sitting in the warmer for way too long. Would have been better to grab minimum chips from the fish and chips next door.

We 7 went there for dinner. Had pork belly. Beef cheek. Etc. All meals generous, and were very fresh. Good selection of wines. Limited beer selection, but ok. Very good waitress service. Not a huge place but has 2 x group tables in a semi separate alcove area. Great place for cosy dinners. Not very noisy. Very clean. Not the cheapest place but has xlnt quality. Local people run it. So give them a go.

Lovely selection of cakes and sweets. Decent coffee, and looks like a good selection for sir down easy. Haven't tried myself yet.

Montano's is by far the best Cafe, friendly staff members who we have got to know well. They make us the best hot coffee in the mornings. And super delicious breakfast. I will well and truly recommend.

Excellent cafe and bakery - hidden jewel.wonderful selection of snacks and the coffee is hot and tastes like coffee. We often pull in after a long ride into the Dandenongs.

I have popped in by accident, great news they have expanded. What traditionally had been a great cake shop in the Euro style is now a modern clean cafe.

They now sell a wide variety of beautiful cakes and coffee with a expanded menu of wraps, savoury's, smoothie and more substantial meals.

As they are now licensed I will come one night for meal and extend the review then. Though the menu looks promising with meat sampling boards and lemon calamari.

We really enjoyed their Italian custard donuts. The crisp pastry with fine sugar dusting filled with delicious custard was a real winner. We also tried their Vanilla slice which was quite acceptable, however I am not a fan of their baked Cherry cheesecake which we found to be very lightweight and not something we will be buying again.

First visit. Excellent service. Very well priced. Generous menu. Food quality great. Highly recommended

Makes a walk to Bayswater shops a total experience.

Great spot for lunch, big range from a simple toastie, to pastries, pies, wraps, foccacias and coffee. Give it a go

The balsamic mushrooms for breakfast is divine.
The desserts were a let down as the pastiry is lined with chocolate to avoid getting old and soggy.

Went back for the first time after the double lot renovation and I'm glad to report that Montano's has not lost any of it's charm. Love the new decor and additional seating. The revamped menu is very impressive, and customer service is top notch as ever. I tried the gorgonzola, fig and prosciutto arancini balls and it was delightful. I also loved the chickpea and cauliflower soup, which is saying much since I rarely order soups at restaurants! Highly recommended for small groups and families.

It does not get much better than this.
Oh, I forgot. Amazingly good value too
