Milanos Tavern / Brighton Beach Hotel reviews
78Seniors meal seemed a bit small on servings its more like a kids meal i left there still hungry in hindsight order a main meal at double the price.
Sunday lunch …. First visit to BBH in quite a few years and what a delightful change. The renovations are excellent and have opened up the whole area in arguably the best spot on Beach Rd,
Service was timely and very efficient. Meals were of a very high standard and well priced. Very impressed with the wine list, a lot of variation and some top labels. Again the prices are very acceptable. Good to note that the Seniors are looked after with a very generous menu.
Highly recommend BBH for a meal, or quite simply, stroll by and enjoy a drink and a snack.
Forgot our chips order, service was slow as, portions are not worth the price, food tasted good but I want my 3 hours of my life back
My daughter's party went fantastically well with the great cooperation of the staff of Brighton Beach Hotel, especially Flora who was very accommodating to all our requests, and we are very thankful for this. A wonderful evening all round.
Whenever we are visiting Melbourne, Brighton Beach Hotel is the place we go to for a good meal and drinks. The new renovations are fantastic and the views over looking the Ocean cannot be beaten. Thank you to the staff who are always efficient and curtious and make our time in Melbourne special.
Having a meal or drinks with friends and family.one of Melbournes hidden gems.
My family and I went here on Mother’s Day for the 3 course banquet and we had a few delays and mishaps with our orders. Karen came over to our table and was so lovely and apologetic for the delays. She brought us a free round of drinks. The meal finally arrived and we all loved it.
I've been to this hotel on a few occasions, however, the past two experiences I've had were particularly poor, and it's unfortunate that it stands out to me.
On Mothers Day this year, my family and I had waited a little over an hour for one of the meals. I wish that the meals had all come out at the one time, to avoid waiting times on the table to eat as one. Everyone had finished their meal except my sister, who was still waiting for her dish. The waitress the compensated by providing us with free dessert and drinks on the house. I also noticed that two tables had already complained about the extensive wait times on their orders. So, my family and I weren't the only ones left waiting.
Today, was particularly disappointing. I went for lunch with my parents, and walked into a bustling and frivolous environment. Lots of people, and good vibes for a restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. We had ordered our meals, and mine came our first, and I waited a little longer to see if my parents meals would come out in the next few moments. Turns out, they had to wait a little over an hour for their meals. My dishes that we had to wait on were quinoa salad and spaghetti bolognaise. Both of which were pretty average tasting, and not quite worth the wait.
The manager was kind enough to put the meals on the house and chucked in some free dessert and drinks too. I did once enjoy this place and would happily give them business, but two times in a row where I had to wait for meals for over an hour was just not acceptable.
I noted that three other tables had waited a similar amount of time, and had also gotten their meals for free. It was a little disappointing, because their food is quite good, I just wish their service matched.
We celebrated our son’s Baptism in the Bayview room at The Brighton Beach Hotel and it was absolutely beautiful. The staff were so lovely and the food was amazing. Everyone had a great time and loved it! Plus the views of the bay were stunning! Thank you so much for making our day so special!
The best waiter we have come across in years but unfortunately the worst Caesar salad. Such a letdown from the kitchen.
Food was very good and reasonably priced, but the service was definitely below expectation. We had great difficulty getting someone to come and take our order, then a couple of the orders were confused. They also forgot to bring our side dishes. Finally, when receiving the bill there were a couple of extra items that we hadn't ordered. Overall, a bit disappointing.
I have just had a fantastic seniors lunch! It was so delicious! And waitress Anna was so attentive & kind!
Anna made my booking when I phoned a few days ago.a booking for 2 by the window, the day after my birthday. All was perfect (except my friend had to cancel at the last minute), so I ate alone but not lonely.
Amazing food, special attention by Anna (who remembered making the booking even),
and beautiful sea views ensured a lovely birthday memory!
Had a great Birthday drinks and Canapes at this venue, food was fantastic as was service, thank you Lee for organising a memorable night. Highly recommended.
Schnitzel was ok but with limp salad. Steak was good but chef admitted he had stuffed up on the inedible baked potatoes. Offered menu for dessert but at 8.05pm was told kitchen was closed. Level of concern/care was non-existent in young staff.
Met with a few friends on a Saturday afternoon and sat outside. Our food was delivered at greatly different times meaning we did not eat together. Where are talking main meals being delivered over about 40 minutes! My steak was a bit overcooked but a reasonable size meal. Drinks reasonably priced.
Tiny portions and when a guest asked for veggies with her meal, she got salad. When we notified them of the mistake we were told it's $7 extra to substitute for veggies.
Drinks were forgotten (waited 25 min for 2 soft drinks and a glass of wine) and when one of the guests on the table was given a complimentary drink, it was the wrong one.
I understand that these things happen and staffing was an issue but communication is key! Pretty disappointing: (
For the first time ever i am writing to point out how disappointed in not being able to get a gluten free seniors fish meal. Only 2 weeks before i had it but was told today that new menu cant be changed.
I invited some friends along to join me as we all renembered how we used to come here in our teens
Dont understand why us gluten free people dont get much of a choice in menu
Cant see how hard it is to offer a plain grilled piece of fish to gluten free people
Hope you improve
Marlene
I had my son's 21st birthday here on the weekend in the beer garden, you know the wet and wild weekend. I was stressing about everyone getting wet and cold. Then along came the Knight in Shining armour, Lee, with his staff and rescued us. It was exactly like a fairy tale. Lee treated me like a Princess from the first phone call and eased my mind he patiently waited until we got organised enough to give final numbers and on the day, The food was amazing and plentiful. Catherine organised a corner of the bistro for us just in case the rain came. It was warm under the heaters, blankets if it got cold. We had the most amazing beautiful night. 80 people thoroughly enjoyed themselves. From the minute you walk in the staff happily greet you and nothing, absolutely nothing, was too hard for them to assist with. I honestly believe they genuinely cared that our celebration was a success and ensured that it was. If you are looking for a venue to hold any celebration, wedding, birthday, anything then Brighton Beach Hotel along with Lee and his beautiful staff is the place for you. Go check it out for youselves you will not be disappointed. THANKS A MILLION Jacquiie
Change of decor and menu since late 2019. Unable to sit at windows to see beach views. New chairs uncomfortable especially the arm rest. New menu disappointing. No pasta. On brightet note meals we did get were nice. Staff very friendly.
If you’re planning to have your wedding or any function here, don’t bother. There is a reason they’re cheap. I went to look at the venue, loved it, was shown where my ceremony was going to be, my reception. All seemed too perfect. Paid the deposit and that was that. I was told that I’d be contacted a few months out from my wedding to pick my menu items.
Many months later I emailed to confirm everything as we were now 12 months out. To cut a long story short I found out that my ceremony space was no longer available, it was currently getting turned into a sports bar. Lee basically told me bad luck because I booked 2 years in advance and things change and it’s not their problem. I asked when they were going to notify me that I couldn’t have my ceremony there anymore and they couldn’t tell me. Lee didn’t plan on telling me at all. No apology was given, just excuses. Worst customer service. Don’t waste your time. Find a different venue that won’t lie to get you to pay a deposit.
Came here few days go for a quick lunch. Great selections for the menu. We were not that hungry and decided to order the calamari and arancini. The service was pretty slow. Only one guy behind the bar who would look after the order from people who were sitting outside and inside. The food was ok. Beautiful view facing the beach. At least the food came pretty quick:)
