Milanos Tavern / Brighton Beach Hotel reviews
78 Passing by and just dropped in for lunch staff were wonderful and helpful.
Shall return with family
It's the little things. When you use barcodes table service - the food arrives to the right table in a timely manner. When you ask for plates for sharing - it gets sorted. Bar specials - staff should know prices.
Management need to empower the staff so they can roll with it!
It was very noisy there. Tables are sticky and their legs are uneven. More of an eatery experience. No tolilet paper in the loos. The only good thing is that the beach is nearby and you can go for a walk after dinner.
The Graziers pie was delicious the steak well cooked with prawns in garlic sauce the salmon also really good
Just had our wedding there. Food was perfect quality and quantity and Leanne the event manager is simply the best. I honestly can’t recommend her enough. We had nothing to worry about throughout the whole process.
Very bad experience.
The food was not up to scratch, even for basic pub food. The Caesar Salad had grit in the lettuce, the bacon was small, under cooked and insipid. The Calamari was under cooked and soggy, the Margherita Pizza (pictured) was was covered in so much cheese that the oil was floating on top and my daughter could not eat it.
On top of the bad food, three entrees that we wanted and all steaks were not available. Did I mention it’s a pub? Also chips could not be served, unless with a meal. Which was a shame, because it was one of the few things our Coeliac daughter could eat apart from the soggy calamari.
Give this place a miss, there are better pubs around.
Service was good. Attentive but not in your face. Ordering was quick and easy, but the waiters bringing out the food, do not know who ordered what, or when it was ordered, so when the food comes out, they would ask who ordered what. Not good when you ordered first and you are the last to get your order.
Ordered two eye fillets medium rare, both were closer to medium well. Potato cold, no cutlery available. Told the bartender, thought they were remaking a meal and 10 mins later she came out with a refund for one meal. Rudely was told they could cook one rare? It was barely pink in a small section. Ordered a Dijon and paid for it was brought hot English asked to switch it and was rudely told they don’t have it.
Christmas buffet lunch was a really lovely experience. Beautiful summer sea views and festive decor created the perfect ambience. There were so many choices of delicious food that everyone was surely catered for. A great selection and an abundance of food you could not possibly want for anything. Hats off to the terrific staff for helping make our Christmas 2022 lunch a perfect one.
Always a great experience dining at the Brighton Beach. Food is great, drinks and service spot on and what a view!
Struggled through boxing day lunch, waited over 90 and not all came at same time. Food was unfortunently bland especially the fish n chips.
Enjoyed Sunday lunch yesterday - 3 meals well presented as the waiter had described. On-phone ordering worked okay although not a good platform for vision impaired. They have definitely has improved the food quality having not been a a couple of years. Keep up the improvements and I am sure you will get many returned customers.
4/2/23 Returned for a lunch meal last Friday 30/12/22 in the bar area. Ordered a para and a calamari and had barely say back down and the meals came out from the kitchen. Parma overcooked - been left under hot lights for way too long - dry and chewy. Chips pale, luke warm and mushy. Calamari luke warm and same chips. Please cook the food fresh to order - I am happy to wait. Sandy Pub manages to get it right so it is possible
If this had a zero it would be 100 below.
What rubbish food! I'm seething, how can cook send out such rubbish! The only redeeming factor was the beach view.schnitzel was dry as the Sahara, stringy as all get out get a grip cook.
AVOID THIS PLACE WITH A TEN FOOT POLE.
We ordered Cappuccino and Hot Chocolate. They served us after an hour and was lukewarm. I think they must have prepared the coffee and forgot about it. So much for service. Thank goodness, they gave us another serving, just hot and nice to have.
Great pub food, great location but portion serves are very small, took my family there and had to feed them toasties when we got back home, snapper with roast potatoes had two tiny chip size potatoes and pie with mash had a desert spoon of mash pretty disappointing
After a 'dip' @ brighton beach, it was lovely to relax with a nice cold beer at this establishment. Great, friendly staff.
The Christmas lunch was the worst meal I have had. The scallop entree was like prizing glue from the shell with no taste. The soup my wife had was served cold. The main meal was a roast. Terrible fatty meal. The sliced meats were fatty. No peas the potatoes were over cooked and all were camouflaged with an over powering gravy. I gave up and left it on the table
Loved everything about this place, great views, meals and drinks.
We will definitely be back again.
P. S highly recommend ringing in advance for weekends and not online.
The Eggplant Parmigiana was to die for! It was a delightful surprise. I hope they make this a signature dish. Service was outstanding and friendly. Thanks Brighton Beach, I’ll be telling all my friends to come try it. Bravo!
