We recently hosted end of year Christmas party at Metropolis and the venue was beautiful!

The highlight of the venue the large balcony that overlooks the Yarra River and the Melbourne CBD skyline, the view was lovely on the sunny day that our event was on.

Thank you to Yvonne and Angela who made the event planning process seamless. Thanks also to the on the day event staff who were very attentive.

Good venue for events. Had our work Xmas event and the finger food provided tasted good and plenty of variety on offer. Also a bar inside so plenty of drinks to choose from.

To the amazing staff at Metropolis. Thank you for making my sisters wedding a dream come true. Everything was perfect. Amazing staff, food and incredible venue. Such a great night. Thank you so much!

Worst service ever, been a musician and I. Business for 20 years but a venue like this and service like this was horrifying. Waste of money it’s not even worth hiring it for free it damages everything. Horrible staff

UPDATE TO RESPONSE!
Phillip, you gave me one option and one option only, that was to forfeit half my deposit and use the other half to reschedule at a later date. Such an offer feels like a slap in the face and as if I’ve made a mockery of, because a business you know full well no one is going to take up such an offer…
Please don’t make it like you made so many generous offers to help come to some sort of agreement when in reality you gave me an ultimatum - one offer only and that is pretty much lose the whole deposit. I really hope you are not in the same position one day where you are out of pocket tens of thousands of dollars and having to deal with the death of a loved one at the same time and someone that is in a position to help offers absolutely 0 just to line their pockets with cash.

Amazing venue, view, location and so on. But poor management and staff that have absolutely no compassion or consideration for peoples personal circumstances.

We had our wedding booked at Metropolis for the first week of May, however due to the passing of my grandfather in March we were left with no choice but to cancel the wedding, at this stage we had paid $16,315 for deposit to secure the venue for our date, as per the contract terms which is non refundable.

I then contacted the sales manager at the time, Kirstin Butterworth and advised her of the death in the family, that we would unfortunately need to cancel due to our personal circumstances and discussed with her the potential possibility of a refund or partial refund, she advised that any sort of monetary/ cash refund was completely out of the picture and the best she could offer was a credit to postpone our wedding to our later date (up to 1 year). I lost hope and stopped contacting Metropolis as we had more serious and personal circumstances to deal with.

Earlier this week I contacted the General Manager - Phillip Williams seeking a resolution and possible assistance, as his position within the organisation is somewhat higher up on the hierarchy. The only thing he said he could offer was a 50% credit amounting to $8,157.50 to rebook at a later date and forfeiting the balance of $8,157.50 - an offer less generous and considerate than their original offer.

Whilst I understand Metropolis is a business and too have expenses, they have shown no compassion or consideration for our personal circumstances with the loss of my grandfather as well as losing close to $40,000 as a result of the wedding cancellation.

I reiterated to Phillip our circumstances and asked that he reconsider and speak to his superiors, to help relieve my financial loss and burden by refunding 50% of my deposit whilst retaining the balance 50% to for any business expenses/ losses Metropolis may have incurred but I was left with nothing.

Unfortunately, we would have loved to have our wedding at Metropolis, but due to our misfortune and unforeseen circumstances it had to be cancelled and the awful dealings with Metropolis has definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth, also feeling hopeless and have lost faith in humanity.

Do better Metropolis.

We worked at this amazing venue recently and can not speak highly enough about the staff, service, food and place itself! Being a supplier for the night, they welcomed us so warmly and ensured we had everything we needed to get our job done. If you are searching for an awesome venue to hold your next function/wedding.look no further!

Thanks so much to the whole Metropolis Events team for hosting out Easy Weddings Evolve '23 wedding industry conference. The venue was absolutely stunning, with incredible views from Southbank, and the event went off without a hitch.

We had our wedding at metropolis and it was amazing, from dealing with Natasha who was fantastic from start to finish to dealing with all the suppliers they had recommended.they also were even better than we had expected on the day, the guests were raving on about the staff and how attentive they were. I would highly recommend getting married here or even having a corporate function as the venue is stunning.the food is amazingly delicious and they basically arranged everything for us, we didnt even need a wedding planner as Natasha did all that for us by contacting the suppliers to giving us all the information we needed to arrange what ended up being a very successful and stunning wedding!

From the beginning, Georgia was so incredibly kind, thoughtful and attentive. She was beyond helpful throughout the entire planning process, taking all my little ideas and concerns without any hesitation. Words can't express our gratitude, not only to Georgia but to the entire staff.

Being based on the Sunshine Coast we found that distance was no barrier in ensuring the lead up to our event and the day itself ran very smoothly. All communications were clear, prompt and helpful. The Panorama Room is simply stunning and wouldn't hesitate in holding another event there.

What more to say other than you are dealing with absolute professionals with high attention to detail. My husband and I had the most amazing experience with Metropolis. The whole process was seamless and enjoyable.
Karinda in sales made the negotiating process fun and light before passing us on to Alanna, our outstanding event planner. Alanna was so receptive to our ideas and what we wanted to execute on our wedding night. She contacted all of the suppliers and coordinated them on the day which took an immense amount of stress off me, I cannot thank her enough.
The wedding night was just. WOW. The staff, the food, the service the view 10/10. Lyne, our coordinator of the night was incredible. She was always there making sure the bridal party was well fed and never thirsty. Everybody loved her. Nothing was a stress.

Metropolis Events is a truly stunning venue that epitomizes Melbourne in its style and breathtaking views. We booked the venue for our wedding reception and our guests could not stop telling us how beautiful it was afterwards!
Our coordinator Kirstin was very accommodating and responsive throughout the wedding planning process, which we truly appreciated due to the many changes we needed to make due to COVID.

Metropolis is such a stunning venue to photograph weddings! We have photographed many weddings at Metropolis and absolutely love the venue! The large windows allow lots of natural light through during the day and the gorgeous city skyline views from the balcony in the evening creates the perfect setting for capturing photos of our couples!

We hosted a private corporate cocktail party at Metropolis in August, and it was absolutely brilliant! Such a beautiful venue to host a party with the stunning view of the city. Food, drink, service all 10/10 - nothing was too difficult for the team on the day. Georgia was a dream to work with helping to organise all logistics in the lead up to the event. I would not hesitate to book another event with the Metropolis team. Thank you!
