Where do I start? Made me lose my baby from not monitoring me regularly or correctly. Left placenta in me not once but TWICE even after doing a D&C. If there was an option here for no stars I'd pick that. Not even worth the one star review!

I gave birth on the 16 May 2022 and was moved to the postnatal ward, my night midwife that was on duty at the Mercy in Heildberg was Maddie/Mady I don't know how she spelt her name. She was horrific I still have PTSD 2 months after giving birth, she was horrible. I was swollen and had 2nd degree stitches with a catheter in and wasn't able to sit up this made it really hard for me to attend to my newborn, before Maddie's shift all the other midwives were they amazing they helped me sit up they passed my newborn to me and helped me feed her/change her etc. When I pressed the button for help Maddie told me she wasn't going to give me my newborn that I should get up and do it myself, I said I'm in so much pain I literally gave birth just a few short hours earlier. She refused and just stood there watching me struggle and whelp in pain. Then another time I called Maddie because there was blood all over my bedsheets and on me (I've had the other midwife help me change my underwear and clean me but when I asked Maddie she very harshly pulled my underwear off me threw it on the floor and didn't even help me get my new pair out in my suitcase or help me put it on. She felt annoyed that I was asking her for help. This is my second baby at the mercy, all the other midwives were great but I still struggle at time feeling so helpess and anxious when I think about my experience postpartum.

This review is just regarding the emergency department:

The experience has been awful, I am currently at the emergency waiting from about 2.5 hours. The only statement they gives is whats your waiting no, there is no estimated time how long its gonna take, nobody answers that here. I don’t know what an emergency means to most of the hospital in Melbourne. If a patient runs out to you midnight for an emergency you keep them waiting for hours.

There were 2 patients who have left scolding. I don’t know if others have faced a better experience or same please comment to make it a better review for others.

However, gynaecologist department has been excellent on usual appointments. Just emergency department which sucks

I couldn’t praise this hospital high enough. We have had our two children in this hospital. They level of care, compassion and respect from their staff all the way from the initial visits to the big day is world class.
Being very new to Australia and having our first child away from family and away from home, was supposed to be a very stressful and Traumatic experience. Turned out to be the exact opposite with this great staff and management.
The support given after birth to home visit and follow up is really great. With no exaggeration this was a turning point experience for how we feel about Australia and how good this place is.
Well done Team Mercy hospital.

The best care team for pregnancies. I had my baby boy in February and all I can say is that the nurses and doctors here are all lovely. I wish there was something I could do for them. Thank you so much

I went in with endometriosis screaming, the nurses were worried at first, i was screaming when my partner wheeled me in, while my partner was there they were in the room more often, came in when i rung the bell ect they were very helpful at the start.the head nurse coordinator actually came to the room to tell me to get up and leave.because they obviously weren’t going to give me ANY pain meds i asked one of the nicest nurses who was very helpful if she could wheel me to the hospital on the other side, she was happy to and went to tell the coordinator i was leaving because she asked me to (even though i was still in a mass amount of pain, was vomiting and cant walk) this nurse coordinator said “nup im taking her” and she told the front desk a bunch of lies (waiting room was empty and very quiet) she also bought 2 security guards with her? What was i going to do? I took the brakes off (because SHE PUT THEM ON?) wheeled over and asked if it was going to be a wait and the triage was so rude.i didn’t do anything.i had no other option but to go home, i wasted my money travelling to the hospital and they didn’t help.i called for the rude nurse to give me a taxi voucher (it was 3-4 am) and i really had to convince her.she called the taxi and told the taxi “she will be screaming but whatever you do do not take her to another hospital, take her home” i was so shocked.i really believed because endo is a women’s issue they would admit me for a few days at least until i can walk, stop vomiting and aren’t in my excruciating pain, but i guess this is another hospital that can be crossed off of hospitals i will never be going to again, nor letting anyone i know go there.even tried to make a complaint to them directly and we’ve heard nothing for months

Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg is outstanding in their care for their patients. Amazing oncology department and doctors. And the nurses are caring, careful and has empathy. I had a clean room to recover with inspiring views of the Dandenongs. I was there for 5 days and I truly appreciate the nurses care. Everyone of them were amazing ladies. Special thanks to Nerida, Joyce, Candice, Michelle, ash, Bella and Caroline. I am truly grateful to our top notch health system and doctors for discovering my cancer early and removing it quickly. Thank you Dr Pendlebury.

I had an amazing experience as a first time mother with the Mercy staff. Every single doctor, midwife and carer were caring, knowledgeable and attentive. I learnt so much! I came into hospital with some information from baby books, but left with so much more.

I just want to thank the midwives, the nurses and doctors and everyone working in this department. Not only did you make my experience calm, when I, myself was very stressed, it’s very obvious that you really do care for your patients. Your kindness is so very appreciated, thank you.

My experience here was very traumatic
I was induced and had to give birth via emergency c section. As it was a traumatic as it is, some of midwives and doctors made it even worse and some of them helped me to recover easier.

Courtney, Von, Marcus were the best midwives/doctors.she helped me so much. Thank you sooo much.

Melody, April and Melody were extremely rude and my son is 6 months and still cant get over the comments they have made about my breastfeeding to a first time mum. I wish I had to courage and confidence to treat them the way they have treated me and my newborn.

Worst waiting times! 6 hours+ for waiting time. 3+ hours to get blood test results. Seriously we are important as well especially if we come in to emergency department, our situation is not less than someone else's. Sitting here & waiting makes me feel like my situation is not important. Really sucks. Would never ever come here again.

Wonderful staff! Every single staff member made me feel so reassured and comfortable during a pretty scary surgery. I knew I was in safe hands, and I couldn't recommend the Mercy more highly. Thank you so much!

The staff here are many and varied from the administrators to the medical staff. We interacted with a mixture of 6-7 nurses and doctors in total. The people working here are genuine, professional and kind.

Such a pathetic service. 90% people dont know what they are doing their.everyone just waiting for instructions from the incharge.when asked something. "Oh sorry, let me ask the incharge". It should be Mercy Clinic flf women.its not a hospital. ED just has 2-3 Drs at a time.and you have to wait for minimum 6 hrs (past 3 visit experiences). Pathetic staff.rude.know nothing.
