Direct from the USA for the first time in Australia the Curiosities and Oddities fair. Had a good stroll through and brought some items. Loved it and hopefully they come back next year

I used to come here as a child for the Royal Melbourne Show in September- until entry costs ($40) and cost of showbags, rides and attractions got too high. Showgrounds is made up of many, different sized buildings and an arena and stage area built up haphazardly amongst large paved and grassed areas.

I have been to the showgrounds for other conventions, but yesterday I was there for the Curiosities and Oddities Expo. Great concept, some fun products- needed more stalls and variety of exhibitors. Lots of parking availability for $20 onsite. Tickets needed to be pre purchased, no cash or card sales at door only bar code.

4wd show was great. 1hr wait to get parking then to be told we are full and to go elsewhere.no communication with abundance of parking attendants. 2hrs to finally get in to show. Never again.

The animals were amazing and so friendly! Would recommend, they also have an impressive dinosaur collection:) Be careful the food, drinks and rides are overpriced

Large showgrounds that hosts many different festivals over the years. Many enclosed pavilions and outdoor exhibition areas. Easy to get to by public transport and with onsite car parking plus many different enterance/exits to the showgrounds make it a breeze to access.

Always fun, lots of clean toilets, well mapped out, rides were great, the animals so cute.

Just a pity the food was more than expensive it was exorbitant and stale (from more than two retailers!)

Lousy payment system. Sent to multiple different sites to try and arrange a refund when I wasn't permitted to use their rides. Every one of them sending me somewhere else. Ripoff and a complete waste of time. Will avoid like the plague in future.

Kids had a great time, just costs an arm and a leg to do anything. Anything free was few and far between. Entry fees, $15pp for a 40 second roller coaster ride. $15 for a small slushy. $50 for a hair braid. Then all the other little things in between. The show bags at the end. It all ads up. But the kids enjoyed it, and that's why we do it.

Attended the 4x4 show. Huge set up. So much to see. Very well organised. Perhaps more seating for easy legs and to eat at some of the food vans

I went for covid testing at Melbourne showground. It's a drive thru test and the waiting period is far too less than other places.

Marpreet (Indian) from cubicle 22 was horrible. If you get her to vaccinate, request to change nurse. She was not confident of what to do and was impatient when I asked her questions.

Didn’t have to wait long for covid injection. I was in the line at another hub for hours but here was way shorter

COVID testing well run with decent number of personnel assisting. Large numbers of cars but got through in 30 to 45 minutes. Good option for a test

Venue is a large COVID-19 vaccination centre in 2021. COVID-19 testing is elsewhere on the showgrounds.
Excellent traffic and pedestrian control but could use more prominent signage, pleasant security.
Public toilet available.

Pre-booked 2nd vaccination went pretty smoothly here. It was bucketing down but lots of staff standing out in the rain directing traffic in the car park. Zero waiting in line (but I think we got lucky with rain and timing as there as small line as we were leaving)

Got my testing done here and the process was smooth and easy. Really appreciative towards the staffs, from directing traffic to getting swabs done. They have sacrificed their own safety during this uncertain times to enable others' safety and well-being. Kudos and thank you

I work in a lab handling with infectious viruses which are made into vaccines. Recently I became aware that my category is counted as front line health care workers based on vaccine eligibility check. I booked in an covid vaccine appointment with Melbourne Showgrounds and I asked for leave from work for the appointment.

When I was checking in, the staff checked my age and asked me what I do. I explained what I do and showed my company badge. He started to look at their guideline brochure and was not sure if I was qualified so he asked another senior staff. I explained to her again what I do and why I booked in, she said if I'm not working in a hospital then I'm not a front line worker. I showed her the government guideline, she insisted I don't work for hospital so don't count. I went through the eligibility check using my phone step by step, she finally agreed to talk to someone else and confirm. I waited a while, she came back saying the doctor said my work related material is no longer infectious by that stage anymore.

I was really disappointed but thought that covid vaccine is in short supply so it's OK if I don't get it now. However, when I talked to other colleagues, they got it without any problem.

I called covid vaccine hotline later, and told them what I said at Showgrounds, and they told me I'm totally qualified for the vaccine.

I feel I was mistreated and discriminated against and I was really disappointed. While I appreciate staff working hard to get ppl vaccinated, SHAME on the staff who treat ppl based on their own liking.

Lots of car park spaces and trams stop right by. Everything was so handy the day I visited. I had an appointment at the medical centre and the chemist was right next door. Had to go to Coles for my weekly shopping and found the Reject Shop had opened there, so went in to search for bargains. To cap off my day, I went to have my COVID-19 vaccination at the hub.
