Melbourne Metropole Central reviews
72Loved the area, the room was great, disappointing about the dining facility, I understand COVID has stuffed up a lot but may need to note this on your page that not open
Staff are excellent, very helpful and obliging. Great position, very central. Room very comfortable. Will definitely stay again.
Excellent location. Rooms were spacious and well equipped with all that you need. State of the rooms are appalling. Curtains were covered in thick mould, fan in the bathroom out of action, food wrappers left on the floors. It’s a shame the rooms aren’t given the attention it needs, would have been a great place to stay otherwise. Unless staff start taking their reviews seriously and make some changes, I wouldn’t recommend. Not the mention being moved to another room after already unpacking our belongings, only to be moved to another room that was more unsuitable then the first.
A home away from home when visiting St Vincent's hospital from the country. Great location, friendly and accommodating staff and good car parking is a bonus.
Had to wait for the room upon arrival due to staff shortages but got a free can of soft drink each while we waited. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful
Family friendly accommodation in a great location. Friendly staff, one of whom saved the day when a button fell off my dress 10 minutes before leaving for a wedding! Thanks again.
Whilst the hotel is conveniently located the room and building are run down and in poor condition. Broken curtain rails, stained carpets, poor water pressure in shower, not even any milk or water in the fridge, missing crockery. The building clearly needs serious refurbishment, no security lights outside the lift in the basement carpark is a serious trip hazard, missing and damaged security lights outside the rooms, dangerous broken and cracked balcony tiles and the lift interior is disgusting. Overall average value for money
Rooms were a good price, BUT they failed to inform us that the upstairs AC was out of action, not good for a warm weekend and supplied fans just didn't cut it. Also mould in the bathroom was off-putting. Overall happy but when paying for an apartment we expect to be able to use the whole in comfort. Location is lacking for eating out etc.
We have stayed at the Metropol several times and found it to be a great location with excellent service. On this occasion we were upgraded to a much larger 2 storey room which was good. The room needs a little love, and is getting a bit worn. Shower could do with a good clean, but apart from that, all good. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open which is a shame, as the food there was always good. Lack of staff being the reason.
We would stay there again.
Have already discussed with reception the items needing attention, and was told they would be seen to.
Front desk guy on Saturday was amazing and very helpful. Had great advice and suggestions on the area.
Would stay again for sure
We had a great stay here. It was a great location, very close to tram stops. The free parking was an absolute bonus and was underground and secure which I loved! The room was a great size including a nice bathroom and kitchen and dining facilities.
Fantastic service and friendly reception. Pool in the courtyard was amazing to use, and the room itself was spacious, well lit, & the bed comfortable.
Great location, comfy beds. Decor a little tired and a few fittings broken in the bathroom. We would stay again as very reasonable price and parking included.
Very surprised to have a room upgrade on check in thank you, very close to St Vincent's hospital which was why we chose the Metropole
Our family of four stayed for the weekend. Location to the Princess Theatre was perfect and easy walking distance to come back for a swim between the show! Great access to shops and restaurants in Fitzroy. Rooms lovely and spacious.
Great location and clean and comfortable room, my disappointment was seeing a staff member hosing down the concrete with the fire hose. Otherwise would recommend as a place to stay and off street parking is fantastic.
Stayed last nite, Friendly informative reception staff. Room very clean and comfortable. Excellent parking. Walking distant to St Vincents Hospital. Trams to city at door. Will stay again
Air conditioning in main living area was out of order and we were cold. Close to amenities we needed but does need a lot of maintenance.
No food available cafe closed.
The receptionist is the worst I ever had, she was looking at the computer until we went to approach her, no greeting or even saying hello, very rude and not helpful at all, would never come to this hotel again. She (the receptionist) said no even we still haven’t finish the question, don’t think a hotel should put a rude lady at the front desk to kick all the customers out. I don’t want to give any star for the service, would choose 0 or negative 5 if there is the option.
