My child has been attending for about two years and she can't wait to get on the mats with her friends, learn new things and challenge herself. She loves training with Ivan and I love the changes I see in her both on and off the mats. Ivan is a caring, patient and very dedicated teacher who knows how to engage the kids, bring the best in them and keep the lessons both fun and challenging. The discipline is good, ensuring that the kids are developing their skills and getting better at the art of Jiu Jitsu. A bonus- the facilities are very clean and well maintained and when the weather allows the roller door is open, so there is fresh air.

Melbourne Jiu-Jitsu has been welcoming and enjoyable place to come and learn BJJ. Ivan and the community have been friendly and extremely helpful in teaching Jiu Jitsu.

My partner and I have recently put our 5 year old son into the Academy and it has been fantastic to see the gradual change in his behaviour. We have tried other sports like soccer and tennis, which have all been good, but our son loves jiu-jitsu the most and we can see how the lessons are helping him. He is a hyperactive kid like most, but with constant care and attention as well as firm guidance from Ivan and his fellow teachers, it is helping him develop his respect and calmness. I highly recommend the Academy and look forward to seeing my son continue his lessons.

I started BJJ with Ivan at MJJA and love the entire place. The instructor Ivan is phenomenal, the students are great to drill and roll with. The mats are spacious too.

Family friendly gym with extreemely knowledgeable coaches. MJJA is somewhere you can find yourself a welcoming community of people and learn essential life skills. Classes include sport jiujitsu, nogi grappling and self defense techniques. Would recommend to anyone looking to improve or try something new!

I trained here for 2 months and loved every second of it. Ivan is such a great coach and makes everyone feel so welcome. He has created a great learning culture in the gym where everyone helps everyone and there is a real family atmosphere to it. I was brand new to BJJ and he made me feel so welcome and was clear in all his instructions.
The gym facilitates for new and experienced practitioners with a range of different classes and I could not recommend it enough if you are looking for somewhere to train. Thanks Ivan!
