Massaros reviews
76 Staff were lovely and views wonderful, but food overpriced. $59 per person for the group booking was not equivalent to the amount of food we received at all, I left hungry and that didn’t include drinks. They labelled us as a function, but there was no function room, we were just a big table.
Would strongly recommend ordering off the menu instead.
Place is beautiful but food very ordinary for the price. Salmon over cooked and asparagus burnt. Gelato handed to me in what looked like a take away coffee cup with two tiny dollops. Learn how to plate properly. Overpriced for poor food. Change chefs and train your wait staff properly.
Customer service was not the best, they were a bit rude and pushy. The food was the biggest let down of all. Pizza was salty, crust was over cooked and chewy, quite expensive for what was served and one pizza is not even cooked (The Masaro). The base was over cooked and topped with uncooked mozzarella and prosciutto. Over all, very bad experience. The only good thing was the view and music!
Views were great a pity about the food absolutely no idea what real cuisine is. Need to change chefs.
Customer service really lets this place down. The location, setting, views and food and drink is all worth raving about but the service was so disappointing. We came across 4 members of staff, none of whom really welcomed us, didn’t feel that we were looked after, and when we relayed this to the host.we got nothing, she looked at us quite blank. It would have to change for me to consider going back.
The staff were very helpful. The staff came to assistance anytime i required them. The tables were perfectly apart to where it didn't feel like i was squished and i was very free to move around if need be. The food was awesome well made and well served, the pizza and calamari chips (don't remember the name) really made it for me. The Jazz and the atmosphere was well preserved and didn't feel like too much.
Overall i completely recommend for a great outing and great meal
One star For the view only Mother's Day lunch was $68pp for supposedly 4 courses. Only three courses served mainly pizzas and very ordinary desserts chewy donuts with Nutella!? Service took a long time. Certainly no value for money not recommended.
Slow, missed one meal that was ordered and failed to notice that one diner was not eating. Waiter stacking used plates at our table, very annoying
Wasn't great and wouldn't return. Pizza very doughy and toppings just thrown in the middle. Gelati was about $5 a teaspoon and average. They serve twinings tea bags for $4.50 a cup so many better places around. Hopefully it improves as views are nice, shame they don't allow you to walk around the gardens.
$68 Mothers day lunch.advertised 4 course, only got 3. No choice set menu. Food very ordinary for the cost.certainly not value for money. Coffee. 2 reminders still no coffee.
2 Stars for great location.
I've been here twice recently. The first time was just to have a coffee, with an excellent lemon slice. Impressions as entering.huge carpark, beautiful garden, but unfortunately closed to wander thru. The garden surrounds the outside patio/dining area and is adjacent to a vineyard. It's a lovely spot, but it's the view towards the city of Melbourne over 30kms away that tops it off. On a sunny day it's the spot to be. The second time, I went for dinner and the pasta was very good. The sauce tasty and the serve sized well. Friends commented on a limited selection but I was happy enough. One friend complained the mussels were still in their shells in his pasta! D'oh. That was unfair I thought. The table service was friendly, attentive and efficient. The wine list had a good selection to suit multiple tastes including plenty from the local area.
Celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary with family. Truly enjoyable evening. Food was fabulous[and generous servings]. Staff helpful and friendly. As a local, we will be returning soon.
Very poor service waited for 15 mins to be offered a drink and food menu and then got the attention of a waiter to order wine, entree and pizza. The wine and entree came quickly and then waited 35 minutes for our pizza only after then asking where our order was, and was told there,
was a problem in the Kichen and waited another 10 minutes for our burnt pizza. When I went to pay the bill was asked to pay the total, amount and mentioned the pizza was burnt and 45 minutes late. Which was acknowledged and the bill was reduced. Being local we were very disappointed.
Situated across the road from the kangaroo ground lookout. Massaros definitely has the best sunset dining in the area.
Very accommodating as we had a dog and baby. Staff and owner very friendly and to top it off the best pizza iv had to date.
Only spewing i didnt take any pics to share. Well worth a visit.
Food great. Level of service deteriorated. 50 minutes for a pizza. Brought dishes out 25 mins apart.
Highly recommend this winery to all! The food was absolutely delicious, best pizzas we have ever had, the service was excellent and staff were very friendly and welcoming! The views are spectacular! We have been to many wineries in the Yarra Valley and would have to say this one is the best!
