Maroondah Reservoir Park reviews
48 Sadly this park remains neglected. Giant pot hole near entrance gate has been there for ages. Just getting bigger. Remember beautiful gardens when I was a child. Small group of volunteers trying to spruce up the place, but a mammoth task. No rubbish bins, Parks Victoria believe people would take their rubbish home. Guess what they don't. Generally lots of rubbish after weekends and public holidays. Some locals take other people's rubbish with them.
A real shame that this park looks so unloved. Please don't use the argument of returning park to native state as dead and damaged plants and trees are never replaced.
A beautiful large park with plenty of walks and open space. Lots of parking, especially during the week
What a beautiful place for almost everything.
In this park you can walk, picnic, view good places and many other things.
We enjoyed from this place.
But there were two things need to be fix;
1- the restroom and 2- parking lots.
These two things are not clean and asphalt.
It is a wonderful place to take family, clean and very scenic, the walk trails are also fantastic with beautiful scenery and view of the dam and the water reserve, views from top of the dam are simply stunning.
Had a fantastic time at Maroondah Reservoir Park, Healesville. The serene atmosphere and beautiful scenery made for a perfect day out with the kids. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway.
Serene location with a lot of history. Was able to admire the construction of the dam and the peacefulness of the area while taking a stroll across the dam. Beautiful views of the reservoir and the park, just a few locals jogging in the area but overall worth the stop to have a look see!
Visited at end July 2023, a very nice and calm place for a short break from driving. Walking around in this cold weather is so refreshing coming from Singapore. Love it.
Recently, my husband and I stumbled upon this amazing retreat, and it's become a favorite we can't resist visiting. The sheer beauty and tranquility of the place are unparalleled, offering everything you need for a perfect outing. From serene picnic spots and barbecue areas to expansive play zones and a breathtaking waterfall, every corner exudes charm. The dam viewpoint provides a stunning panorama, and the various walking tracks let you explore at your own pace. Colorfully vibrant parrots add to the enchantment, and the availability of bird food lets you get up close. Plus, ample free parking makes it incredibly convenient. This destination is more than just a spot—it's an oasis of natural delight and relaxation that continues to beckon.
One of the must visit places in Victoria. The dam is very beautiful. The water fall and other views are also cannot be missed.
Nice short walks and beautiful area for a picnic. The reservoir wall is amazing and the spillway is flowing atm so a beautiful albeit man made waterfall can be viewed.
Get there early in the morning and walk up the dam wall and return via the forest path to car park. Climb to the look out. Amazing walk and views
Lovely atmosphere and huge place. Superb view from the top of the dam. You can walk on it.
Lots of places to sit and eat your food. Picnic friendly
The water level in the reservoir was quite low as it hasn’t rained enough in Vic but the trek up to it is scenic and the park is green & vast. The walk along the reservoir wall is a battleground of a gazillion tiny flying insects / mozzies! We could barely stay atop the wall for 5 min. Masks came handy
Maroondah Reservoir is a beautiful spot to get relax. It has magnificent surroundings with a huge reservoir, high damp. A perfect picnic spot with Electric BBQ, public toilets, tables and chaira, tall high tree, perfect lookout points are also available. Well worth a visit
Been coming here for over 50 years and it is still a great place for a day trip. Heaps of things to do for kids and adults alike. There is plenty of room for games etc and has stacks of picnic tables and BBQ facilities scattered throughout the park. Fantastic walking tracks and endless photo opportunities also good toilet facilities. Highly recommend if your heading to the Healesville area.
Beautiful place for a weekend picnic and family gatherings. Mobile network is weak, you have been warned. Bbq places, water taps and toilets are available. You can't swim in the reservoir but I am confused with fishing. Overall, I would recommend visiting this place for a nice outing when going around yarra valley wineries.
It's scenic and mellow. A lot of different birds to hear and see. The dam itself was low on water when we got there, but the clouds touching the mountains and trees holding them down was worth the drive. Not a lot of halal options available but the coffee tastes really super here, lol.
Definitely will visit again with atleast a couple of days to stay and enjoy the serenity.
Its a very beautiful place. Kids
will get a better idea about dam and water bodies.
Go there with some bird feed. Feed the parrots and Cockatoos, they are very friendly. Great place to take good pictures
Very clean, plenty of picnic spots with some shade available. Public restrooms are clean and well stocked. Trains were fun to walk on.
Wonderful place. One who love tranquility must visit. Stairs are very well planned for going up. I found that people with disability managed to move at the top. But there was no wheel chair access for the top. Pathway, that created a natural ramp, is not safe and easy for wheel chair.
