Mamasita

Not as good but still good. Doesn't sound fair, I know. Maybe it was more the atmosphere. The tortilla was dry, don't know why. But it's still a great restaurant so get in there.

Have been coming here since it opened more than a decade ago, haven't been in the last few years and unfortunately don't think I'll be back after coming this week. The place is lovely, great service, lovely view when sitting at the window. But the food and drinks are really sub par now. The Elote was delicious, but the tacos and everything else was overly sweet, lacking any herbs, didn't come with any Pico de Gallo (which they always used to), even the green hot sauce on every table only had a tablespoon at best in the bottle.
Best part of Mexican food is the big flavour, the spice, etc. It was just bland unfortunately. Even my Yuzu margarita which says to have a chilli rim on the menu, had no chilli, and tasted more like a premix - tangy, no kick, couldn't taste the tequila.
Just unfortunate all round, other than the delicious corn. Will miss this place, had a big place in my heart.

Went to Mamasita for dinner on the 15th of July 2023- Service was fantastic. We had 2 lovely ladies who were extremely hospitable and attentive to our needs. Food was great too but service definitely topped it!

Food was lovely, it's set in a very dark style room. So I definitely needed my glasses haha
But staff are great. Margaritas had way too much salt around the glass which was overwhelming

Nice Mexican…can be better with addition of few more vegetarian options…. Am sure it can do well…lil effort ….

Fantastic early dinner, we had the tasting menu and the food was deliciously fresh, Spicy, surprising and the staff were fabulous

Staff were wonderful. Great selection of wines. Atmosphere is lovely. Food was good at best, somewhat bland and quite disappointing. Beef taco was terrible with a weird tasting sauce (inedible), pork taco flavour was good but overly fatty and oily, lamb shoulder was quiet good, dessert served with the banquet was boring. The best thing we ate was the corn on the cob. I remember coming to mamasita some time ago and had great memories. After my recent experience I sadly wouldn’t be back. Such a shame for the staff as they are so lovely and professional.

The food was fantastic, the cocktails were amazing (highly recommend the Mexican Mojito) and the service was exceptional! One of the absolute best restaurants in Melbourne with a great vibe. A+

Overall fantastic, only one drawback.
Entree: corn, delicious. Worth it.
Main: pork taco- tasty, but kinda oddly over greasy. A bit drowned in sauce/juices presumably from the cured onions
Drink: smoky margarita- just plain old solid.
Service: excellent. Fast friendly and attentive. Highlight.
Worth the visit:)

The food was bland and needed salt. The guacamole was just smashed avocado with no seasonings. The wait staff was amazing

Lovely location for dinner, food was delicious and wait staff were lovely. GST is not included in the menu price.

I went on Saturday for a birthday celebration. We paid a course meal and for the price (way too much) the food was really plain (tasteless) and not mexican at all. Lamb was overcooked, octopus just a small piece and vegetarian a rosted eggplant? And the ceviche We could taste just the coconut. It was a pity as we spent a lot and didn't enjoy the food. I went to the place because or the reviews, but definitely the main courses were disappointing.

Delicious but overpriced. The lenga tacos were the absolute best and the item that kept me coming back regardless of the high prices but they are no longer on the menu.: (

I’m not sure if it’s new owners or not since lockdown. But last year the food was excellent. Today the food was relatively bland. The service was good though

Amazing! Will be back and try more stuff! Love the tacos and our server (long hair guy, sorry I forgot to ask your name) is so attentive and even make sure I was ok with the food as I’m pregnant! Marvelous! Top notch service. Also we did ask about their famous corn ice cream and he made it happen for us! Such an amazing dinner. Thank you again and again! He deserves a reward!

I always enjoy coming back to this restaurant for nice Mexican. Can get quite busy but the food is always lovely. Would recommend the fish tacos (if available) and tequila cocktails.

I love mamasita. Fresh and tasty Mexican meals. Delicious margaritas that are way too easy to drink.

We had the pleasure of experiencing the wonderful food of Mamasita last night. The Melbourne lockdown has hindered our access to dining with Mamasita. The pop up restaurant at Miss Kneady in Templestowe allowed us to again experience their flavour bomb of food from the comfort of our own home. Food was provided with a combination of ready made and simple reheating options, very clear instructions, and a Spotify playlist to create the restaurant atmosphere. Excellent job all round Mamasita Team!

Our favourite CBD restaurant and luckily came to our suburb as a pop up on our wedding anniversary! Feed me menu at home was awesome. The team were well organised and slick when we picked up our food and the instructions and curated Spotify playlist really helped us feel like we were in the CBD on a night at without the journey home on a train! Well done team great good and experience even though we couldn't come to you? !
