Yeah i dunno it's a bit fancy rather than being a cool dive pub but the food was nice enough. Very busy when I was there.

Dinner with the crew, second time visiting a pub, spacious room quite busy on a Tuesday night. In the corner the cricket/soccer plays on the screen.
Is $30 for fish & chips standard at places like these? I'm not sure but the serving was HUGE! Man sized I'd already planned to get half takeaway before we started. Crispy fries, those flat grilld shaped ones. Salad was blah with only a spot of dressing, we need more lemon. Fish was good though. Tartar sauce a little thick. Friends had the pork salad and parma, both huge and delicious they say.

Service was friendly. There was an offer, per 2 mains free bottle of wine! Not my scene, but recommended for huge servings, weeknight dinners, family friendly. $15 parma mondays peaked our interest.

My group ordered 4 porterhouse steaks for 38$ each. All of the steaks were overcooked, ordered medium rare and they came out medium at best. Mushroom sauce was just regular gravy with some diced mushroom on top, horribly bland. Possibly the worst steak I've ever had.

We have been here a few times to watch the footy in the sports bar. Can't go past the $15 pot and parma. But the other meals that people have ordered have also been good. Just a great relaxed feel, kid friendly.

$17 parmas on a Monday! We spontaneously came here after we found this deal online. It was well worth it!

Steak sandwich too grisly and came as American large open bun. Didn't like the typical yellow American style cheese. But It was a very generous size including mushrooms and salad.

Relaxed casual dining room with plenty of space between tables.
Super clean restrooms. Easy access on Tram route 72.
Courteous service, menu with very explicit and clear info, and my order of well done peppercorn sauce porterhouse steak was impeccable: well done, super tender and super flavoursome. Fab chef!

Definitely revisiting and bringing guests, a venue that will not embarrass you with guests.

Been loyal customers here for a few years. Unfortunately the service has declined and we won’t be back.

Very misleading midweek deal. Order two mains and get a bottle of wine. Since when was a $30 pasta not classified as a main? Poor form. Last time I checked, people ate pastas for a main. Simple not good enough!

This establishment was average. The sound of pokies was some scenic ambience for what was an average drink. Staff were mediocre. Won’t be coming back

5 star is not enough!
1. Incredible hosting, I didn’t get the name of the Manager who was Funny, courteous, polite and just awesome. We made a wrong booking and he didn’t hesitate to get a booth for us.
2. Entertained my kid (believe it or not he did a better job than us as parents)
3. Amazing food, the gold standard in classic pub meals, the lamb backstrap, was everything I needed in a nice piece of grilled meat, same goes for the salmon and the linguini
4. They sent a bowl of chips for being late

Gone above and beyond considering all the Covid struggles of late!

Wow. These guys charge 16 bucks for a jug of soda water and 4 bucks for a pot it; you can get beer cheaper than this at other places. The food can be pretty hit and miss.

Great local with friendly bar staff and tasty food. Only advice don’t go into the beer garden on a Friday afternoon, wasted tradies!

The online sport bar menu priced a chicken parmigiana at $14 and the home page proudly advertised the ‘$15 pot and Parma every day’ special. Upon arrival we were told that this very special that we came for was not actually available at all. They then also charged us $25 for the parmigiana alone (in the sports bar), which came out within a minute of ordering and had clearly been under a heat lamp for some time as the cheese was congealed and the crumbing was soggy. Can’t see any of our group returning after that. Barely scores the single star for having decent enforcement of COVID precautions. Shocking.

Food excellent Salmon and vegetables and a spaghetti marinara and a great bottle of Snobbs Creek Red. So met with our lofty expectations in a really comfortable atmosphere.

Went down Thursday night for a quiet pint and punt, was having a great time until Keith came over and fingered me. Good experience until then, have to deduct three stars because of this.

Malvernvale hotel has always been one of my favourite pub meal venues. The food is delicious and affordable. I am a pretty big guy with a big appetite, Malvernvale hotel is the perfect place for me when I wanna to grab a good bite. The Parma is smashingly good, I also like the burger, the schnitzel, the penne carbonara and also the salt & pepper calamari. Highly recommended, one of my favourite places!

Better food at many other places.including the restaurants within 5 min walk. No Value for Money. Good for a drink or to play pokies.

On a Friday night so no specials like Parma or Steak night which are on Mondays and Tuesdays. Well organised pub with a good kitchen and extensive menu.

The night Indian staff do not have manner to talk with customers they are racist they do judgement according to the color. They need to be changed.
