Malee Thai Highton reviews
55 Positives - the polite and respectful wait person who greeted me, found my takeaway order and ensured I checked order so as it was accurate. Mask worn correctly.
Negatives - very concerning that two staff members in the restaurant were not wearing masks. One not at all, and one around her chin. Businesses are hurting at the moment due to forlough of close contact/unwell staff. The general public are very hesitant to go out because of exploding Covid numbers. This behaviour does not help anyone. Please, do the right thing and MASK UP, for people's health, as well as your long term business interests.
Best part is service, Tom Yum soup was not as expectation.it was full of big chunky vegetables like Curry in Bowl, beef salad was so sour not mentioned like in menu, char grilled and Fish Fried also was not enjoyable.
Food was amazing, very tasty and great portion sizes, staff very friendly and the venue is lovely
The chef saves this place from a being an over priced one star debacle.
Thier service is slow
Thier pricing is debatable
Most of their meals are pretty good tho.
Tip - always check your receipt and make sure they have not been over charged.
People must have really low standards to think this food is good. The food kinda sucks. I ordered fried rice with prawns and chicken. Only one prawn in the whole thing. Not too mention, the chicken was under cooked. Also there was a piece of black wire in the fried rice! Yuck! Food is definitely not worth the price.
Anyone that says their vege pad med isn't up there with the absolute best of them. Amazing, amazing authentic food. Love it.
Food okay but service was terrible. Asked for the dessert menu from one waitress and then when we went to order we were told there are no desserts.
The food is tasteless and the price is not worth for their food. The wait time is 30 mins and waiting for the food makes me not hungry anymore. I would not recommend this place as there are heaps of thai restaurants that would be better and cheaper
Best Thai ever in Geelong, that I have found beautiful coconut rice both green n red are yum with so much veges n perfect amount of spice
Joshua’s Wife here. Just a tad of a wait upon arrival, service and quality of food more than make up for it. Bonza stuff
Food is absolutely amazing! Not as spicy as I would like but incredibly flavourful. But I would recommend picking up and not delivery, the delivery times with Menulog are very long and the food is barely warm on arrival.
I am his regular customer, also pick up his ubereat driver. Each time show up the staff treated me differently. Smile as a customer, treated like a dog when pick up food orders as ubereat driver. You decide. I don't taste any spectacular as a 20years chef, same Thai food in the area is much better regardless they may have better location. I rather drive far
Seafood Tom Yum had a single prawn and a packet full of baby corn - awful.
Pad Thai was inedible - a bad vinegar taste
Green Chicken Curry - tasteless
Rice - overcooked and gluggy
Roti - cold and thick oil
Very rude staff. This restaurant has worst staff they are so rude towrads delivery drivers I went up to restaurant to pickup oder and the lady at counter was like how did you come in she told me you are not supposed to come in restaurant like if I am some bad person
Food was not as good as I'd hoped, Beef stir fry was chewy, Tom Yum not spicy even though we ordered extra spicy, sauces for curry puff, average, chicken stay dry, but Penny Lane Shiraz was lovely, Duck curry hmm.no access for wheel chair, (on 1st floor) service was good, polite informative.
Unfortunately it took 40 mins for our mains to arrive. Our kids had chicken skewers (dry), I had Massuman Curry (mostly potato for filler). Five minutes later (after a 45 min wait) my wife's Tom Ka soup arrived.with inedible dry chicken and uncooked/raw vegetables. Small serve too ($17). Spent $80 for extremely low standard Thai food. We've been loving incredible food in Geelong and the Great Ocean Road the last few weeks but this restaurant took the title for worst quality food and service (45min for a Tom Ka with only one other table seated) and most expensive. Would not recommend to anyone whom loves great Thai food, or receiving food promptly.
Had a truely enjoyable new years eve meal here and byo wine which is great. Great view from the balcony. Will go there again
Unfortunately it was not as good as we expected. The meals were far too sweet. We didn't enjoy, it was not worth the money. The Pad Thai was the recommendation of the wait staff.but I couldn't eat a mouthful, it was sickly sweet, and slimy noodles. We will not be back.
WISH THEYD LOOK AFTER LOCALS BEFORE UBER. Very dissapointing. After being told 40min wait for phone order we wait longer than 1.5 hours only to be told we are about in the middle of their orders - behind a bunch of uber eats. Cancelled the order. They happily gave money back.
I suggest look after your locals who are able to come pick up your food. If you can't keep up STOP TAKING ORDERS OR HIRE MORE STAFF. As you can tell I'm pretty hangry.
Friendly service from the counter however the wait time for takeaway is outrageous. Told 40mins and still waiting 1.5hrs later.
