Staff inside made eye contact, and then ignored without providing a reason or alternative opening time.

So much cool I could spend hours in their store - homeware, outdoor ware, even underwear! One of the largest collections of Marimekko this side of Finland -
A visit to Make is a visit to heaven for me & I do love that the staff just leave you to browse as long as you want - no pressure, no judgement, but they’re there to help if you need anything

I first visited ‘make designed objects’ a couple of years ago to buy my son’s girlfriend a Blunt umbrella. She loved it and I did as well, so I bought one for myself. Over the lockdown last year I was impressed with the way this store pretty much fought for their existence, sending out regular emails in which the writer’s sense of humor often made made day. During that time I purchased a magnificent glass for gin, and a very cute Marimekko coffee cup as gifts. I have since been back to buy more gifts for my family. This shop really is the ‘go to’ place for me when I want to purchase something special for a friend or family member.

Make is one of our favourite design places to visit in Melbourne. We particularly like the extensive array of Fink and Marimekko products plus lots of other Scandi goodies. We also enjoy the newsletter and the ‘quote of the week’ and ‘cow pics’. Looking forward to the next newsletter. We are loyal fans who WILL be back.

Great shop with huge range and friendly staff. Not cheap but they regularly have 15% off everything. Subscribe to their newsletter to know when (and for the cow pics).

Big fan and customer since Make opened in the early 2000's. I'd just arrived from London so the huge international range resonated! Great products, knowledge, humour, service.and not a bad playlist to accompany you on your travels through the store! Can't recommend highly enough.keep up the good work Pat!

Make Designed Objects has been my ‘go to’ shop for gifts for many years. And their complimentary gift wrapping is stylish and beautiful, in keeping with their products. It’s a rare visit to the shop when I don’t also get something for myself as well, with their Australian designer, Fink, being a longtime favourite. Great staff too.

Make (MDO) saved us during lockdown in Melbourne (June 2021). We were at our wits' end to find appropriate gifts for our son's birthday, until we found Make. Lockdown or not, we now know where to go. Stylish gift wrapping as well. Outstanding experience overall. Thank you so much MDO!
