Mai Jia reviews
70Good portion size for the price. Service is very friendly. Really enjoyed the fish ball laksa! Glad this place is close to home, so I can stop by regularly.
My favourite restaurant everything is beautiful there the dishes are amazing the staff are lovely I love the food here you must try the Chicken
Best curry laksa I've had in ages. The broth was thick, delicious and comforting. I was able to request Hokkien noodles only and the char grilled chicken on top was cooked perfectly.
Fast, friendly service - cannot wait to go back and try the duck laksa:)
We went to Mai jia about 6 months ago by chance and absolutely fell in love with the whole place.
The owners and staff are super friendly, very welcoming and the food is spectacular no matter what you eat.
Servings are plentiful and very reasonably priced.
We ordered for friends last night.
Food was amazing as always.
Restaurants like this one are what makes you want to come back again and again!
5 stars!
Mai jia consistently delivers delicious and authentic food - I particularly love their laksa. Friendly and attentive service. Good prices. This restaurant is one of my go-tos! Will highly recommend to anyone.
We didn’t expect this. The flavor, fragrance, quality of ingredient and serving size all of them are five out of five. Laksa is sold everywhere in Melbourne but wonder if where else can make authentic but tasty laksa like here. Especially I loved crab laksa I had, the meat of crab, combination of two types of noodle and soup.everything was fantastic! My partner also ordered different type of laksa and he loved his too!
What an ABSOLUTE Gem. My daughter had been telling me about this place for sometime. So i took her there for valentine's dinner, and a few others. The food was FABULOUS. So fresh, so many different dishes to choose from. I think it was the owner who was serving us. She was delightful. Can't WAIT to go back and try more delicious items from the menu. We ordered a lot, total was $25. Per head.
Very authentic Malaysian food, my favourites are the char kueh teow and the fish ball noodle soup
We had the laksa, chicken rice and chicken satay! It was all delicious. Will definitely go back
Being a Malaysian and living in South Yarra, it is an obvious choice to go to Mai Jia to try it out. At first I was skeptical as there were not many Malaysian restaurant in Melbourne that serves Authentic Malaysian food. After reading some of the reviews, I finally gave it a try and to my surprise, this place is quite good! Presentation is nice too! Honestly speaking, it is pretty close to the taste you get in Malaysia. Yes, some of the reviewers like it some don't but it all comes down to personal preference. Just like in Malaysia, you get some really good stuffs at some of the coffee shops while not so much at the others.
Way too expensive for what it is. Food wasn't bad but not great either. You can get cheaper and more authentic Malaysian food elsewhere.
Our favourite local, service with a smile every time, reasonable prices for Sth Yarra and an extensive menu:)
Amazingly delicious food. Popular but quaint and quiet. Friendly customer service and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend
I got the crispy tofu, vege pork buns, roti bread and NZ Sav Blanc. I could not fault the food in any way.in fact I could not fault the restaurant in any way. Friendly staff, beautiful setting and all round a great time! Thank you for your hospitality we will see you again
Absolutely my favourite Asian Malaysian restaurant. Been going there for about three years.such a friendly environment. Love it ️
A lot of dishes to choose from and there is always one for you! Taste amazing and reasonably priced.
I like their decorations with red bricks wall and cherry blossom
Very friendly and helpful staff
Good compliments - not only a cup of water with a slide of orange inside, but also a cup of hot jasmine tea
However, a little bit noisy from the kitchen.
Overall, they provide the tasty hainanese chicken rice.
Food is really good and the price is quite standard, actually it should be considered as cheap for this area (South yarra)
Amazing food and fantastic service! They are always welcoming, know all of their customers and their food is really good.
Don’t trust in the delivery businesses. Go there, experience great food, a warm atmosphere and a lovely host.
Both the owner and the chef are dedicated to great food, full of flavour and at very reasonable prices.
My only concern is that for the quality and flavour they squeeze in, their prices are low, which may make it harder to “just turn up” as they get ever more popular. Always good to book.
Fantastic food and lovely customer service
I always go for the seafood laksa! Never disappointed.
