Maccaroni Trattoria Italiana reviews
62Simple yet high quality Italian. I particularly enjoyed the casual atmosphere. Wasn't a hassle booking seats and food was tasty.
Crass westernised food, poor service and a disappointing end to a friend’s birthday. The wait staff didn’t even have basic knowledge of Italian pasta sauces. An error in my order meant I ate 20+ minutes after the rest of my table. The manager had said he would comp my meal. To add insult to injury when the correct meal came it was overly salted and I could not finish it. Certainly not worth $33. I gave up sending it back a second time because my friends were close to finished their maons. I told the waitress when she came to take my plate; she challenged me on why I hadn’t said anything earlier, when my friends had already begun their desert. Then she had the gall to offer me a dessert menu, which would not be on the house. I have walked past this place countless times and now I know why.
Great little restaurant, been coming here for years and it's been great to see the restaurant grow. Great food and service. Food comes out fairly quickly.
Online menu not the same as what is actually available. The pasta I had was paccheri frairelli & sausage but it was par boiled par grilled pasta stuffed with tasteless soggy green slime which may have been silverbeet at some stage mixed with minuscule pieces of what could have been some form of pressed ham but the pieces were too small to taste all served without a trace of sauce.
Has noticeably gone down hill. No longer authentic like it used to be. First dined in 2014 and was blown away. So much so I had recommended it friends from interstate who were staying at the Novatel. Loved it on more than one occasion. 5th time now and the last two were very dissaponting and we won't be returning nor recommending.
My daughter & I ordered the pappardelle with truffle sauce. The dish seriously lacked salt & there was no salt on the tables. My husband & my daughter's partner had lasagna, neither had bechamel sauce even though the menu referred to it. We ordered some garlic bread to share. It tasted like the garlic had been burned, it was quite bitter in taste. I won't be returning.
Pretty bulk standard Italian food. Came here for a quick lunch and it was filling. Nice that they had vegan options but it wasn't anything to write home about.
The food was okay, the service could have been worked more on. As it's quite slow, it takes quite a long time for your bill to come if your on the 2nd floor of the restaurant.
Ahh questo ristorante è buono.this restaurant is good! Online booking system needs to be looked at but even though we had pre booked and confirmed and even though our booking wasnt visible to the front of house staff they still accommodated us.the pizza was AMAZING.and well priced cocktails too!
Certainly not bad, but a bit overpriced for the quality of the food, which was pretty good but not amazing. With 11-inch pizza and Pelligrini's nearby I don't think I'll be going here again
Went for a late dinner while visiting Melbourne. Welcoming atmosphere with charming Italian style decor (vintage photos) but with a modern feel. Menu is not overcomplicated, food was well presented, well made and delicious with focus on freshness and flavour (unpretentious). Friendly staff and families/kids are welcome which gives the place a nice sense of community.
Went here three times during my four day vidit to Melbourne. Always got the Spaghetti Carbonara and got an affogato. It was always amazing! I wish I could go back just to eat there more!
Ordered all of today's menu. Oysters went a bit off. They smelled fishy which would never be acceptable since it was on the today's special. The restaurant didn't charge oysters but I do not expect the attitude "If it was not good, we will just bring it back. " to restaurants. I want to pay whatever they want and get the best quality of foods. Pasta and pizza which also were todays special were nothing impressive.
Overall, cheap dining with friendly atmosphere and moderate food. But Not recommendable with my standard.
We had the garlic bread, lasagna, spaghetti marinara. Well portioned and tasted great. Reasonable price for Melbourne and location. Service was good even on a very busy Saturday night.
Ordered the lasagna and the margherita pizza. We felt that it wasn't value for money. The cheese on the pizza wasn't enjoyable and the lasagna was good, but not $23 good. The customer service was good. But didn't enjoy the experience on a whole.
Had a wonderful evening with quick seating, quick service and quick food which was not rushed and very delicious. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will be coming back
Went there for a late lunch. Great friendly service and nice ambiance. The calamari salad and grilled vegetables were amazing however the taste of the pastas were slightly lacking.
Had a blast here for Christmas dinner with a bunch of friends. Really nice seafood stew, paella and pizza are also good. Staff was nice and friendly. Restroom a bit far but it’s okay
They always have a couple of vegan options. On my last visit it was at lunch time and I was so excited to find the spaghetti Arrabiata on the specials list! So yum! Staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
One of the best pizza's I have ever eaten! Staff were lovely and had a cute, cosy atmosphere. Bruschetta and chips were the perfect entree, both tasted amazing. Cannot recommend this place enough
