Maccaroni Trattoria Italiana

Staff were so lovely and accommodating. They were busy but when we asked how long the kitchen was taking (because we had tickets to a show in an hour!) they ensured we weren't late. Food was yum as well.

The risotto marinara was a bit more soupy than I would've preferred it, I like my risotto creamy, but it was ok in taste. The canollo was good size and nice creamy texture.

The service was fast but if you seat outside you have to constantly make signs to the waiters inside if you need anything or are ready to order. Other than that the service was good.

Great food and amazing service. The staff were very engaging. Certainally a great place to eat.

Great friendly helpful staff, good food & drink (thy use a sweet tonic not to everybody liking) including coffee.

My wife and I celebrated Valentines Day dinner at this restaurant yesterday. Whilst the service was good with courteous staff, the food was not up to much and possibly contaminated. My wife developed serious vomiting bouts early this morning (possibly some sort of food poisoning) and I am experiencing un-easiness in the stomach and out of sorts. A disappointing night out!

Great service, very accommodating for my son with ASD, they made an off menu pizza for him.

The place is in a little street on the middle of the town, quick service: ideal when you are out for shopping!

Walked in last night as they weren’t taking any bookings. The place smells amazing and was really busy. Our waiter from L’Escala was the best. Delicious food. I would’ve liked to see a bigger wine list.

The papardelle funghi and gnocchi sorrentina were alright, it smelled good but tasted pretty bland. Not worth the price for the portion and taste.

Our friends who ordered the risotto felt it was just decent, but the rest who had pizzas had a better time. Maybe they specialize in pizzas more, so try those out instead if you come by.

The service is great, the staff were attentive to our needs and very accommodating! The atmosphere is not too bad, but it can get very noisy during the busy hours

I'm an Argentinian who has lived the Italian food her whole life and I can say the quality of this food is very poor. Bland, chewy and hard dough.
My boyfriend booked us along with a friend for my birthday and the 3 plates where terrible.
Also, when I ask to the waitress (I reckon it was Anna her name, not sure) for a plate with the sauce of another plate she told me "no" in a very rude way. Plus, how is possible that in a restaurant they cannot serve you the sauce you want? I go to restaurants all the time and this is the first time this happens to me. UNBELIEVABLE.

Great find in Manchester Lane! Authentic Italian food. Great service and atmosphere. We had the Bruschetta and Arancini balls to start which were very tasty. For main we had Pasta Al Forno and Penne Arrabiatta with garlic bread. Then we finished off with dessert and had a Tiramisu and a Panna Cotta which were beautifully presented, rich and decadent.

We loved this rustic little restaurant tucked away on Manchester Ln, perfect for an intimate dinner. The food was delicious! I would recommend trying the arrancini balls or the maccaroni incasciati. We'll definitely be back!

Our evening was delightful. The atmosphere was cosy and the service was quick and personal. I would recommend the Pappardelle Truffle, it was delicious. Thank you for your terrific service and our delicious meals.

This place was one of the best Italian food I have had in Melbourne by far. The flavour, taste, portion size and ambience was 5 stars. It's a hidden gem- I will be back and will be recommending my friends!

I had the gnocchi with two dry, chewy pieces of.bacon? The sauce was bland, in fact without the bacon I think there was no salt on it, so it was chew on the bacon to get a little salt. The gnocchi looked like it was purchased frozen, the sizes were too regular and the texture wasn't right. It was food, I could eat it.but I'm not ever coming back.

My wife had the pasta special, the portion looked really small and the napolitana sauce looked sad. When paying the bill I told them about it, they said that's just how napolitana sauce is. I swear i get far better sauce in the supermarket, at least a sauce that isn't orange, napolitana should be red and still rich in flavour.

Overall, very sad for a place that calls themselves a trattoria.

Ps, To the owner: the gnocchi was not with a red sauce, it had a white sauce. My review isn't too harsh, it's honest. Instead of being defensive you should appreciate that I took my time to give you the review, which btw matches other bad reviews I've seen here. Maybe just look into it, maybe get someone that certainly understands more than me to independently check the quality of the food.

Have been here a couple of times now. Waiter was very switched on, food came out quickly. Pasta was fantastic. Can get a bit loud inside but overall a great experience - excellent tasty food and good waiters that do their job.

We like to go here. Encourage talking rather than phone use. Service is great food is better. Happy staff, nourishing food.

This is my 2nd time here after a few years and I didn't love my pasta dish. I felt last time my meals were much more authentic.

I came here with others and there were mix reviews. Some liked it and some thought it was ok.

With this experience, I'm not sure if I would like to come back. Also because, someone brought dessert from elsewhere for a birthday, and we were charged $22 to store it in their fridge. It actually wasn't a cake as we couldn't get one. So I understand Maccaroni serves dessert and maybe this was why they charged us, but thought $22 was steep. So if you plan to have a birthday and bring a cake, please check with the restaurant first.
