Lorne Hotel

Rated three stars but should really be 2.5. Mediocre service where staff seemed uninterested and unfriendly, and low-level mediocre food. I had the fish and chips which was cold and chewy and my husband had the chicken curry which was dry even though there was ample sauce. Absolutely overpriced and I know this isn’t the fault of the restaurant but the drinks selection was mediocre as well. Would have liked to be impressed with this place but won’t be back.

Vegetarian curry was great but there were people in there and at least 17 of them were demons - 6 of them told me they had seen a demon, and one of them drove to the venue in a van with a demon driving

Meals used to be excellent.menu has changed, for example they dropped their excellent fantastic calamari salad which we drove 2 hours from Melbourne to have for lunch. "times are changing " was the only reasoning given.

The food we got (burger, parmi, spaghetti bolognese) was about as good as you'd expect from a place that gets a lot of non repeat tourist business. Decent beer selection and the view was worth the underwhelming food.

This place is so relaxing. Sitting on the deck, a glass of wine in hand, with views of the beach and if you like people watching then it's perfect.

The food we ordered came out cold & had to be sent back to the kitchen. The 2nd lot of food was still very average for the hefty price we paid. I wouldn’t return there for another meal.

Good pub great location. Two visits maybe not enough to fully be fair. Friendly staff but Food and beer prices OTT. Guess they get away with it. Drive up the hill and try the Grand Pacific

Worst service in the whole Great Ocean Road. They decided to close the kitchen half an hour earlier without previous advice and the manager said: “you can go find something else somewhere else, I don’t fuc***g care” place is really average anyway so do not waste your time here.

Have been to the restaurant on two separate occasions and undoubtedly will never come here again. On my first visit I asked a staff member where I could find the menus, however I must have caught her on an off day because she yelled at me to find them outside (without any specificity about where to actually locate them outside). This was a terrible first impression. On the second occasion (26 Dec. 2018), I spent $260 on lunch and was not given a tartar sauce that was initially ordered (despite being repeated back to me). Upon asking a server for it, she returned to the table only to demand $2 for what was a tiny thimble of sauce. The audacity to charge a measly two dollars on top of a $350 bill (food + drinks) was off-putting to say the least. There are much better places to eat in Lorne with far better service.
