Asked if I could have a jumpsuit taken up within the hour (because I was running late) much to my delight, they were able to accommodate and were so lovely about it! Rate the team, service and quality really highly. Thank you again!

Humiliated for trying to pay on two receipts. I would rate -5 stars if I could.

I visited around 6pm on the 23/11/23 to have a few things altered:
1. Pleated skirt shortened
2. Pants shortened
^both adding up to $137.50

3. Re-sewing a ribbed hem to a cropped sweatshirt, both pieces provided ($40)
4. Adding a zipper to a billabong beach tote, new zipper to be ordered ($72)
^both adding up to $112

Now the exorbitant cost isn’t the main issue.

When I was paying, I asked if I could pay for the pants+skirt and sweatshirt+bag separately. Cam (?) who was doing the receipts was struggling to understand which items should be paired together. I had to repeat it 3-4 times for her to understand, which is fine - there are four things in the order.

The problem starts when Cam’s “friend” is there to finalise/pick up their order. Cam asks their friend to take my personal details on the counter (first+last name, phone number), and I told them “I didn’t know you work here”, to which they replied that they don’t, but they just help out a bit everywhere?
It’s strange that a non-staff is manning the front computer but whatever.

When Cam is taking ages trying to process the receipts afterwards, other customers start to wait in a queue behind me. Cam’s friend tells me that there’s a massive queue waiting behind me because my order is “complicated”.
I feel bad but there’s nothing I can do; I’m literally also waiting on Cam. Cam’s friend just acts like she works there and tells another girl who is in a hurry that it won’t be much longer.
When everything is finally paid, Cam’s friend taunts me again saying “Are we finally done? You’ve been keeping _ (the other random customer) on her toes”. I apologised to the others but felt really wronged by Cam’s friend.

I was shamed and embarassed in front of others, just for wanting to have items on two separate receipts.
I’m a paying customer too and my request isn’t that hard - in literally any shop when you want to gift something to a friend you can pay separately. Hell, I’ve worked in retail and it’s just one extra transaction.
Yet at Looksmart Alterations Emporium, I am humiliated for paying on two separate receipts - by the shopkeeper’s friend who is allowed to take the customers’ personal details and act like they run the place. Apparently two separate orders is too “complicated”.
If another customer is in a rush, maybe the staff should’ve planned around that seemingly urgent customer or communicated about it first instead of berating me.
It’s not my job to ask every other customer if they need their jobs done ASAP… it’s also not my fault that the front desk struggles to understand instructions and is so slow.

I’ve never had a horrible retail experience until now. I was purposely guilt-tripped and shamed just for placing an order in a way which the staff are not used to. An order which I was going to pay full-price for, and it was already *extremely* overpriced.

I decided after an hour or so that I wanted a REFUND, and said that I changed my mind.

I don’t want to give my money to a shop that is so happy to disrespect its paying customers when it gets a bit busy.
This is NOT the place to go for customer service. Expect bad attitude instead. Maybe Cam can bring all her other rude friends to do her work and tell customers off.

I bought a belt for $20. Went to Looksmart Alterations for punching 3 more holes in the belt. It literally takes 5 seconds each to punch in. All the markings was done already by me. Overcharged $15 for literally 30-40seconds Max of work. Absolute rip-off. Or atleast state it's $15 for your 30seconds work before doing it.

Really great experience at this particular Looksmart. I had a pair of pants tailored, taken up and taken in at the waist. The knowledge of staff is wonderful and very considered. The fit of the pants when I picked them up was perfect! Thank you for the service and professionalism. It’s very hard to find a good tailor these days so I am feel very happy to have found this place.

Thank you so much to Jodie! I came in the morning to get 2 skirts and tailored pants altered. I asked if I could get it done by the end of the day and she said she couldn’t which was fine so I just asked for the pants. Since I was working I went on my break to collect them and she was busy so she told me to come back later which was fine. Just went to collect my pants and she has finished all of the three pieces in the day! I’m so grateful thank you so much! And the length and finish is perfect!

Went in today (Saturday 13/05/23) to get a suit altered that I had just purchased from Myer. Stood in there for 10 minutes ringing the bell and no one came. Half a dozen would be customers came in at the same time and we all left and went elsewhere.

Business must be doing pretty well if they can ignore customers.

I got my trousers altered from here and they did a great job! The service was very quick and professional, and my trousers were ready for pickup in 5 days. The gentleman who served me was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely come back here for any alterations!

I had a fantastic experience at LookSmart Emporium. I was served by Hang who also tailored my pants. My pants looked great, and Hang's customer service was brilliant! She went out of her way to ensure that I was happy with the quality of the tailoring. I highly recommend this place! I will definitely be going back!

Oh My God! This place needs education. Please send all of your staffs at least for a year of course on needle and thread and how to alter. Too expensive and very very very very poor quality of work. I am so disappointed. They ruin my outfit? Please quit.

I had the waist of my jeans tightened for $45 and I am beyond happy with the result.

All the staff were so lovely and extremely professional. They also ensured that my jeans fit me perfectly before I left the store. The jeans looks like they were never altered at all! Definitely coming back.

My wife spend $300 for alternation, and they ruined my wife's $4000 Gucci Jacket. The shoulder hand stitches inside made the jacket looks worthless from the inside. Threads are loose, leaving small loops of the stitch threads. And shoulder fabric has not been tighten in leaving fabric folds around the shoulder at the back. The store manager acknowledged it and described the job as rubbish by her tailor. After discussion with the store manager, we agreed not to ask for compensation and accept a 80% refund for all the jobs done calculated by the store staff, and the store manager promised a refund by transfer. However, the store manager only transferred partial of the refund that she believes it's appropriate for the shoulder only without even notifying us, and she has not been returning phone calls, and we dropped in to the store 3 times, and she is always not there. Skill and creditability is none with this alternation.

Not great! I had a jumpsuit adjusted. I had to go back 4 times due to various reasons. And it still wasn’t fixed but i decided to take it somewhere else. Very dissapointing.

Never been so disappointed in service. Dropped a cocktail dress in to get altered and went back a week later the night before i was supposed to be wearing the dress and they still had not done anything about it.obviously couldn't wear the dress and was very upset

After a poor experience at the Looksmart located in Bourke St Myer, I phoned the Emporium location to have the problem rectified. I spoke with Agub who said he would work outside his schedule the next day to meet me and make sure the job was done properly. Chhorvy completed the job and it was perfect! Will be going directly to these guys in the future. Highly recommended.

Pretty disappointing. Had to go back three separate times to pick up a garment because they either hadn’t done it, or it was wrong. And then, during an event, another garment I had them take the hem up completely came undone. When I looked at the other hem, seems they used blue thread for a pink garment. Go someplace else.
