95We had a wonderful dinner at Longrain for our anniversary. Our waiter was really friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Our favourite was the pork belly.
Longrain continues to be amazing during COVID. The signature eggnet dish tasted as good at home delivered and put together as being at the restaurant. Absolutely addictive. If you want a tasty delicious treat for your senses, Longrain delivers everytime.
Just received my delivery from Providoor. Thought we’d order in for my birthday and not cook dinner. Paid $75 per pax for the banquet and the food all came raw, herbs not washed and vegetable not chopped. Wasn’t expected this at all. Would understand if I had to assemble and plate them. By going to the restaurant the banquet is $79 per pax. Food served to your table and the menu is even bigger than what we get from the delivery menu. And I can’t believe the rice came uncooked too! Also comes with 3 full pages of cooking instructions. Not worth what we paid for. Definitely feel cheated.
This place offers one of the most unique and exquisite Thai food I have seen in Melbourne. The Betel leaf appetizer was a refreshing way to start the menu. And the prawn curry and chicken curry was simply delicious. Generous serving size and an average drinks menu. Overall, it was a great experience.
I’ve had two very nice dinners here so far. Amazing food & wine selection, friendly service and cozy ambience. I’d recommend bookings tho as it gets very busy on a Friday and Saturday night.
Great service. Food was just overpriced thai food. Very tasty but somewhat underwhelming with very limited selection. Caters well to dietary requirements.
I'm little late in reviewing this place, however doing my part now. Me and my husband went for our anniversary dinner last year. I can't thank enough to the excellent hospitality, the food was delicious, delightful and very different. I loved every bite of my meal. Thumbs up to everyone at Longrain.
We ordered a Longrain vegan banquet plus a wagyu curry. Definitely the best of three Providor etake-aways we've tried. Delicious.
We had a great night here! Good food, good people, good drink. The Whequila was interesting, we'll be back!
Longrain's survival was a rare bit of good news after Covid appeared to have finished it off.
But it's changed - still very good, but service is rushed (we were fed and done in under an hour) and the choices seem more limited.
There were still some great dishes, and the cocktails and Betel Leaf starters are as good as ever, but this now has more the feel of a quick meal before the the theatre, or a big function.
Wonderful dining experience with friends. If you’re a fan on full-on Thai fusion with deadly cocktails and a bangin’ playlist, this is the place to be. Go the banquet, you won’t be disappointed. Keep up the great work guys!
It was such a delight to be back in the city and dine at my favourite Asian fusion restaurant. Due to overdue absence as the world has turned upside down, I underestimated how much I missed the experience of full robust flavours and great friendly service. Crisp Whole Fish Tamarind is my preferred dish every time. Thank you team!
Amazing food and service. The staff were VERY kind and accommodating with dietaries and had an excellent knowledge of their menu. We let them order for us and were pleasantly surprised with each dish. The food is generously sized and perfectly balanced. The cocktails are delicious!
Overall a good dining experience and very attentive staff. Ordered the banquet, the pork was delicious, perfectly crispy skin very tender meat and great flavours. Only negatives were the chicken skewers were very salty, and usually i add a lot of seasoning to my dishes. The crispy rice was also a bit over-seasoned as well, but still very tasty and was a shame that the oysters served were very small.
None of the above, resulted in a negative experience but with a few adjustments could be incredible. Portions were very generous and ended up taking home some left over curry with the restaurant providing additional rice at no extra cost which was a nice touch.
WOW! We had the 7 course menu and the food was amazing. Desert maybe isn’t their strong point though but the other courses were delicious. Service team were also excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this place and would eat here again.
Amazing experience! Great food quality, no doubt about it. Came into the restaurant for dinner. No booking, however the waiter gave us bar seating. Ordered 4 dishes: king fish, cauliflower, english lobster roll, and duck leg baos. Man, they are all good. I like their lobster roll the most and the cauliflower was so unique. Hands down for all these. I will come back again for more. For dessert, we ordered duck egg custard and these are awesome! Expect high pricing in exchange for the good quality.
Great food, hearty, tasty and spicy. A bit on the pricey side, but the food is great and small portions go a long way, packed densely and so much flavour
We loved our dinner! Didn’t have a reservation but the staff were great and squeezed found us a place at the bar. Great food and atmosphere.
We always try to dine here when we visit Melbourne. Very busy place, seated immediately, service very good albeit by a different waiter/waitress through out the meal. Oysters and betel leaf w scallop for appetizer delicious! Eggnet always a favourite, caramelized pork hock and sour orange hapuka curry. All dishes bursting with flavor. Longrain still our favourite, will return again. Highly recommend. No room for dessert unfortunately:)
Absolutely divine! The betel leaf with scallop was perfectly balanced and delicious! Every mouthful of the poached salmon with green papaya and Vietnamese mint was heavenly. My friend had the caramelized ham hock and was very impressed. We also shared the broccoli side and that was yummy too. Service was great and the food came out really quickly (restaurant wasn't full). I will definitely be back.
