Longrain Restaurant

Not as great as I had hoped. The food was average except for one dish, the caramelised wagyu which was exceptional, other than that the skewers was dry, tofu was meh.

Service was good, kept asking how was the food and if we needed anything else, additionally topped our water up.

The ambience is nice here, darker lighting, huge room, however, hoped they had more smaller tables for more intimate gatherings. We shared a large table sitting side by side which was a bit awkward.

Food was great, inventive and delicious but the experience was not good. The person who greeted/seated us did not speak he literally showed us to our table without opening his mouth to say a word not even hello. All the dishes we ordered came out about the same time with no break between courses so we felt rushed to eat them while they were hot without a chance to stop and chat between courses. After originally ordering we could not get hold of anyone to order more drinks and once we were ready to leave despite making this obvious it took about 15mins to be able to get someone’s attention to ask for the bill

Punchy zingy fresh flavours, braised meats in currys you can gently press with a spoon to cut it, lots of thai staff to add authenticity, a chicken skewer to die for but boring bathroom.

Came in for a nicer dinner. We sat at the bar.
Poor service, bartender gave us water, didn't take our drink order. She just walked away to polish glasses.
Couple next to us got served food even though they arrived like 10mins after us.

Oysters were good and Betal Prawn + Waygu Beef Rengdang.
Red Curry was very boring. No spice or flavour.

Had to wave down waiters 3 times thar evening. Waiters and bartenders were not attentive and not checking to see if everything was ok.
My beer glass was chipped, asked for replacement. Just was poured into a new glass that foamed the beer to the top.

Had to waved bartender down sitting there for 10mins trying to pay bill. No thank you from bartender just paid bill and we left.

Very disappointing, especially from a hospitality worker. I never had such terrible service.

Great food, fantastic atmosphere. The highlight was our waitress, her name was Shine. So friendly and helpful

Amazing service, helpful staff, allergies catered for - staff member even talked through the menu to explain what could be altered, lovely atmosphere and setting, and the food was just delicious!
Can’t recommend highly enough.

Have been too Longrain probably 50 times with clients and friends, but not for the last 4 due to living overseas. What used to be fantastic thai-fusion has become a sauce with a protein on top. Tried both the favorite pork belly and the beef "curry". Lazy and not at all interesting. The starters still ok. Sorry, but no 52nd time.

Amazing food and cocktails. Absolutely loved the service. We love thai food so much and Longrain was amazing I highly recommend. It’s a perfect place for a date night or with friends. Pre booking is essential.

We booked table for dinner yesterday. Amazing Hospitality + All the staffs were lovely. Place is amazing, Had a great time. Food 8/10.

Great service and exceptional food. Every dish is special and so delicious. Their desserts are a must try.

We had bookings for Christmas Eve and noticed that the service was slightly rushed but no less attentive. The cocktails were brilliant and made us resolve to come back and visit longsong. We ordered the Bangkok Bird, the Better Martini, the Gin Sin and the Yuzu Spritz and apart from the Bangkok Bird ordered another round of all the other cocktails we had - well done mixologist!

Everything in the menu looked brilliant and we ordered the Wagyu beef tartare which I thought was great but with all the spice lost the real flavour of the beef a little, paired with the crackers it was a real flavour explosion. The signature filled eggnet was superb and needs no mention. The salt and pepper silken tofu was a beautiful winner of a dish, soft crispy skin with silken wonderful tofu that slid down the palate easily. We also ordered the whole fried fish (snapper) and found that it was presented whole but was presented as individual spiced and fried fillets - I don't usually eat seafood but heartily tasted the oysters.

Overall we walked away satisfied and of course will be coming back for more. Note that the prices are on the high side but well worth it.

What’s wrong with Melbourne’s high-end Thai restaurants? Gosh, they’re all extremely overrated. We dined at Longrain today for a late luncheon. The restaurant was empty - now I know why. The flavours were bland and what I’d expect, if I was eating street food in Bangkok. When you’re paying $40 bucks for only x3 prawns - you should receive mouthwatering flavours that want you coming back for more. Alas, this will be the first and last time we dine at Longrain. Melbourne restaurants, it’s time to lift your game. The manager was crude, whilst the only positive takeaway, was the Columbian waiter - who was outstanding.

Wonderful flavours, atmosphere, and service accompanied by delicious wines and cocktails. Would highly recommend and will be back again.

An enjoyable experience. Food was delicious. The staff was very attentive and she took her time to explain the menu and the recommended dishes. We ordered the perfect amount of food and left just enough room desserts. Highlight for me was definitely the wagyu shin salad and the signature eggnet.

Great, intuative service from the floor staff- after seeing I wasnt eating a dish that was too rich for my taste- I was offered a refund on the dish and then a fabulous replacement dish (the filled eggnet) arrived which was a lighter but beautifully detailed dish. Thank you Natasha it was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant and the food was excellent.

This venue has been a favourite of mine for years. We had an event on Monday night, the team were so accommodating, cheerful, friendly and attentive. They handled our rowdy party with decorum and professionalism. Food, amazing. Winelist was approachable and concise. Can not recommend this venue more than I already do. Awesome job guys!

We booked our office Christmas party on a Saturday. Although the food was tasty there was far too little for my 20 guests. It was embarrassing it felt like I was the Christmas Grinch that spoilt our Christmas party. This was the 3rd time in 4 years that we booked Longrain but sadly it will be the last. How could they think they could get away this behaviour? We continued the night a a local fast food outlet so sad.

Excellent customer service! I made a booking for 15 people and the staff (Natasha), were very accommodating with the menu and seating. Easy to communicate with and of course, delicious food and ambience. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite restaurants. Food is amazing. Plenty of options on the menu. Never disappoints!
