The fresh apple juice is 10/10. Fresh ingredients used and excellent service. The toasted sandwich today was perfect. Thank you.

I ordered a slice of the pizza of the day. I can't remember its proper name but all I could tell you was that it was packed with mushrooms and a special kind of cheese (not your ubiquitous mozarrella).

Hands down THE best pizza I have had in my life. I would not call it decadent but it was incredibly hearty and in my view, that was what a slice of pizza should taste like. The first mouthful was garlic-ky, the mushrooms were full of umami and the gooey cheese base amalgamated all the ingredients so perfectly as though the entire slice of pizza was grown naturally. Oh and I have to talk about the pizza base, it was seemingly thick but surprisingly light and had the right amount of crunchiness to it.

I also ordered the orange almond cake and the pasta bolognese-everything tasted wonderful. The prices might be a tad bit high for what you'd get but the experience you'd get from dining here is simply unparalleled.

Stopped over here on a roadtrip for coffee and ice cream and it didn’t disappoint. Cool vibes with good music and a vast collection of records to see.

First visited this place about 15 years ago. It's still amazingly good. Check out the jazz collection.

It was $42 for 1 pot of tea, a low quality granola bowl and avocado toast with eggs. This place is far to expensive for what you get, I won't be going back it's just not worth it.

Delicious brunch - arrived at 1145 so got to eat pastries and coffee off the breakfast menu and steak sandwich off the lunch menu - yum!

Excellent long black ~ full flavoured & rich krema. Amazing cafe with 100s of cds & vinyl. Some definite collectables & mind-blowing finds. From ecm greats like Keith Jarrett to South African trumpet legend Hugh Masekela plus some contemporary & recent releases. A destination for music & coffee afficianados ~ not to be missed.

Always consistent. Food is all fresh, gourmet and made from scratch. Is French Mediterranean. Also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The coffee and home made cakes are gourmet. Everything is made on the premises it's fantastic. Table service, cosy and a changing food specials. Try it!

ABSOLUTE GEM IN CENTRAL BALLARAT
We went out hunting for breakfast early on a Sunday morning and found L'espresso open from 8 am:)
It's Italian themed and is very cozy inside (it was 6 degrees the early spring morning we ate there!) and would be equally delightful at the al fresco tables in the warmer weather. Menu is very expansive with great options for vegetarian and vegan customers. Coffee is about the best I've had outside my usual haunts in Melbourne! Staff were really bubbly and attentive.
People with mobility issues will be fine as its all on one level floor.

Delicious, reasonable priced food. I was so surprised by the menu options! Really interesting, different meals. The waitress (didn’t grab her name but she had short blonde hair) was so lovely, friendly and helpful. The service was exceptional.

Food is great and coffee is fantastic. Service isn't super friendly, sometimes it's downright cold. It's usually always busy so can be very noisy but they have comfy chairs and a massive selection of music to look at and listen to. I like going there for the Parmesan Scrambled Eggs

LOVED THE HASH BROWN! If u ever go here THIS is what u must have. Was a bit suprised at the price of the food but it was worth it because the proportion was meant for one person n not 3! Thank goodness. Got salad with every meal, and the food was as if my mum cooked. The rustic homey feel. And the decor.brilliant! Coffee was normal and hits the spot

I consider myself a regular, and I love the consistently great food and coffee. Their service is next level. The pricing on their afternoon menu (like the spaghetti) is spot on. Anywhere that you can get a meal of this quality and a coffee for ~$20 is worth returning to on a regular basis. The staff at L'espresso even made the effort to ask me my name, and they remember it!

L' espresso! My most favourite cafe in Ballarat. They make their Vittoria taste the way Vittoria coffee should. Its always great to get a traveller when Im visiting Ballarat, but even better to sit in and enjoy a choice from their menu. I recommend the garlic prawn pasta with a nice glass of house red. L'espresso is always busy which is a testament to the quality of food and service. The atmosphere is great, very easy to sit, eat and ponder for as long as you want. Brillant.

Love this place. And when I am in Ballarat I always drop in for a meal, or at least a coffee and cake. The sell CDs too.

They should promote this place on postcards! Best breakfast and coffee in Ballarat hands down! Wished I lived closer. A must go for anyone visiting the town. I will be back:)

This is a regular restaurant for us & is always a great meal. Sometimes the menu is limited - particularly on a Friday night which is the only night it is open. But the selection is usually very good and the meals themselves wonderful although our last visit wasn't the usual good show as they ran out of some of the meals on the menu & then accidentally tried to over charge us. During the day the menu is larger & we have always enjoyed the meals there. One down side is that on the Friday nights it is always busy (which is good for them) but the lighting is fairly poor for some. So make sure you book for a Friday night meal. Great place to have a few wines whilst watching the Australian cycling championship criterium in January as well.
