So glad Lee Ho Fook is back in full swing. It was and is one of our favorite places in the city. Chef/Owner Victor Liong has created an elevated and elegant dining experience and has increased our appreciation and love of Chinese food in many ways. Having a tasting menu in the dining room or sharing some food at the chef’s counter are both wonderful ways to enjoy this beautiful tucked away gem. Being recognized and appreciated when visiting and treated very warmly by the staff makes it extra special.

Always a great experience and the food quality is always consistent.

Ordered almost everything on the menu to share amongst ourselves and every dish was amazing. The food was prepared with finesse and packed with flavours.
We preferred & enjoyed the dishes in the Cold menu over the Hot menu. The King Salmon Sashimi is probably the best we’ve ever eaten, just melts in your mouth.

All the desserts were delicious (except the almond jelly to be honest) however we wish the portion sizes were better (too small)!

Wish the restaurant had better ground floor seating arrangements for groups that don’t choose to go with the banquet menu.

Will be sure to visit again:)

Lee Ho Fook served Chinese cuisine with a modern twist housed in a small yet cozy venue. For lunch we ordered the yum cha brunch which was a set menu consisted of dim sum, noodles, a rice dish and a dessert. We also ordered their famous crispy eggplant dish and white chocolate tarts in addition. For the dim sum, there were some spring rolls, pork/scallop siu mai, prawn/chive dumplings, and prawn crystal skin dumplings. The noodles were rice noodles mixed with enoki mushroom, and the rice was served with slow roasted duck leg. Dessert was almond jelly with pine nuts and oolong syrup sitting on top of the jelly. My favourite dish was the super crispy eggplant sticks which were very flavourful with a slight tangy flavour, and perhaps also the duck dish, with its tender duck leg and fragrant sauce. The almond jelly dessert was rather unique; the jelly had a slight pannacotta texture, and the pine nuts gave it a nice crunch. The other addition to the set menu, the white chocolate tart with its cheesecake filling was devoid of any white chocolate flavour — and it was also the size of my thumb. Overall the food here was average; small-portioned, but more importantly not innovative and lacked flavour complexities. Service-wise, it was pretty quick and efficient, and the staff members were friendly and polite.

Had dinner 16th July with family. Extremely good food - modernised Chinese with additional flavour twists, and brilliant wine pairing (we had the set banquet). Great and very friendly service. Would highly recommend.

$140 for the 5 course meal was really disappointing. Service was great, but there were long waits between each course. Each course was a disappointment, small quantity and average quality and taste. Would have expected the chef to put a bit more effort into the menu. Will not come back.

: Lee Ho Fook means ‘good fortune for your mouth’. The food served here is based on Chinese cuisine, but elevated to a whole new level. They currently have Yumcha Brunch on weekend lunch and Early Autumn Course Dinners available.

️: The Yumcha Brunch we had was delicious and filling. We started off with a selection of signature dimsum, including Steamed pork and scallop siu mai with smoked roe, Classic steamed prawn har gao, BBQ char siu wagyu beef puff, and Prawn toast, sweet and sour sauce—all of which were delicious.

The dishes that followed included the? Wok fried rice noodles, wagyu beef, enoki mushrooms and garlic chives (10/10 for this), Fujian style master stock braised meat plate with rice, and a sweet delight inspired by Hong Kong and the regions surround and of the season—? HK style milk tea ice cream with coffee jelly, crumble, and condensed milk cream.

Had a nice date night at Lee Ho Fook and some very nice food. Some of the flavours were very classic Cantonese, but there we also some surprises.

We went for the Eight Courses and felt very comfortable in the dining room, the music is definitely nice in that it outs you at ease and removes any awkwardness. How can you feel uncomfortable with Queen playing in the background? Staff were very nice too!

Faux shark fin soup was very nice and the portion leaves you wanting more. The spring roll was interesting as the Nori wrapped fish adds an additional element which I hadn't experienced before. I felt the dumpling course could have been more special as the filling was something that tastes very homemade.

The steamed Murray cod was one of the heroes of the menu as the fish was perfectly cooked along with a beautiful accompaniment of silken tofu, fermented chilli and black bean. This was absolutely delicious!

The odd dish was the roast duck with abalone. Although each element on the plate tasted nice in isolation, it was hard to understand how all of it related as it was brought together by beef tendon. It was at this point that I realised that we didn't have cutlery besides chopsticks and a spoon. This made it very hard to have little bites as chopsticks tend to be made for mouthfuls.

The claypot with grilled Blackmores Wagyu was very good and the sauce with the beef was reminiscent of a black pepper sauce from a Cantonese restaurant. The claypot rice had the desired crispy bits from the bottom of the claypot and the mushroom sauce made it very moreish.

The granita with coconut sorbet was refreshing and the sweets at the end rounded off a really pleasant evening.

Had my birthday dinner there. Staffs are very lovely and attentive. The food is amazing, a great balance of Cantonese food with western twist. We were very full by the end of the dinner. Highly recommend.

The 12 course set menu sure was nicely plated so I ate with my eyes first BUT my taste buds didn't follow through with a BANG or WOW factor. Good to okay food but underwhelming and overpriced for what it was. It was mainly elements I liked in the dishes not so much the dishes as a whole.

What was nice:) was the
• Fried bread with soft curds very tasty although it had a heavy hand of sprinkled salt flakes so some bites were unbearably salty
• The cumin lamb was nice. I've tasted these flavours before so nothing special but the "stretched out mashed potato" amazed me (texture was stretchy and chewy) and I wanted a bucket of it!
•Tea infused dessert ball had a cream or syrup with strong flavoured jasmine tea taste.

LOVED
• Pandan mocktail soda. So unique and sooo tasty. Slowly sipping it throughout the night so I could savour it:)
• Steamed fish and shaved calamari was beautiful and perfectly cooked. I had to lean back to take a moment! Only dish I truly loved.

Not so good: (
• The wagyu dish (main) was literally just Char kway teow noodles with weird tasting, off-putting wagyu slices. We wondered if it was even wagyu.

Rest of the dishes like entrees were meh.

I dined at Lee Ho Fook for lunch where they serve their 4 course set menu, with a couple of optional dishes extra.

Lee Ho Fook is an exciting dining experience. Being able to transform the flavours of traditional Chinese dishes into something completely modern and fine dining. Executed really well, flavours extremely well balanced.

The venue is warm, relaxed and filled with natural light.
Service was for the most part good. Not as attentive as I would have liked but friendly.

The only negative was the slow pace of service. It took about 3.5 hours to serve up the courses which is pretty considerable given there are only 4 courses (we did opt for one additional course making it 5).

Only one thing to fault about the food. The batter on the Peking beef (pictured) seemed unnecessary and did not add much to the overall dish.
Other than that - the food was incredible all round.

I will definitely be back to try their dinner set menu!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE
1. Tried the CNY menu was advertised as 12 courses yet only received 10 yet STILL PAID THE SAME PRICE (did not receive any notice about this until AFTER the meal was finished)

2. Water was dripping from the ceiling onto our heads! Gross

3. Accidentally left behind a bag with containers and red pockets with money. Called afterwards to inform them and spoke to an employee and was told they would leave the bag to allow us to pick it up. Come to pick it up and turns out they supposedly “threw” it away! UNTRUSTWORTHY and POOR customer service!

4. Food was average, not worth it for the price

EDIT
Per reply by the owner, 12 courses was served. I suggest he checks with his staff. When we asked the waitress of the night after the second last dessert was served, where is our last dessert, she said, “Sorry, this is the last course”. The last missing on that night was Mignardise and Fruits. The first original menu on your website had 11 dishes listed, yet on the night we were served 10. The menu on your website was then edited AFTER we visited to list 10 courses yet the information still lists it as 12 courses? I don’t understand how you can say you served 12 courses yet CLEARLY only served 10.

That evening, we were there at 6 but we finished slightly after 10.why? (remember we have a 2 year old with us) Reason - according to your staff, we are experiencing problems in your kitchen.please check with your staff before you deny.

Why didn’t we complain that evening? Because is is my family reunion dinner. We want it to be a happy one. No complaints so in the year of the Tiger, all will be good.

Yes, we agree with your reply that there is nothing you can do. But remember, good customer service is to inform customers of issues and apologise first.

I called and left a message with my number. No one returned my call. I called again the next day and remind your staff not to throw it away as there were two red packets with $100 each inside. I went twice but you are closed. Moreover, a restaurant of that size has no place to keep a small bag. Ridiculous! Even if this is true, you should at least give me a call first.

Lee Ho Fook was a fantastic dining and hospitality experience. Every aspect of the meal, service, and environment was delightful and welcoming. Unique and familiar dishes at the same time. It was a pleasure to visit and eat. Would recommend for any occasion, and in particular special ones.

High expectations were had of Lee Ho Fook. Unfortunately, this only lead to a jolting disappointment. We came to this restaurant for a late lunch, ordering the four course summer menu for $90pp as a vegetarian option. Perhaps this was our undoing. The first course were some pickled vegetables. They tasted authentic, but the portions were pitiful. The second course was a snowpea noodle salad. Once again, the portion sizes were that of an infant's entree - really quite sad. The third course was, and I kid you not, 3 deep fried rice crackers with some green soup drizzled on top. And I can tell you hand on heart, the green soup was the epitomy of "nothing special". The final course was a mango dessert, which was the saving grace for the lunch. Flavoursome, fruity, and refreshing! By the end of the lunch, I was left feeling hungry and robbed. My philosophy is "you get what you pay for. " Unfortunately, for this lunch it was Le Ho Fook that was paid whereas we got the feeling of pure dissatisfaction. 2/5.

Life changing meal! Every dish were perfect portions and the Asian fusion was absolutely perfect. They didn’t lose any authenticity and managed to accentuate flavours in a sophisticated and balanced meal! They were presented beautifully and everything was practical while looking visually.

Service was absolutely lovely and overall, an amazing place to go to! Major props to the two male waiters for making the meal more special with their pleasant service and great explanation of the dishes!

10/10 for any special occasion or just a treat yourself moment!

My personal favourite had to be the fried bread, personally I’ll never see bread and dips the same way ever again?

I believe they deserve to be in this area with the other top resturants in Melbourne. I've been to a few fine dining/degustation places but maybe not as many as others, so each to their own for price and taste, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself, the service, the staff the banter, the music, and just the general vibe of the place felt great to me. We went there pretty much straight after work so had the place to ourselves for a bit Def on my list for "go to" places to take friends/family when they are in Melbourne (P. S.not gonna post my photos as other have done a better job) FRIDAY 25/06/2021 @ 6pm

I've found this place by recommendation of our AirBnB host and it was amazing. Very unassuming location and entrance, but the food is great. Eggplant and duck are my favourite meals there, but pretty much anything is guaranteed to be of a high quality. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Melbourne
