Le Café Flo reviews
60 Been here twice and disappointed both times.
The bread and pastries are always stale.
Staff move super slowly, as if the whole cafe has been turned into slow motion.
Le cafe Flo is a hidden gem! The coffee is superb, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I love the cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend! "
9.5/10 on food quality
8/10 price vs quantity
10/10 on staff
Food is great, i cant mention a particular dish to try as theyre all so good. If you wake up with a sweet tooth i suggest you visit for breakfast for the crepes.
Price is fair, on the higher side vs quantity but reflects the quality.
Overall 9.5/10
I dont judge lightly.
It's been some time now since Flo sold this business.
It seemed to only open sporadically for a while and then seemed to be closed for a time, so I'm not sure if the current operators are the ones who bought it from Flo or it was sold on again. We had lunch there there today. The best description I can offer is 'disappointing. '
My wife asked for a weak latte, and despite the menu on the wall clearly saying a latte had 2 shots, she was assured a 'standard' latte was one shot and it would not be strong. The latte served was very stong and bitter. She asked for it to be remade, which it was, but when it was served we got a lecture about how we should have asked for it to be weak. She had done that. I asked for a hot chocolate extra hot and was served a cold Milo-quality milk drink. You would have needed to heat it up for it to be lukewarm.
For our meal we both had quiche. It took around a half an hour to arrive - and we were served before people who had ordered long before we did. Despite the wait the quiche was cold.
As I was paying I was asked how everything was and I responded that it was cold. I was told in a rude tone I should have said something. Perhaps we should have, but you really shouldn't need to tell someone to warm up a quiche. It was the rude tone that surprised me. We couldn't wait to get out of there and just paid.
School canteen quality service.
* EDIT: I cannot reply below but I want to acknowledge that the owner has offered to meet with us. However, if the owner is a tall man with a shaven head then he was there at the time standing right next to the person operating the cash register and said nothing in relation to my comments. *
Same as the other recent negative review. Ordered the quiche, it took too long and was cold.
I was due back from my lunch break, so I might get in serious trouble because of the delay. The worst bit is after I was waiting for over 10 minutes, I asked them can I please just take the quiche and go, they said it's been sitting there for several minutes. They seemed to make no attempt in bringing it to me or seeing if I was waiting. I was right there at the check out. They originally told me to go take a seat and they'd bring it to me when it's ready. Pretty poor service. The food itself was okay, a little undercooked and the portion is small in my opinion. (Cost $9.65 FYI) But the bad service is enough for me to suggest avoiding this place unless you're fairly particularly patient.
Had Croque Madam. The mustard used was seeded and not Dijon which was disappointing as its flavour was over powering. Good service great selection. I thought a French Cafe would use a French mustard though.
The service and staff are are very welcoming and put a smile on your face. Excellent coffee and food. Keep up the great work!
The food here is so so good, I can't believe it took me so long to try it! Loved my galette and the french onion soup was divine. Coffee also excellent. Can't wait to come back. The new staff member was also so lovely
Lovely little spot, super French which is clear via the taste of butter all over the plate. Still super yummi xx
Been here on Saturday, order the large cafe, waited for over 15mins and asked for the refund because I was in a rush, the waiter replied me “NO”
It's like you have been transported to a cafe in Paris. The food is excellent and only beaten by the lovely staff.
It's a nice, cute place with an extensive menu. The ambience is quaint and cosy, but the music is too loud. I went there on a Friday morning for brunch with a friend. I ordered the French onion soup. The soup itself was really delicious, but the bread inside the soup had a strange flavour. The bread on the side was nice to dip into the soup though. My friend ordered a galette and enjoyed it. The hot chocolate was ok, nothing to write home about.
Lovely staff, great food & coffee, but honestly that loud club music was so off putting I don’t think I’ll be back. Some nice chill French music would have been a lot nicer, was just so oddly out of context for a Monday afternoon cafe.
Below average food. The croissant and pain au chocolat were not crispy, felt like old pastries. The galette was too fried. This could be the reason why the chef do not fold the galette the usual way. Only eaten half of the steak baguette. As a Frenchman, it feels like the cafe is trying to rip off Aussies by selling bad food at a high price using the French reputation.
We experienced poor service today, we had to wait 20 minutes for one takeaway toasted Croissant. After being told it would only be a few minutes. When we got it, it came out really over cooked and soggy. The filling was nice though.
My favorite place to enjoy a galette. Their galettes were always heartly cooked and they offer a wide range of toppings to choose. Any hot and cold drinks with Chantilly cream were the best; a must to order. Prices match the food quality.
First time here and the owner was really rude to me when asked for recommendations, and because I took some time I was told abruptly he’s got other tables to wait insisting I hurry up and order, so it wasn’t a very pleasant first impression. Other than that the food was good. Hesitate to come back but heard there’ll be new management (thankfully) soon so I hope to not to be treated like that again if I do come back.
Fantastic food as always, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely worth sitting down if you have the time!
Wonderful food and coffee second to none.
Have been a regular for years and Florian and his workers make it a pleasure to eat there️
Owner is very nice to me good job. Gives me caramel sweet every time. Croissants are amazing! 10/10
