Been coming here for over three years. Always enjoyed the food. Perhaps 6 months since last lunch visit. Pretty disappointing experience over the Labour day weekend. I am thinking either new management or perhaps a new chef. Started with shared seafood entree. Two warmish Tasmanian oysters, two tiny scallops that tasted reheated to me, or not very fresh, or both. Bland fish scallops with some bland mayonnaise, over stewed mini octopus and two dryish prawns.

My main beef bourginonne was decent. Wife had the terrine as a main which had none of the freshness of prior vists, perhaps been in the fridge too long.

Waitress was very nice, guy out front seemed to not be having a happy day, surprising as we always found the staff really friendly. Probably won't go back given the standard for the prices charged.

It's great. Menu is hard to pick from as everything looks great. Make sure to check out the specials.

What started out as a treat based on our memories of the restaurant turned out to be disappointing, the food was OK but average. The waitress was annoyed when I asked her to wipe the table after waiting 20 mins for her to do so.
It was also ignored by the owner. The bill came to $270 so we expected a little attention but we were first in at 5.30 and two hours later got fed up and decided to have coffee at home. Sadly will not be going again.

Booked my bday dinner here. A bit touch and go thanks to the plandemic but they told us on the phone they were open and would call us if anything changed. We arranged babysitters and organised our first night out in nearly 2 years. Couple of cheeky pre drinks at the Heritage pub (5 stars awesome venue) and headed to this restaurant. It was closed.no phone call.no warning. Bad form. Won't be back

Two of us enjoyed a delicious three course lunch here today being a Saturday.
Lovely ambiance and great service.
Make sure you book so you won’t be disappointed as they get very busy.
I wouldn’t recommend it for children.

Fantastic classic French bistro. We enjoyed the beef bourguigon, steak bearnaise, confit duck, onion soup, escargot, steak tartare, lemon meringue tart, creme brulee and crepes Suzette. Everything was cooked beautifully and presented very well. We dined in February 2021, so this review is long overdue. Hope to be back soon.

Fantastic Bastille Day meal for my wife's birthday. Both of us loved our meals and the service was friendly. Will definitely come back.

Amazingly done in all aspects including atmosphere, service, food and wine. Steak was cooked to perfection with the bearnaise sauce paired brilliantly along with a bottle of pinot noir.

Very disappointed with duck confit. Very dry, salty and overcooked. We had strong recommendations for this restaurant from friends. When I mentioned my concern 're the duck I wa told that is the way duck confit is.

When you visit Le Bouchon you realise why French cuisine is the best in the world. Diners at Le Bouchon can submerge their taste buds in an amazing variety of delicate flavors. Entrees, mains and desert accompanied by an excellent selection of fine local & imported wine is a recipe for gourmet pleasure. Supporting the Le Bouchon experience is an excellent host, Stephane and his friendly staff who never fail to deliver fantastic service. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful restaurant.

Hidden gem! A must to try their homemade pate here - rich, delicious, and paired wonderfully with a pinot. Steak tantare was also a pleasant surprise - fresh and delicious meat with a simple and delicious mix of spice. Would definitely return for more.

Excellent or should I say magnifique! We came here for a family lunch with my folks who were visiting from Adelaide. We were a party of 7 with 4 adults and 3 children. The booking process was great - I phoned and was offered a table outside, which was later converted to an inside table when the restaurant rang to confirm my booking. Saturday lunch and the place was packed! We were welcomed and seated quickly. The place was full - which could mean slow service was to follow.but not here, the service was first class. We ordered a selection of entrees to start including pan seared scallops, foie gras, french onion soup and gravalax. All magnifique. For mains we enjoyed the duck leg confit and surely dishes don’t get much more typically French than Boeuf Bourguignon? The dish hails from the same region as coq au vin – that’s Burgundy in eastern France – and there are similarities between the two dishes. Boeuf Bourguignon is essentially a stew made from beef braised in red wine, beef broth, and seasoned vegetables including pearl onions and mushrooms. A beautiful mash was on the side to soak up the juices. Originally a peasant dish where traditionally, cheaper cuts of meat would be tenderized in wine for two days to intensify the flavors. Every August in Burgundy, the Fête du Charolais celebrates the dish, along with plenty of music and wine. I can assure you this is a must try dish at Le Bouchon the meat just falls apart. And my 9 year old son was happy also with his kids serve of steak and chips. Must try restaurant when visiting the Mornington Peninsula.

Great French place in Balnarring. Attentive service, reasonable price and so so delicious. Not far from the beach either, makes for a nice day trip to Balnarring, not very crowded.

Due to COVID just availed of their pick-up service (they do delivery too). Fish & Chips; Chicken with Tarragon sauce, Cream Brûlée, a baguette and a nice Pinot Gris for a little over $100.
I am genuinely struggling to offer any criticism.
VERY generous serves and beautifully cooked. The chicken came with specific re-heating advice and the fish was blue grenadier with best tartare sauce.
Recommended!
