La Cabra Hawthorn - Modern Mexican

Came in last week and had amazing tacos, margaritas and desserts. The music was also a bonus! Emma was super great squeezing us in the beer garden which was a great table for our first visit and made sure to let us know about the special nights so we will definitely be back soon. Highly recommend 10/10 food and service! Best Mexican in Melbourne.

Our waitress Emma was bubbly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

The calamari and fish tacos are my absolute favourite! Great friendly staff, and the margaritas are amazing! My go to for drinks in camby, the beer garden is so cool:)

To say we were disappointed with La Cabra would be an understatement. The blonde waitress with glasses was rude to our table throughout the entire evening, including throwing cutlery at our table after we politely asked for a knife to cut a birthday cake for the birthday we were celebrating, rolling her eyes when we asked for ice for the borderline boiling water we received and tried to kick us out an hour and half before their noted closure time so that she could leave work early as she was "over it". I was looking at booking La Cabra for my firms belated Christmas function for 25+ people but needless to say I nor my colleagues will be attending La Cabra in the future.

Additionally, before I receive the copy & pasted "this is not in line with our other customers experiences" you seem to so fondly enjoy replying to every negative comment with you may wish to re review your dozen bad reviews first.

We had a lovely experience! The place was busy so we had to wait a while for food, but the staff didn’t seem rushed or stressed at all. I always like going to a place where the staff seem happy to be at work. Food was delicious and well worth the wait. Will definitely be back.

We were celebrating a friend's birthday dinner. The food was good but the service by one of our waitresses with blonde hair and glasses was sour. She was rude, rushed and did not make us feel welcomed. They brought the wrong food to our table and when we told her repeatedly that none of us ordered it she stormed off, rolled her eyes and threw her hands in the air. The icing on the cake was when we asked for a small knife to cut a birthday cake, she grabbed all the knives and forks she could and basically threw it at us.
Won't be coming back here in a hurry.

Unprofessional staff and very rude. Food is disgusting and definitely not recommended. Their attitude lacks competence.

Lip smacking Mexican food! Although it looks small from outside, they have a huge seating capacity behind. Make sure to reserve a table, especially on weekends! And do try the fried cauliflower starter!

Five of us came to La Cabra in Camberwell for dinner. The restaurant itself was really nice and had a good atmosphere. Among the five of us, we ordered the chicken quesadillas, the lamb ribs and salad, the beef quesadillas, and the feed me chicken chipotle plate to share, as well as the brownie and churros for dessert. The portion sizes were generous, so we were very satisfied with the amount and quality of food provided. The food was really incredible and tasty; I must say it’s probably the best Mexican restaurant I have been to so far! Thanks so much La Cabra and I will definitely be back again:)

Every taco was mastered: Fresh, perfect size and full of flavour. We both really enjoyed the fish taco. We also ordered and would recommend the stuffed jalapenos! The staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was really relaxing and the drinks were delicious. Really worth the trip, thanks for a wonderful evening
