53Amazing food! Everything was absolutely delicious! The best part was the customer service, extremely friendly waiters and waitresses! Will come back 10/10
Would not come back ever.
Every time I am in South Melbourne, we grab a Gozleme. I've dined here a few times post CoVid time and has no fault on the food but the service is non-existent from waitress to floor management, it overstated to say they have the ability to comprehend what customer service is. How he (manager) got the job, I have no idea, but I guess that where you compare management from a $$$ restaurant vs $$.
Upon returning to the restaurant after 2 yrs reminds me why i didn't come back.
Along the strip of restaurant in South Melbourne markets are a rule where you cannot eat or even have food if it from different restaurant, even if this whole family spending hundreds eating at the same restaurant and ONE other person brings in one small food in (with no clear marketing advertisement showing off another restaurant) is not tolerated.
This policy I understand if the restaurant is busy but today happens to be a dead in south Melbourne day, there were only three other table other than ours, as I sat with my paella packaging looked just like the Gozlemes, the manager sent a Asian waitress to ask us to leave even though my husband had ordered coffees, a meal and Gozleme. We ended up scoffing down out coffees and left.
Honestly, if they hire better floor management staff that has a business background with any scope of good customer service, they would have been flexible given the place was empty. They can go ahead and tell me their normal policy of " no outside food to be consumed" but given it's quiet, they'd be okay with it just for today, that could have resulted in a positive outcome and returning business.
You've lost a customer and I will certainly tell everyone in my circle.
Had the breakfast menu for 2 on a mother's day and it was pretty bad as the meat and the Turkish spring rolls were really salty and when I say salty it's salty not edible, overall it was a healthy breakfast.
Breakfast here is amazing, I always go there to have menemen and gozleme. Good spot for breakfast on weekends but it can be very busy and overcrowded. Good service as well! Must try when visit south Melbourne market
Food was good. It's the little things that count.
Had to keep asking for things ie sugar salt pepper.
Better to just leave them on the table.
My favourite brunch place.
A good variety of choices.
Friendly and polite and usually quick service.
Love their sucuklu yumurta.
Had their takeaway borek on Saturday morning, the best thing I've had in 2020.would love to go again!
Total disregard for COVID19 - DO NOT EAT HERE
Only one waitress wore a mask, when management was asked why the rest were not, including the owner himself the excuses came thick and fast.
A. It’s because we are serving outside, when it was pointed out the chef, the two other wait staff and himself are inside I got the next excuse.
B. Oh the regulations changed. No they haven’t, Victoria has had a mask wearing requirement for many months and this hasn’t changed for restaurants. So I pointed out there were regular announcements made by the market management that EVERYONE is required to wear a mask, then the next excuse.
C. Oh we aren’t part of the market, despite operating under the roof of South Melbourne market.
Total disregard for the health regulations, not impressed. I should also add when the young waitress was asked why she wasn’t wearing a mask the excuse was ‘it’s my first day’, then ‘I have a heart condition and I’ll die if I wear a mask’
The staff also made no attempt to shoo out the pigeons that kept wandering through the restaurant.
Walked past this place on a lunch break, looking for smashed avo on toast. Turned out to be the best avo on toast I've had in Melbourne, and I've had a LOT. This will be a regular lunch place for me.
Staff was great as wellgood job guys
We came here for brunch, so delicious. Lovely service and amazing food. We got all of the share plates, they were all 10/10
Wonderful Turkish food at South Melbourne Market. The gozlemes from the outside area are great for takeaway and breakfast whilst the main meals from inside are equally tasty. The Turkish coffee is well presented and comes with a piece of Turkish delight.
Very bad gozleme barely any meat inside mostly empty, they get away with it because western people don’t know the real gozeleme. Staff is also rude, I heard the old ladies make fun of customers in Turkish language, they didn’t know I understand Turkish.
Great variety of vegetarian and gluten free authentic Turkish food. Recommended if you are in the area.
Amazing Turkish food in South Melbourne. Reasonable price and staff are nice as well. Food were really yummy
Bit on a rock which was inside the meat gozleme and chipped my tooth, got offered a refund of 10 dollars.
Beware when eating here.
Great Turkish breakfast and friendly staff.it gets busy on weekends.the Gozleme is delicious and the rose jam is yum.try it and you will love it
Food here was sensational. The saganaki was perfectly crispy, meats had a great texture and flavour to it. Was a little on expensive side, but the food and staff were still good.
My first time trying Turkish Gozleme and loving it. The ambience was outstanding as I was there during the crowded lunch period. I was pleasantly pleased with the staff serving us as he made us felt immediately welcome despite their bustling period. The coffee was enriching and depth in flavour. Worth the try.
Tasty dishes, good decor, helpful waiters. Very busy outside but that's expected from a market on a weekend.
Food over priced and ingredients didn’t taste fresh! Turkish food is one of my favorite cuisines and I had better in Melbourne.
