Köy Restaurant reviews
53Very yummy Turkish flatbread. They have a few options. Dough very fresh along with the ingredients. Got the minced meat. Recommend squeezing on the lemon juice and Chili flakes.
Restaurant is closed. But only Gozleme place next to Clement Cafe. Gozleme is best in the town. You need to wait but it worths. Only takeaway. Halal and Turkish food.
Heard the workers talking inappropriately about customers in their own language. Absolutely terrible service and an unnecessary push for customers to pay cash.
The shop has moved further down the road and now one of the shops facing the street.
The food is still the same, tasty gozleme. It’s a no fuss kinda store, order, get ya food, leave eat on the streets and enjoy. 8/10
Main issue is the service is right off. Double charged, and trying to explain that I had been double charged fell on a deaf ear.
Gozleme is incredibly tasty and they served yogurt on the side. Definitely recommend as they’re my favourite gozleme place!
Rude behaviour, hopeless customer service looks like I was getting free food from them. Will won’t visit there.
Koy restaurant
Outer shop in south Melbourne market.
Many, many people lined up, and the auntie selling cakes was very enthusiastic. When we got to the line, there were no beef, chicken, etc.
Only the vegetarian ones are left, (mushroom&veg, cheese & spinach) I ordered mushrooms, but there are not many mushrooms, and the cakes are freshly made, really crispy, especially crispy. Scent of scallion pancakes.
However, the general overall taste is the taste of Chinese scallion pancakes/snack pancakes.
Price $13, plus drink 15.
I don't think it's worth the long wait. But if you have nothing to do, go ahead.
This is a cozy snacking place. Not that spacious one. It has sitting arrangement outside. Located just at South Melbourne market.
We had Herbed Chicken. It was served hot and quite tasty. Quantity of stuffed chicken was good and juicy.
I felt that if they could allot few more chairs then people could enjoy having food there as well. Otherwise, everything is good. Can give it a try. Price was quite reasonable.
It’s THE best Gozleme. A great lunch option at Queen Vic Markets at $14.
These ladies power through, serving hundreds. I wouldn’t say they’re rude; abrupt, busy and efficient. For goodness sake know what you’re ordering and be ready with your tap and go. Or you’ll know!
Also, you want the Spinach & Cheese.
If you want to see what abysmal customer service is, go to the Koy stall at South Melbourne markets.
We have been here 4 times hoping to see in a change in the acidic treatment of customers by the 3 women that prep and cook the pastries. The women are somehow always bad tempered and bitter, by some fault in their personal lives and make a point to let you know that you are inconveniencing them for attending their stall to purchase their gozleme.
Regarding the gozleme, you’re better off just buying bread. There is what appears, an accidental dash of fillings that you need to forage through layers of pastry to find.
$12 for pastries with the remotest fillings and encountering deeply bitter and resentful customer service is just not going to cut it for us anymore. We tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt but they have insisted to maintain their approach to customers.
Good luck to the three of you, but we will be spending our money elsewhere from now on.
Tasty cheese and spinach gozleme. Good prices. Fast service, didn't have to line up for too long at the Sunday market.
By far the BEST GOZLEME in existence! Literally no where else compares. This is the benchmark!
I use to live around the corner, then moved to Sydney for few years, I would always come for a gozleme on any return! I’ve moved back and live in Brunswick, but still travel for my fav!
The gozlemes are okay (not exceptional at all, and not bad either). The service however is consistently hostile. Absolutely miserable ladies serving, who seem to go out of their way to be rude and confrontational. Observed it many many times. Prahran market gozlemes are better.
Very rude lady, we asked for an extra spoon of yoghurt and she said "why" and ignored us. Never going there again
I vow to never return back to this place after ordering a gozleme from the stand. I accidentally ordered a gozleme to eat in so I asked politely if they can make it take away. All they had to do was slide the gozleme into a take away box. However the lady serving yelled at me in front of other customers, going completely beserk whilst I apologised profusely. She went as far as asking the customer next to me to take my gozleme as she goes out of her way make a new one so I can take it away when all she needed to do was put it in a container. I believe these workers intentionally make customers feel uncomfortable based on the below reviews. Very bizarre and inappropriate, zero stars.
One of my ‘must eat’ places whenever I’m in the area. No complaints about the gozleme, always consistently good. However, one of the ladies today was extremely rude. Zero customer service whatsoever. She looked unhappy and made us feel like she was doing us a favour while serving us. I was with a friend from overseas who took a picture of their menu/ signboard and the lady went absolutely berserk. My friend apologised profusely and even deleted the photo (I have to mention the picture was of the signboard, not of her). The service staff continued ranting. I understand if photo-taking is not allowed but there were no signs on display. South Melbourne market is frequented by many tourists and if vendors have a problem with pictures being taken, I suggest putting up signs. Also, if that particular staff has issues serving customers or being in a public area where photos are constantly being taken, she might want to consider working in the kitchen away from any customer interaction. She ruined our entire day
I was taking photo at the shop and the women who works there, she said “that’s not nice” but what do you mean not nice!? People are taking photo every where and you can’t avoid it. I can see the same women in the photo which someone took and posted here already. I wasn’t taking photo of you, and if you are not happy with it, you should NOT work here or you should notice that not allowed to take a photo. Her attitude wasn’t nice for me thank you!
Absolutely delicious turkish food with highly attentive service and polite staff. Definitely it's a must go to visit. The management were fantastic. If I could I'd give 10 stars. I would 100% recommend this place.
I was not impressed with the service. I had to request for plates and cutlery after the food was served. We ordered the ottoman breakfast. The ottoman breakfast for 2 people was small serving and rather pricey and did not seem fresh. Not value for money.
