Kingston Funerals looked after my beloved parents twice, after my father died six months to the day of my mother’s passing.

They, particularly Renata, provided prompt information and care ensuring that what was required of us, at a fragile time, was handled with utmost respect. We were kept informed at all times of processes and any enquiries were answered quickly. I have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Sadly this is the second time our family has had to use Kingston Funerals. Both experiences were easy, efficient and handled with kindness. I couldn't recommend Kingston Funerals more highly and thank them for the wonderful job sending off our loved ones.

I was very impressed with the compassionate service we received from the team at Kingston funerals. Brendan was always available to answer any questions we had regarding the process. Also made recommendations where necessary. Their subtle, caring, respectful attitude is to be admired. They are truly a professional team who have everyone's interests at heart.

Brendan and the team at Kingston Funerals were just perfect (for both Mum and Dad's funerals). Kingston listened to exactly what we wanted and delivered it for us.

Really pleased with the expedient and smooth service. I regard the larger and affiliated funeral directors as colluding on prices an gouging people who are vulnerable. I enjoyed opting for a smaller business.

The zoom of my mothers’s funeral was poor. Just one static camera showing her coffin, the priest and a totally empty church. Even the most basically trained videographer could have arranged an overview so that I could see who was there without doing any invasive close ups. As the camera was stopped when my relatives went to stand by the coffin I did not even get to see the coffin leave the church. Overall a most unsatisfactory coverage of a very important event.

This is the fourth time our family has used Kingston Funerals & as usual their professional service & delivery of what they promised can not be faulted.

Dear Brendan.thank you for helping me at a very difficult time to organise and make decisions. A huge thank you to the celebrant, Sandra Kinsella, you gathered the threads of Mum's story and wove them together to send her off with love and gratitude for her life. You helped me put into words my memories and love for her. Your kindness and care will be remembered.thank you. The service was as mum would have wanted and helped us all start to grieve loss of her from our lives.

I have to say that Kingston Funerals far exceeded all expectations for Dads Funeral.
The entire process was smooth and unhurried. Lea was particularly considerate and gentle with my Mum.
Last minute changes were managed efficiently.
We cried but we laughed as well. Dad would have loved his send off and I would highly recommend Kingston Funerals to anyone.

I can’t speak more highly of our family experiences with Kingston Funerals. Recently we sadly had to arrange for the cremation of our 97 year old beloved aunt. All the necessary requirements were dealt with in a compassionate and supportive manner. Given the coronavirus situation, we decided to wait and hold a Celebration of Life ceremony at a later date, when all family members and friends could attend. Bob and his staff are willing to help us facilitate this wish when it is possible. Very reassuring.
Some years ago, a friend was very pleased with Kingston Funerals arranging of her mother’s funeral - everything was seamless and non intrusive, staff sat and listened and all was exactly what the family wanted, including enabling guests to follow the hearse a short distance along the road from the church, as her mother was piped way by Scottish bagpipes
Accordingly, five years ago, we also used Kinston Funerals for our mum. They gave her a wonderful farewell and we were very happy with the cost. The representatives they sent to talk us through the process were very professional and empathetic. They gave us plenty of options so that we were able to fine tune the service to what we wanted for our mum. They also arranged to hold the service at a chapel on the other side of town to meet our request. The celebrant did a fantastic job and everything met our expectations.
In addition, I have now referred several friends to Kingston Funerals. One was for the funeral of a very close childhood friend of 61 years. The family were more than happy with my recommendation and I was too.
Another has said they first went to another company and were not happy with their initial dealings with them. Kingston Funerals willingly met their request to only deal with female staff, who the family found extremely compassionate. It felt like being held by the hand through something they had never done before. All ran very smoothly, a lovely send off for their mum.

My hope is that other families do not have to experience what my family did. Especially in these current challenging Covid restrictive times. Every mistake is an opportunity to learn and I hope that Kingston pay more attention to the care of their clients during such a tender time of grief.
I have given one star for opening the door for service, for the rest of what I share about our experience was unprofessional and more likened to the 'Faulty Towers' of funeral services.

Sadly, my Grandfather passed due Covid-19 in a local nursing home in early September. The service seemingly started okay but unbeknowns to the 10 people able to attend the service, was that the virtual link for loved ones watching was not working. It was 20 minutes into the service that my cousin finally checked the relentless vibrating phone in his pocket to realise that it wasn't working. He proceeded to film on his phone, as noone at Kingston stopped the service or notified anyone to the issue at any point.
Alongside the music not working with the first photo tribute or the fact that people watching couldn't actually see the photo tribute at all, doors opening and closing with people talking/whispering in the video stream and the constant sound of traffic due to the door to Warrigal Rd left open, the funeral director got up at the end of the service to apologise for the virtual links not working properly. That's right, links, plural, they sent out a second link which was recording sideways! As she announced to the people at the service for the first time about these video mishaps, she proceeded to laugh it off with the comment, "And that's why it's in the disclaimer". Who says that? ! I had to walk out. At this point I left the building in disgrace of such behaviour and frustrasted disapppointment for all the loved ones unable to be present at my Grandfather's funeral and now their connection to service was allowed to be broken. Why they did not stop the service, rectify the problem and start again baffles me. The gentleman who was responsible for doing the music and audio tottles out the building, turning to me saying, "I don't even do this job, I just install the stuff. The guys who usually do it couldn't be here, so they called me! " I had nothing to say, still in shock that this was the level of care given to a person's funeral. As parts of the funeral were not even recorded, my Uncle and the celebrant have had to record these parts again since for the final tribute.

I understand that things can always go wrong but it doesn't cost money to be kind and apologise for wrongdoings. So the fact that my Grandma did not even receive a phone call after such unprofessional conduct and disrespect, just absolutely appauls me.

In light of a very satisfied experience with Kingston Funerals a few years ago, we contacted them again following the death of another beloved relative. Realising the complexities associated with COVID restrictions, we decided on a different format and again have been most impressed with the professionalism, empathy and creativity of the company. We are able to have a respectful and fitting tribute for someone we love so much.

I owe these wonderful people a huge debt of gratitude. In an extremely difficult circumstance that was only multiplied by Covid 19 restrictions the team at Kingston funerals helped me and my partner through a hugely difficult time. I am so glad we chose them. They basically did all the work and guided us through every step. Thank you.

I wish there were more stars to reflect how truly amazing Kingston have been during a very difficult time. The care starts from the initial phone call. Nothing was too much trouble and We can’t thank them enough for making something difficult a lot less difficult. Sincere thanks to the incredible team at Kingston
