I had Iga Goreng Kremes and Sambal Terasi + Sambal Matah. The beef ribs was very tender! Highly recommended.

Came here again.had the gado-gado (probably the best for Indonesian Restaurant in Melbourne) and Bebek Goreng was amazing.

Amazing food! Great value for money. Flavours and presentation are spot on.
Servings are very generous. Easily the best Indonesian restaurant in Melbourne. Indoor seating is limited but there are some nice outdoor tables.

We unanimously voted this as the best Indonesian restaurant in Melbourne! Great food: we LOVED the Iga Bakar and Nasi Campur Bali especially. The Ayam Goreng was surprisingly better than the one we had from another Indonesian restaurant. And it’s surprisingly inexpensive too! Will come again!

We came back several times after our first experience at Kenangan and they never failed us. Their dine in menu is superb, our favourite is Gado gado, all the stirfy (mie goreng / nasi goreng) and the Ayam bakar. My wife loves the green chili sauce and I love their raw sambal. Keep up the great work

Authentic and Tasty Indonesian Food in Melbourne CBD.

Amazing superb Indonesian food, especially the Jimbaran grill chicken + sambal matah took me back to Bali! Easy to find a carpark as well nearby the restaurant. Some meals are child friendly like their mie goreng and soto ayam, my 19 months old love them so much. The sambals are amazing, my favourite is their unique sambal goreng, something different compared to others Indonesian restaurant. My other favourite is their grilled ribs + sambal terasi. The serving size is generous, and I can eat one serving for two meals. The staffs are also so friendly and kind! Definitely will come back for another meal!

WHAT AN UNEXPECTED TASTE OF INDONESIAN CUISINE. I really like the ayam goreng with samebel terasi, the sambel is really spicy, and the chicken itself tastes so juicy and tender. Awesome. Great location in city, keep it up:)

Looking for Indonesian authentic dishes? Try this place and will not disappoint. Their Iga Bakar is recommended, big chunk of beef ribs, can't finish them on my own. A must try.

Food is good but service was surprisingly bad, told my friends about this amazing place and brought them over to order take away, it took them 30 mins to prepare, waiter forgot to call out our names and left the food behind the counter instead of pick up area.

When we finally got the food it was all cold and we also found out they forgot the sambal after we were home.
Given that I spoke so highly of Kenangan i was externally disappointed.

Had a nice dinner here. We had Bebek Goreng, Iga Bakar & Sate Plecing. The portion of everything was satisfying, we had a major food coma afterwards. Good service, reasonable price. We’d be happy to come back:)

Their nasi goreng is really good! It is very tasty and feels like eating it in Indonesia. Must try!

First time trying Indonesian food in Melbourne. Staff are friendly. For the dish itself, the portion is generous and the price is really reasonable. The sambal sauce really brings out the flavour in the meat. However the meat is too dry for my liking. Will come back to try out other dishes.

We started with Terong Balado, stir fried eggplants, with balado chilli paste. The eggplants were incredible soft, juicy and with that chilli paste, it brought out even more flavours from this simple yet tasty appetiser.
Next we had, Ayam Goreng Kenangan as our main, that’s served with 1/4th Fried Chicken with crunchy flakes, steam rice, your choice of sambal sauce, and salad. What to say about that fried chicken, that’s so mindblowingly crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside, so balanced. Their house made sambal sauce is fiery yet with full of flavours. This filling dish is definitely a must try.
Also we had, Iga Bakar Kecap as our second main, that’s served with grilled beef ribs, steak rice, salad and your choice of sambal sauce. This dish is a sweeter and a flavoursome one, the grilled beef ribs melted inside my mouth right from the very first bite. The sweetness of the meat with the house made chilli sambal sauce perfectly balanced out the taste of this dish. I would strongly recommend this dish.
For dessert, we had Pisang Bolen Cokelat Keju, which is a banana pastry with chocolate. The best part about this dessert is that the sweetness comes from the banana the moment you bit into this pastry balancing out the chocolatey taste of this pastry. Truly delicious in one word I would say!
Moreover, the prices of their menu are absolutely pocket friendly and the service is super prompt and friendly.

So why not head to this pop up restaurant @kenangan.au at Queen Victoria Market to have a mouthwatering and incredibly yum, classic Indonesian feast.

Discovered this place as I was walking by queen Vic in the evening.
Looked like it was a cute little pop up.
The staff were very attentive and welcoming.
Ordered the - sate plecing, Soto ayam, mie goreng Lena ham and a coconut water.
Enjoyed everything except for the Soto ayam. It was very bland and nothing like the Soto ayam I’ve had so many times on holidays in Bali.
The mie goreng was very good.
Overall I’d recommend this place, other that the soto ayam - the food has flavour, was reasonably priced and decent portions.

I saw the add on Facebook couple of months ago. Finally managed to go there before the lockdown. I’ve ordered the Fried Chicken with rice and Chilli for myself. The chilli was delicious! The fried rice it’s pretty tasty too. Very good size for the meals. Staffs are very helpful and friendly! Definitely would love the come back

One of the best Indonesian cuisine near where I live. I’ve tried the Iga Bakar Kremes, Nasi Goreng, Sate Ayam and Gado Gado, they all live up to expectation. Authentic taste, very delicious Indonesian dishes serve in generous portions and all are reasonably priced.

Both take aways and dine in offer satisfactory experience. I especially love the dine in experience. Staffs are friendly, venue is tastefully decorated and food is nicely presented. Hope Kenangan will become a permanent fixture on Elizabeth St. What a gem!

Very friendly, polite and also helpful staffs. It was my first time dining there and I ordered fried chicken with jasmin rice and sambal. I couldn't agree more that the chicken was really crispy! And you can literally smell the spice that marinated the chicken. Would be there again for sure!
