Kaniva Midway Motel

Absolute marvel. Nice stop when you travel trough. Little wildlife sanctuary next door, cool playground, walk through wetlands and awesome pub with a twist next door.
The manager was so friendly and helpful, a delight.

We needed a last minute stop on our journey across from Melbourne to Adelaide and Chris couldn't have been more helpful. The room was warm, beautiful and very quiet. Absolutely would stay there again.

Chris was ever so helpful in arranging the accommodation. She gave us a family room and made sure the heater was on to give us a toasty room on our arrival at midnight with three kids. The room had a good layout with a queen bed and three singles separated by a wall. The beds were comfy and rooms spacious. Good mid way point on your drive from Adelaide to Melbourne. Motel is very close to a wonderful free fauna park and new playground. Thanks to Chris and a shout out for putting aside the clothes we left behind!

Rooms are basic, but super clean and the manager is amazing. Goes above and beyond to give you the best experience. PS ask for the omelette

Friendly, helpful staff and a great comfortable room. Kaniva is a beautiful little town! Check out the painted sheep and flora and fauna park near the wetlands. Awesome.

Very clean and neat budget accommodation. Included a microwave, toaster and jug which was great. Very welcoming! Owner had great local knowledge.

For a budget motel it was great. The lady owner even upgraded our room. She was extremely nice.

This place is a scam. I noticed other people mentioned in their reviews they had been charged twice and went through hell to get money back. I have experience same, check photos evidence. The reception woman pretend she has cancer then next thing she won't give you receipt for you payment then charge you again. Read all 1 stars reviews. Please report this place if you experience similar things

Location for travel from Melbourne to Adelaide was perfect and the hotel staff were so lovely. The layout of the room is great and I loved that the kids beds and the double bed were separated by a wall but the carpet was stained and the toilet seat was broken. The room really needs a make over. A lot of truck noise which is to be expected on the main highway. You can't drink the tap water but plenty of bottled water was supplied.

Travelling back to Adelaide on motorbikes and stayed here as other accommodation in area booked out. It's rate 3 Star for a reason, and may people might bag it, but it was reasonably clean, considering it's age, and it was dry. Worst was the traffic noise - being on main route from Adelaide to Melbourne and situated at a roundabout we had the trucks constantly through the night gearing down and/or up, so sleep disturbed - (owever, grateful for our faithful transport company drivers). Owners nice and helpful, but you get what you pay for.

Great location, good price, very clean, and beds so comfortable. Had everything needed in the room. Good parking. Most of all, big thanks to Chris at the desk for your wonderful friendly service and care. You made sure everything was ok, so kind and helpful. Will be back. Thankyou.

Horrible, filthy, tiny and noisy rooms. We booked in advance, but after arriving we paid and went to the room after a long drive. But they had given us a room with one less bed than we had booked (we booked a family room for us and our two kids). We were offered another room if we were happy to wait for it to be cleaned as it hadn’t been used in awhile. When we inspected The room it was filthy (dead flies on the beds was just the start). With two ratty kids in the car after a long road trip we decided to try elsewhere instead knowing that we had to drive on to Bordertown. We asked for a refund and were advised that they couldn’t refund to our card, so we should leave our bank account details instead (which jhad me concerned). We left our details and have been chasing them for over two weeks trying to obtain a refund. We’ve now opened a dispute with our CC company. Never again!

The five stars i rated are for Cris, she is an amazing person, I have stayed in a lot of hotels/ Motels and have never been treated as good as Cris treated me, I am a solo traveller and wheelchair reliant, not ideal place for someone in my situation but Cris made sure if I needed any help or required anything that I could rely on her to help me, so because of this, even though the room was expensive for what it is, It was clean and had what I needed for my stay so I will definitely be back

The staff here went above and beyond to make sure I had a comfortable stay with everything I needed. I was caught in a covid border mix up and what could’ve been an extremely disappointing situation was saved by Chris and Maddison at Midway. The most caring and supportive hotel staff I’ve ever met.

After our car broke down at 1am, we were expecting to have to stay on the side of the road until morning. Instead, Chris went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfy bed, a shower, and some food for the night and turned a horrible start to our road trip into a lovely experience. The kindness and hospitality that everyone showed has even got us looking into Kaniva real estate! Everything truly happens for a reason!

Only a pit stop for 1 night but a great place to use if travelling between Melbourne and Adelaide or going on the silo art trail.
Friendly welcome, Comfortable beds with cosy warm electric blankets, good water pressure. Room well set out with easy self catering for breakfast (kettle/toaster/m'wave)
We walked across the road to the Commercial pub for a great dinner.
Yes it is on the main highway, yes you will hear the trucks but as a light sleeper myself, i found i still got a great sleep.
