Kallista Tea Rooms reviews
70Just had the best scones.nice and light with perfect moisture and the right amount of crumble. I want the recipe
Great food, ok service. We oldered five dishes n Dev scones (around ~$100). Love every dish we oldered, especially the cauliflour, homebaked bean, and vege stack. Need to improve on customer service. I can tell the lady who served us tried her best to be polite by only talk to me. Welcoming customer service will push ur business to the next level.
This place is lovely. Heaps of options for vegans on the menu. Feels like a dining room full of older people which us warming and friendly. The outside area is nice if you can get a table. Kids are careered for with toys and an art room
The tea and coffee is amazing.
Very nice cafe in the Dandenong hills. Cockatoo's frequent also.
Food and drink are of good quality and quantity. Friendly staff. Recommended.
Amazing experience!
It has books and toys for kids, big tables, beautiful flowers, a lot of space and the dishes taste very good.
In the photo you can see a delicious cauliflower creme with cheese.
Great place to take vegan and paleo friends. Iconic building with that wonderful curved window and ancient oak tree. Really good food and great coffee
One of my absolute favourite places to go for food in the hills!
Service is always outstanding, food is always spot on, and there is a place for the kids to play. Ticks all the boxes.
Love LOVE Kallista Tea Rooms!
Delicious Devonshire teas - crumbly light scones with great home made jams - try the Mixed Berries jam for a change from traditional Strawberry Jam. The accompanying cream is to die for!
Fairly price and open everyday - if your up in Dandenong Ranges make sure you drop by for their Devonshire tea - they do have a large menu selections with cakes and breakfast items as well along with coffee and wines.
Among the various scones cafe up at Dandenong - I am off the opinion that Kallista Tea Rooms is one of the best - better than the other more known/famous Devonshire tea offerings in Dandenong ranges.
Make sure you don't miss this when your up and about at Dandenong Ranges.
Food = Quiche was flavoursome and heated through properly however, they were very heavy handed with the dressing on the accompanying salad. Not good. Ample serve of jam and cream with the scones (many places are stingy). Good.
Service = Depends. One young woman was garrulous and attentive but an older woman (manager?) forgot our tea (which we need to have with scones!). The result was our scones were either cold or finished. She simply said "Sorry! " and walked off. Poor. When we went to pay we were behind two men who wanted to split a bill for a table of 10! We waited behind them for 6 minutes while the older woman (again) tried to work out who had what etc. People started waiting behind us either to pay or for service. How ridiculous! Finally, the same younger woman took us aside and processed our payment (interrupting the older woman who still had no idea.even with a calculator).
Hint: Do not split bills. If individuals don't have the correct amount, that's their problem (they should work it out amongst themselves LATER). It should not be the cafe's not other customer's problem! Be aware of other people who are waiting. Never ignore them. Three stars only due to the younger waitress.otherwise it would have only been two.
