I was only in for a day surgery procedure, but found the staff to be very professional and the facility 1st rate.

Angles and Saints do exists.

I went through my first surgery experience in John Fawkner hospital and people who works in this hospital not humans.they are actually angles and saints.

From the moment I walked into the hospital, admission, preparation, surgery, recovery and ward experience was truly heavenly.

Ward rooms are very clean, modern and I had a comfortable stay.

Thanks for taking such good care of my and my humble thanks and appreciation to all the staff, nurses and doctors.

Thanks again.

Every staff member from reception, to the nurses, theatre staff, the lovely lady that came to clean and sanitise my room and bring me my meals were so amazing and helpful. I loved talking to all the people I met in my short time in hospital after surgery. You are truly blessed and it's so obvious that you all love what you do! Could not have been happier with the whole experience. There really is a positive in every situation.
Thank you:)

I recently had surgery and was so happy and completely impressed with the hospital, the nursing staff and food!
I was in room 9 1west and want to give special mentions to Tiffany, Grace, Rowina Gershian (sorry about spelling), Gershain you were amazing as my night nurse and I slept so well under your care. On the last day I had Michelle.she had a plan.she had me up, showering and got me organised and confident to go home. Thank you Michelle!
I definitely recommend this hospital. I couldnt fault anything or anyone from admission to discharge.

Went there for something simple and that should have been easy, made me worst and more sick.dissapointing for a private hospital, better the public one in the west side.

Went in for surgery and stayed for 3 nights.
Surgery went well and my surgeon was fantastic.everything that followed was on the worst experiences I could have.
The nurses and the service were so bad. There was night where my IV machine was alarming in the middle of the night and I was ringing for so long to get a nurses attention. She finally came in and abused me for ringing the alarm so many times.awe full. The nurses in general are rough and not pleasant in anyway. Even with the new upgrades it still looks very outdated and they would not give me a private room. This was worse than going to a public hospital! Stay away and give another deserving hospital your money.

From start to finish and a few days stay I left there upset after I saw nurse on 2 floor pick on patients and talk about them. Dont come here or leave family it is the worst hospital I have visited. The manager of hospital is an utter moron like the nurses. Avoid go a little further to epworth private world class hospital.
I give you _ 10 stars

Be very aware of John Fawkner Emergency costs as a private patient admitted charged $300 upfront with no rebate on top of this over $400 out of pocket additional expenses for radiology and pathology. I would highly recommend going to other private or public hospitals to save extreme out of pocket expenses.

Brilliant emergency ward, the friendliest and helpful caring staff we have ever had in a hospital

When I first got to emergency they were quickly on to my issue and attentive to my needs. Doctor looked at me and decided I should be admitted. It then took them 9 hours to take me up to a bed! All the while they were saying that there was a bed shortage and they were trying to move people around to find a spot. Well when they finally took me to the 2nd floor, I got a 2 bed room and directly across the hallway was a 4 bed room, completely empty!

The only good thing about this place is the food. Shower/toilet rooms could not be locked and they were cluttered with mobile toilet seat things.
Nurses were basically robots working to a defined schedule, so they would wake me in the middle of the night to give me one tablet. One nurse would not dim down the hallway lights at night and left the ward doors wide open, so that made sleeping very hard. And they would not consider patient comfort by allowing people to talk loudly all the time, often during the night, when walking past wards.

Overall experience was OK but not the standard I expect from a private hospital.

I have been attending the Hospital for over 30 years and the Team from ED, Medical Team, Kitchen etc look after my Family very well. Any issues are handled by Director of Nursing -always finds time to help if you have questions or concerns.

My wife had surgery, and i was told after they finished to wait in her room that she will be there in thirty minutes. It's been OVER 2 hours since the thirty minutes lapsed, and being told soon every time i ask them if everything is ok with her. Last time we come here for private cover, this is not why we get private Cover.clutered hallways, unhelpful stuff and zero patient comunication i don't know if the whole hospital but definatly level 3.useless!

Had my surgery there recently. Despite their renovation work, the staff were most accommodating and caring. Excellent service.

My husband attended emergency dept at 1am on Sunday morning. Was treated very efficiently by nurse Marcella. Attended again today and had friendly and efficient service from Lucinda (reception) Nora and Dr Chen. All made another visit to emergency at John Fawkner very reassuring.

Not a bad Hospital - At least in my experience - Got me out of a significant bind - I had my appendix removed at this hospital a couple of years ago - It was alright. I dont know why some reviewers refer to their nurse's race though - I feel like it adds no material value to the review nor any relevance and it highlights an underlying racism potentially driving the posters review.looking at you AGNES
